I have used this location multiple times....the interior has changed....management has changed but one thing that has NEVER changed is AALIYAH!!!!! Aaliyah is one of the NICEST...MOST PROFESSIONAL PEOPLE I have EVER dealt with. She smiles and remains nice even when the customers are nasty, mean and difficult. Her level of AWESOME is UNMATCHED! The system is down and customers are grumbling....while the manager stopped by and wouldnt come on to assist .....Aaliyah was apologizing and thanking you for your patience. No cars available? The drivers are otw back with cars OR she's calling the airport or another location. I have been renting from this Hertz location for quite some time, and until recently, my experiences had been positive. Unfortunately, my interactions with the new manager, Ken, have been extremely disappointing. Rather than providing customer service and assistance, I encountered behavior that I found arrogant, disrespectful, and unprofessional. While I was already driving a vehicle experiencing maintenance issues, my concerns were dismissed instead of being addressed. I was told that replacement vehicles were unavailable or on hold, yet I observed vehicles being made available to other customers. The lack of transparency, inconsistent explanations, and unwillingness to help left me feeling unfairly treated and discriminated against as a customer. A manager should focus on resolving problems and supporting customers, not creating additional frustration during an already difficult situation. This experience has significantly changed my opinion of a location that I previously enjoyed using. DON'T BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS. The fact that this establishment has low reviews is really odd. I almost went to another location because of that, but decided to get my own opinion and I'm glad I did. The experience that I had was exceptional! The customer service was amazing and I encountered everyone on shift including the employee who answered the phone, but wasn't visible. The energy was so great that it was contagious amongst the customers waiting. We laughed and got to know one another as we waited patiently. Such a great warm feeling there. Presidents circle member here! This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a Hertz! I felt like I as renting from budget! First, they did not have the car that I rented. I made a comment about it and the young lady told me I am lucky to be getting any car on Memorial Day weekend. They took over 45 minutes to get my rental then the car was dirty. So she took it to the back for another 45 minutes. I walked to the back of the store to see what was taking so long and she acted as if I had just killed her dog. She told me that I couldn't be in this area. I told her it's been 45 minutes. I just want to get the car and go. When I walked back there, I could tell she was having a good time, barely cleaning and just wasting time. She didn't called her male colleague who came to the back who told me that I couldn't be there because it was trespassing. I said where are the signs that say it is trespassing and I cannot come back here. You all are not the only business behind the shop. He even pointed to a no trespassing no loitering sign that is literally across the entire building, even right in front of their door. He came across as if he had some big bad energy which is hilarious because he's a little guy. I walked back to the front and waited 20 more minutes for her to pull around with a dirty car. Not only was the car dirty. It only had 1/4 of a tank. I think I'm lying check out the pictures. Rude staff, long waits, I will just drive the extra distance to the Morrow location! read more

Terrible customer service from the Hertz rental associate Carl. He had poor manners, was dismissive, and completely unhelpful. He refused to reserve a car for us, told us we had to come in person, and when we did, the only option he offered was a Buick. We were basically forced to waste time driving up there for nothing. To make it worse, when I called back, Carl tried to backtrack and lie, claiming he never said Hertz couldn't reserve cars, when he absolutely did. The lack of accountability and professionalism was ridiculous. Because of his behavior, we now have to go to another Hertz location altogether. This experience was frustrating, unnecessary, and avoidable. Customer service like this gives the company a bad name. read more

I literally sat there for 20 min without being service. 1 young lady was assisting another customer while I can hear employees in the back having a non-office conversation without coming to check the front to see if there were any customers. this young lady was genuinely nice and kind by at least letting everyone know to please bare with her and she will get to us shortly while 3 more customers came in as well ...while the employees in the back continued to have a loud conversation. Finally they came out front to assist the young lady by that time the lobby was crowded. I think that's very unprofessional for a manager to have a conversation in the back not attending to the front checking on customers that may be waiting in the lobby, and you can clearly hear the conversation. I've gone to this location about 20 times over the past 6 years that I've lived in the area and I must admit the experience varies from time to time- some times they'll have everything clean and gassed up ready for pick up, some times they'll won't have any cars and they'll tell you you can pay for an upgrade, sometimes they will have you wait for a car but charge you like you picked up your rental on time in spite of you having to wait an hour, it really just depends on the staff and the day or time of year. No experience has been a five star experience for me even when I've had good days because I do believe any and every business has room for improvement. I will say they have dropped back on the quality of the cars that they have sent over from the dealership- it use to be your rental car selection would make you want to purchase the car or at least consider- these just make me want to get to my destination, nothing special, most of what I've received seemed like the base trim and at a rate of $80/day- no read more

