This place is huge! It's now a combo of the paint store and an Ace hardware. And they have almost everything. My husband needed some paint and some wasp spray. He was able to get a small can of the paint he needed. They even mixed it up (on the shaker) a bit before selling it to him. Paint is now pretty expensive -- as all things are becoming. But the accommodating staff lessened the sticker shock effect. Meanwhile I went to look for the wasp spray. They actually have helpful and personable staff. Really! When I asked about it, they didn't just tell me the aisle number, they escorted me there. And how nice to find that what we wanted was even on sale. I liked this place so much that I think I'd go out of my way to shop here. read more

I have been an Ace Hardware (Delray Beach) customer for a very long time. Yesterday was just another positive experience. I took my 2 dogs with me because I know this store is dog friendly and customers always want to pet them. This time my dash in my car told me that my key fob for my car needed a new battery. I took both key fobs and they replaced both batteries for me. Anywhere else would have just sold me new batteries and I would have had to figure out how to replace the batteries myself - or go to the dealership (way too expensive). The person that helped me had to review a YouTube video to know how to gain access to my key fobs - but that is what they do at Ace Hardware - always go the extra mile. In fact I felt bad for taking up more of his time - so I gave him a nice tip - because I really appreciated the extra time and help. If you are sick and tired of not being able to find someone that can help you at Home Depot - go to Ace Hardware in Delray Beach. You walk in and are greeted by the cashier. If you have a question, she'll send you to the "expert" desk in the center of the store. The expert will answer your question, provide suggestions, show you where the item(s) you are looking for are. They know their business, they know their products, and most of all, they WANT to help you. No more chasing folks in orange aprons around a football field-sized store. Recently I had my 30-year-old chef knives sharpened by their ReSharp Knife Sharpening Robot...Amazing! They also sell Benjamin Moore paint and will mix small samples as well as gallons while you wait. Wow! Why I Dont just come here first as opposed to going to the big box yard retailer is a mystery! I just got fed up with Home Depot on jog road and came down the street here to ace! They were busy but had staff working in the aisle to direct customers AND human beings working the checkout lines! As an ace membership member I saved $10! If you don't mind waiting Hessler Ace Hardware has nothing in their store that is of any quality avoid this Ace Hardware as much as you can. They are not experienced people and the employees know nothing about anything. He got the right screws n parts and even came out to my car to fix the wheelchair handle on the spot. He's a wonderful asset to the company. I love this store! They always help me with everything I come in for, whether it's buying something and a friendly employee takes me right to the aisle that has what I'm looking for, or whether I have some odd request at the Helpful Hub, where they are always helpful and can always take care of whatever I need assistance with. My first request was soon after I moved to the area, and my car key fob came open and wouldn't work correctly. I had trouble getting the little tab placed back into the main piece, so it wouldn't work right and open my car door, and after going to a locksmith location and an auto supply store where I got no actual help, I drove past Ace Hardware on Atlantic and decided to go in and see if I could get any assistance there. The guy at the Helpful Hub took care of it right away and didn't even want to take any money for it. I insisted on giving him some cash and then left happy that I could unlock my car once again with the fob. The second time I visited the Hub was to get glass cut for my father's favorite framed photo (of his deceased second wife), which had broken in his bedroom. I told him that they could do it for us at Ace, and sure enough, they got the glass sized for us and fixed the photo for my dad, which was great, and he was very relieved. In my most recent experience, I needed some other picture frames fixed, and I went straight to the Helpful Hub at Ace. I had ordered six custom frames online for some non-standard-size art prints that I had bought. When the frames arrived at my house and I unpacked them and started putting the art in them, I realized that two of them were hinged wrong for my pictures. Instead of 16 X 12 for a horizontal picture, I had ordered a 12 X 16 and the hanging hardware was wired across the top of the vertical side instead of the horizontal side, and vice versa for another piece. If I hung them like that on my walls, the pictures would have to go up sideways. I was at a loss for how to fix them, because the screws and wire were only put onto the wood of the frames in one way and not the other. At Ace, I went to the Helpful Hub and a courteous guy named Jay came up and asked how he could help. I showed him the issue with my pictures and he said he could do it for me right then (I had been prepared to leave them and come back). He took off the original hardware and drilled new holes and put the hardware on in the way that I needed them, and he got the frames so they were perfect. He wouldn't take any money for his time and effort, and I really appreciated that he fixed the problem and I could go home and immediately hang my pictures. Thanks, Ace Hardware, for always having my back and fixing my problems! I will go there for all hardware and related shopping, plus any other things I need fixed. read more

