This time we decided to opt out of using taxis since they get expensive. We had a good experience with Only Rent A Car, I checked online and got different quotes from other rental companies. We decided to rent the car in person. They gave us a good price for a seven seater vehicle. They were more reasonable than other companies, I'll definitely rent again from them. Mariana was very helpful and informative. She even gave us recommendations for local restaurants. You can communicate with them through WhatsApp and get a quote. The only downfall about renting a vehicle and staying in downtown Oaxaca is parking is scarce. They did charge a deposit on my credit card, it showed as pending and cleared a day later after we returned the vehicle with no issues. You'll have to park in a private parking location called a pension. Check with your hotel if parking is available with your stay they might have an agreement with a near by parking lot. If not street parking is ok just have to drive around to look for one. Enjoy a mezcal and have fun in Oaxaca.

When I raised it, I learned they don't even provide proper equipment to swap a spare, so a flat would've left me stranded on a remote road. On top of the danger: surprise fees that made the advertised "economy" price a joke, and response times that were somewhere between glacial and nonexistent. This is a company that takes your money and hands you a hazard. Avoid completely.

After waiting for 15 minutes we asked whether perhaps anyone could help with our reservation--"just a moment". Ok. 10 more minutes pass, and we say that we are in a hurry and may need to cancel our reservation and go to another agency who can help us. "If you have to," they say. So off we went to a more expensive place down the street, where we at least got prompt and polite service.

I was told I was paying a damage deposit that would be returned at drop of - I confirmed at drop off that the charge on my card was being returned, which they confirmed would take place within 48 hours. Hertz is now telling me that I approved these charges - which includes a young drivers surcharge (I am not a young driver) as well as $740 MISCELLANEOUS ADJUSMENT that they can't tell me what it was for. This 'adjustment' is almost double what the entire rental was supposed to be. I am extremely frustrated. I've rented cars all over the world. This was a scam.