employee. She had attitude, was rude, and muttered under her breath as she walked away from the counter and out the door into the back. We were simply trying to make sure we had two licensed drivers (my wife and I) on the rental. That request blew her mind, and she said she couldn't add an additional driver. Then she back-pedaled after talking to another employee (Josh) when she was corrected by him to understand that drivers on the renters own policy are OK to drive the vehicle. It became apparent when I asked if there was a manager who could assist me after dealing with her attitude that she was done with me...she asked me to have a seat to wait for her manager- who was not present - and she would not tell me when her manager would be back. Cool...put the customer in the penalty box. I had been polite, respectful and patient with her but she was filled with attitude. Another employee (Josh) then assisted me, having over heard some of the struggle. Josh was awesome! He was polite, he listened, he was respectful - and he got me all set-up. When Josh was done, manager Cici showed up - and she was just as awesome. She listened intently and was very professional. I made sure she knew how great Josh was. I'm giving 4 stars here because this location has potential with great employees like Cici & Josh...but they need to fire the other employee that has such a terrible attitude. read more

Hertz Union City Shannon Mall area is definitely where I would go for a car rental. The team members there especially Tiesha were very friendly and helpful. We reserved a car with Tiesha and she was awesome. She took great care of us during pickup and upon returning the vehicle. She is a great asset to Hertz. Let start by saying THIS PLACE SUCKS especially the pea brain Manager JEREMY MCKILLER was so arrogant and coy in attitude when I spoke to him. Now keep in mind that HERTZ has my card on file and they texted that they were charging a repossession fee for the extension in which they never towed the vehicle that I'm legally renting. I drove almost 45 minutes to pick up a rental that had been reserved for over a week just to be told they had no cars available, which is the sole purpose of making a reservation in the 1st place. Associate says that the reservation is for the price & not the car, which contradicts the very definition of reserve. Were told we could wait, although there were others already waiting, or leave & call in a few hours with no guarantee of a car being available. What's the point??!! Almost an entire day wasted. I had serious reservations about renting from this location after reading reviews on Yelp, but I was in a bit of a crunch. I'm pleased to report that my experience was STELLAR! From pickup to return, the agents were prompt, pleasant, and professional. I reserved through AAA in order to get discounted price. I have no complaints at all. Perhaps the previous feedback that others offered has made the difference. This is the location closest to me outside of the airport, so I will return, based upon this positive experience. read more

This Location has poor customer service & also has incorrect hours posted on line. They claim to have pick you up & drop off service but the young man is always unavailable. The manager was upset I wanted to switch out a vehicle that was having mechanical issues & he knew he couldn't rent it out. Therefor did nothing to listen to me & the issues I was having. Charged me 91$ for a one day rental. After making a comment that he would never pay that. Then announced he was leave that location & going to Marrow. Gold members deserve better treatment & should be Valued. Now on the other hand Alex that works there is Kind to every customer no matter their status. This location is the worst I have ever dealt with to start off I dropped off my car at the body shop called to let them know what time I would be there so they could pick me up I had to have my car at the body shop at 11:30 they showed up 2 hours later. So I finally get to there office to get the rental car the associates are rude. Each time I called they always wanted to put me on hold I once waited on hold for 20 min or either they don't answer it at all. I will never use this location again I will use Enterprise. read more

These people have been charging me $100 a day for a rental I returned a week ago. Their staff is too lazy to do their job and take inventory, check mileage, or cameras to insure when people have returned their rentals. Because of their ignorance, these people owe me over $1,000 dollars and I now have a a hold on my bank account. I WOULD not advise anyone to rent a car from this company (especially this location). Yes, DD there is a difference between picking up a rental at the airport and picking up from a local edition of Hertz. Besides the obvious that the local locations have set closing times, (6pm) in this instance, there is also the chance that when you get there, your car won't be waiting on you. So, at about 11am, I made a reservation to pick up at this location, because A. it was cheaper to rent locally than from the airport, and B. my friend lives up the street, so I knew getting someone to pick me up after dropping off the rental would be a breeze. The rep told me that she had to make the reservation for at least 2 hours out, and I replied...ok....but im going to pick the car up soon as we get off the phone, and of course the rep, who was probably in Egypt said....no problem.... Well....u know there was a problem. I get there right before noon, and the counter guy says....we dont have any cars? Uh...excuse me....isnt this a rental car spot? Yes, he replies...but we have to order the cars in, and you have to do the reservation at least 24 hours in advance in order for us to have a car waiting for you. Sheesh! Now I know u are all thinkin...DD bout to snap on this poor guy. And u are right! Well not snap in an Atlanta Housewives kinda way, but I informed him of what the telephone rep had told me...and he says...presses a few key strokes and says.....oh...you're reservation isnt until 2pm....uh...I know....I just told u that sir.....and...then he mumbles....we can try and get a car here for u by then, but there are no gurantees. I get back on the phone with Hertz, and this telephone rep tells me....that counter guy is correct, that the other telephone rep shouldnt have made me a reservation at this location, becasuse A. they are independently owned, and dont have a fleet of cars at thier disposal..(and had I asked him to order me a car in from the airport or another location and possibly come back at 2pm)...and B. independtly owned locations can deny your rental if they dont have a car available for you! DOUBLE SHEESH! So of course, I now have to turn on the charm with counter guy...but not so much Im sappy, but enuff to get the guy to call another independently owned location in Fayetville and "borrow" a car from them so that he can put me in a rental and send me on my way. The saga ends with me jumpin into a car that wasnt available for rental with another counter guy, being driven to Fayettville, and finally being put in a rental. All in all....I wont say it was a horrible experience...just that I've had better experiences...and the 20 minute drive to Fayetteville was pleasant, even if a little inconveniant, the counter guy extended my rental time to 5:30pm instead of me having to bring it back around the time I picked up, because of course, they close at 6. He also gave me a helpful reminder that if I didnt turn it back in at the location by 5:30pm, I would be charged an extra day because they dont have a key drop at this location...or that I could turn it in at the airport, but then I would have to pay the airport fees and taxes for the return. read more