It's become a nightmare to go to the big home improvement stores, never could find someone to cut a key then you hope it works. I have shopped here for years and they did a major remodeling and expansion a few years ago, Great selection of wallpaper they need more staff because lately you don't get service in that area. The big nightmare is the parking lot is too small and compact. My last visit I went to my car and another customer parked so close to my car that I couldn't get in! I went in to buy a new Weber grill. the courtesy, helpfulness, knowledge and just a wonderful experience was waiting fir my wife and myself. i did not have to search around looking fir help. Jimmy immediately showed us what we were looking for and wrote up our order and took us to the efficient cashier. Our order was placed, delivery date set and Michael carefully set it ip on our patio and tested it and removed our old one. The whole Hessler experience was so pleasant with courteous sweet people just wanting to help you. Let me say this review is way overdue!! I was on vacation visiting family back in April. My parents had a problem with their grill. First I called to ask about the warranty and I was given A plus phone service from Amanda!! She even called me back after doing some research on the grill and the warranty. She tells me to come over and they will help me. Once I am there I was helped by a very kind and warm employee named Jimmy! Jimmy found the issue( the hose was old and not functioning)..... Amanda didn't charge me for the hose!! Let me say , If I was opening a business I would hire Jimmy and I would certainly have Amanda as a supervisor just as this Ace has her. Customer service is alive and well at this spot. No taking advantage of folks, no extra fees or hustle; just good old fashioned customer care! Hope Jimmy and Amanda are doing well! For many years Hessler's Hardware on Atlantic near Military was a staple in hardware in Delray Beach. It was old school and a refreshing alternative to the mass merchandising of Home Depot and Lowes. I am not sure if the Hessler's sold the store to Ace or it is thier franchise but the new Ace store here is simply magnificent. This is the anti Home Depot and Lowes for people wanting friendly, knowledgeable, patient customer service with a smile. You will have as good an experience as you can have at a hardware store if that makes sense. I have been carrying around my harmonica in my glove box which is missing the tiniest of screws making it unusable for over a month. Too much banging it like it's percussion between my playing it normally! Anyways I drove by the store and noticed that the landscape was new and that it was now Ace so knowing that Ace is the place I stopped in. The store has been open a week and is squeeky clean. You can practically eat off the floor (it's just a saying). The layout is easy and spacious. You hit the design area first with the paint department off to the left where the main registers are. Hessler's was a Benjamin Moore store but of course Ace carries thier own line of good paint at a great price point so it's all good. The BBQ area was impressive and in fact I was told that Saturdays is grill day and to stop over and have some wings or sausages etc. Pretty cool. All in all the store features a great variety of items all laid out neatly in isles that are chock full of product. I showed my harmonica to William who has only been there for the week and he literally spent 15 minutes searching all the possible tiny screws until he found the correct ones. He then fixed my instrument! Super great guy very laid back and friendly the perfect employee! I felt so guilty as the cost of the scerws were less than $1 LOL so I bougfht a car air freshener and I gave William a nice little tip for being so good to me. I would come back here before hitting those other huge stores unless I needed lumber, appliances or plants but for little common and not so common items you wont regret stopping in at Ace. I was at the hessler paint & hardware store on Atlantic in Delray today with my 4th trip there trying to find the right white paint for my house. Who knew white was so hard to pick!!?! Every experience there has been very pleasant but today I have to say fransico (the paint mixer) went above and beyond having patience and explaining undertones and making adjustments to colors I had already sampled. He was SO nice and friendly, and so well informed. He really took his time with me ensuring I would be happy with my color choice. Tina the cashier was equally friendly and helpful answering questions even when it wasn't really part of her job to do that. And also did a great job keeping her eye out to make sure everyone was following Covid protocols. Highly recommend this paint store for picky shoppers like me!! This morning was the second time I've been to this Ace Hardware store in the past month. The first time, there was some help available but hardly knowledgeable. The second time was this morning at 7:45 AM. I was looking for specific hardware for a home project and could not locate it so I went to front counter to check on assistance. I was told that nobody for "Ace" was in yet, but to his credit the paint guy said that he could help me out after he finishes taking care of the two customers in his line. I left. Two takeaways from my experiences. First, if you want to go to Ace, go to the one located in downtown Delray. Secondly. Ace Hardware should reconsider allowing their brand to be franchised inside another store such as Hessler, because clearly it is not being run the same way as an independently operated Ace Hardware store. read more
