After a 9 hour flight and over an hour inching through customs we arrive at the rental office to discover a long line and employees that are moving so slowly that they appear to be drugged. I'm a Hertz Gold member so we skip the line and head right to the desk but our attendant has taken the massive dose of muscle relaxant that all the other employees have taken and ploddingly assembles our paperwork and gets our signatures. He then explains that our car, the one we reserved weeks ago, isn't here. And that it has to be retrieved from some distant, mysterious lot by an employee likely even less concerned about timeliness or customer care than he is. We groan and resign ourselves to our Purgatory-like fate and step aside to wait. We sit, we wander, we wait and we marvel at the glacial pace with which the employees process their clientele. An hour after we arrive our car finally appears and we discover that the sunroof is broken. I love France. It's a beautiful country. But the idea that you can treat your customers with such flagrant disrespect is truly maddening!

Week 3: The Europcar Scam Ordeal Continues [Case Ref:…read moreN°26530599 | Booking Ref: N°1203090614] The Week 3 Plot Twist: Two weeks ago, a customer service representative named Ahmed explicitly told me on a recorded phone call that I would be fully refunded for both charges. He was so confident that he kindly asked me to give him a high 5-star rating in the post-call customer satisfaction survey. I did. And what happened two days later? Total betrayal. They sent an email completely contradicting his verbal promise, claiming they "didn't notice" it was a Pack Light reservation and are now pretending they need the hostile Terminal 1 manager's permission to give my money back. They manipulated me into giving them a good survey rating based on a lie, while holding over 512 EUR of my money. Will Europcar corporate fix Ahmed and the manager's mess.... Tune in next week.

The guy at the desk said he was going to look after us with a 7 seater then tried to add on €90 I said no thanks then he tried to say €60. When he finally came back and I went to get the car it was dirty, food in the doors, receipts, cloths tags, the car was not washed or cleaned inside. The car seat they gave was 0-15months but I booked a 4 to 7 years. I checked the car for damage and took as many pictures as I could but with children needing to use the toilet we had to rush to get going. When I returned I met a worker to inspect the car. He walked around and said all was ok he hardly even looked at the body work and alloys. Then all of a sudden he went to the pasangers side and found a small scuff on the alloy that was definitely not done by me. He was saying it was new damage, it was so obvious what he was doing the way he just zoomed in on that all of a sudden out of nowhere. I refused to sign the documents. There was a an argument then and we left. I wouldn't be surprised now to see money taken from my credit card in the next few days. I won't be using Europcar CDG again.

Overall, the car rental went alright. First the positives:…read moreThe car was clean and enjoyable to drive with many good features. Most of the staff was polite, helpful, and got us and our baby on our way quickly both for taking and returning the car. We called to double check they would have a suitable car seat for us and that we did not need to bring our own. We have a tall 9 month old child so needed to make sure we had a rear facing car seat that was large enough. The person we interacted with at the desk was perfect and helpful, the person who "helped" us get our car seat once on the lot could not have cared less what car seat he gave us or in what state it was in. When we eventually found an adequate car seat, they did not have the instruction manual for installation, and the car seat was not clean. They charged us about 100 euro more than our reservation amount indicated on the confirmation email, but we were too tired after the flight to notice, and signed the agreement. Return went smoothly, our paper work was signed and our payment processed. When we got home, my credit card stopped working in stores and I came to realize that enterprise had charged us a second time on my card. This was a rather long rental (4 weeks+), so it was expensive and the double-charge maxed my credit. My card was essentially locked up for a week and a half, causing problems for bill payments among other things. Getting the charge reversed was 'easy,' except it cost me about 90 minutes on the phone with several different agents.

BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS!…read more Enterprise Rent A Car France Charles De Gaulle Airport Paris, France In June of 2026, I had one of the worst experiences I have ever had renting a vehicle in a variety of countries around the world. We rented the vehicle on June 20, 2026 at the Enterprise Rent a Car stand at Charles De Gaulle Airport outside of Paris. Upon arriving at the airport, we found that the vehicle was not ready. After waiting for nearly an hour, the vehicle, a Renault Rafa, was brought up. The agent, a young lady, assured us their vehicles were always in top shape and we could take videos on our walk around but that would be totally unnecessary since they never had any problems. However, each of the four of us in our party walked around the car looking for the usual scratches and dings and noting them on the form provided. I have never felt the need to examine the tires or the undercarriage and as a result I only gave the tires a perfunctory glance and they seemed to be fine. We had rented the car until June 29 but during the course of our journey we changed our plans and returned the car a day early on June 28. The car performed well throughout our tour of Normandy and other areas. We never had an accident or even struck a curb. Upon arriving at the Enterprise facility I parked the vehicle and sought the assistance of two young attendants in the area. One, somewhat reluctantly, took responsibility for checking the car back in. He did the perfunctory checks on the mileage and gasoline levels. From there he began crawling on his hands and knees around the car. He gazed at the undercarriage for several minutes and then proceeded to a painstaking observation of each tire. After doing this, he did a quick perusal of the exterior of the car. He then asked me to come to the office with him. Upon arriving in the office he stated that he had seen some damage on the right front tire. I asked him what kind of damage, he said there was a small tear on the sidewall. He said you must have had an accident. I denied this and I asked him to show it to me. We went out to the car and he showed me the tire. He asked if I had taken a video of the tire when renting the car. I said no. I then asked him if Enterprise routinely took videos of tires and he said no. He said his supervisor would determine next steps and I would receive an email from him in the next day. That night I received several emails from Enterprise saying that they wanted to resolve this and wanted me to be a satisfied customer. I wrote back and explained what had happened but never heard from this person again. The supervisor emailed me that he had investigated and found me liable for the tire . The cost would be the maximum amount they could charge me 309 Euros. When the bill reached me a month later the amount had increased to 392 Euros and now included a 50 Euro administration fee as well as a 33.04 Euro loss of use fee. It is obvious to me that this is a common scam used on unsuspecting customers of Enterprise Rent A Car. To my knowledge no one renting a car ever crawls on the ground looking for tire damage but interestingly enough this must be a common practice for this company in Paris. I have rented vehicles from Enterprise Rent a Car around the world and I have never had such a dishonest and disheartening experience. I can only feel that this is the way Enterprise chooses to thank their customers for their loyalty.

No one was there to check the car. When I picked up the car, I noticed damage to the front bumper on the right side and a scratch on the side of the vehicle. I took pictures of the damages and came back to the front desk to notify the agent. I asked her to inspect the car and update the damage. She said that the printer was down, and an email was underway. After checking my email, the contract was not updated and was showing no damage. After insisting, she gave me a blank, car inspection paper slip with the noted damage on it and her employee number. She also told me that the contract will be updated in her internal system. It is now January 31 and after the car was returned, the scratches are now being reported after the fact and are my responsibilities'. I am deeply disappointed by the lack of integrity, unprofessionalism of AVIS CDG. I no longer recommend AVIS CDG as a customer. Beware!