The staff WAS polite however had no idea what they were doing. We had a reservation to pick up a car by noon that we had for over a week and when we arrived to get the rental the woman said they didn't have any cars and had no idea when they were getting some in. They had 3 cars in front of the building and they all had expired tags. We explained that we were on a tight time table and got the run around. We called corporate to file a complaint, corporate said they'd have someone call us back and that never happened. It took another 3 hours to get the car (Not the model that was promised) and then they said there was a $200 deposit, after specifically saying there wouldn't be one when we made the reservation. The woman behind the counter said that we would get that back on the same day we returned the car, yet when we drop it off they then say it will take 3-5 business days. The location was a dirty little hole in the wall and we got nothing but lies and empty promises from the ignorant staff. I DO NOT recommend this location, or even the company after this experience. Danielle saved my life!! Alright so a little bit of a back story my friend and I flew into Atlanta from New Jersey and had a reservation with Enterprise, however when we arrived at the Enterprise, we were told that we had to place a $150 deposit in addition to the rental amount and it could only be on a credit card (which is different than what the representative told us before even coming to Atlanta). Long story short Enterprise had us stranded 3 hours away from our destination and didn't seem to care much! First thing I did was call this Hertz location and had the pleasure of speaking with their extremely polite and professional associate, Danielle. I explained the situation to her and she presented me with a list of suitable options so that we can get on the road! Within 15 minutes of making the initial call to Hertz, we were picked up (by Danielle) and in a rental on our way with an even BETTER rate than Enterprise. Danielle really turned our experience around and I can't thank her, or Hertz enough for making the process completely stress free! I have been a Hertz "Gold Plus" member for a very long time. Apparently it does not mean anything anyways. I made my reservation 2 1/2 weeks in advance of my trip. I get a call 5:10pm Friday night, 10 minutes after the office closes so I cant even call them back, to be left a voicemail telling me they have no cars available for me the next morning when I am supposed to pick up the car. I call Hertz and they find one at the airport, further driving, for $60 more than what I was going to pay originally (my Gold Plus benefit - more driving and higher price). I escalated to a manager and by the time they check again, there are no cars available. So now I have to go online and since its the night before picking it up first thing in the morning, I am now paying 3 times the original amount. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! On July 9, 2020 I was suppose to pick up a rental car. I have used Hertz before and never had an issue. This was my first time using the Union City, GA location and will never attempt to use them again. I waited an hour before getting to the counter. There was 1 customer being helped, and then one more person in front of me. Once I got to the counter she asked when I made my reservation, I said this morning. She said ohh we're sold out and only renting for reservations booked yesterday and prior. I said will then update your system to say so. As a former Enterprise employee we were trained to call customers ahead as a courtesy when we foresee these types of things. Not just let someone show up knowing when you started your shift nothing could be done. Or even attempt to request cars from other locations and offer alternative solutions. And the "Oh well" attitude she had was rude..... But not to communicate this morning to the same days reservation people is a simple management task that goes a long way. I also booked a hotel out of town this morning and now scrambling to figure out another alternative. Need better management at this location.... also another customer was given a car that smelled like smoke. And there were 6 other people waiting for cars before I arrived.... If I could give them 0 stars, I would. We first arrived and no one was even in the building. Then we waited over an hour before anyone even said 2 words to us. THEN they tell us that we can't rent the car because we didn't make a reservation 24 hours in advance. Even though we made our reservation online and had already paid. The guy working had very little sympathy and did not even try to tell us what to do next in getting a car or our money back. I am an employee with the Hertz corporation and I booked a car at this location because I live near it. I had dropped my car off at Enterprise because that is where the insurance company rented the car but for my personal rental of course I would do Hertz, but after Enterprise drops me off I am told by the people that work for the same company I do: as the gentleman was eating his lunch in public view that we have no cars. My question is then why did you not close off your reservations so I couldn't have made one....? Of course it's the whole close to the weekend thing. Of course I wasn't even offered a ride to where I needed to go as an employee. This really kinda broke my heart. I've never experienced this because I rent from the one I work at, but I can only imagine how our customers are being treated if this is how we treat our employees!
