My 77-year-old mother was admitted to Norton Hospital last year for a scheduled spinal fusion and…read morewas dead days later. We were told the surgery went well, though we later received inconsistent explanations from the surgical team. She was initially lucid after surgery but became increasingly delirious the next day. When I raised concerns, I was told it was Alzheimer's -- despite no prior history of dementia. Meanwhile, nursing staff mentioned plans to move her to rehab even as her mental status worsened. A nurse told my sister she did not know how to use the bed alarm monitor. That same day, my mother suffered an unwitnessed fall and was found on the floor. She had obstructive sleep apnea and brought her CPAP machine, which was marked as required on her bracelet. It was never used. Early the following morning, she went into cardiac arrest. The medical record notes that an initial attempt to defibrillate ventricular fibrillation was made, but the defibrillator malfunctioned. Although circulation was eventually restored, she suffered catastrophic hypoxic brain injury. We were told she was between a vegetative state and brain death, and we made the decision to withdraw life support. We understand that not every outcome is preventable. What has stayed with us is the repeated dismissal of concerns and apparent lapses in basic safeguards. We entrusted Norton with her care. I would not recommend other families do the same. Based on the other reviews here, it seems that we are not alone in our experience.

When I was rolled past the desk several caregiver where sitting there. My wife had to go to the desk and get nasty with the staff. Please tell me how u dont see a body being rolled past u. And the transport ER nurse spoke with them The nurses except for 2 have no business being nurses. The week before I was on the 8th floor the staff was much better after a couple mishaps. I would hate to be in the ICU and need attention. I would not recommend being on the 2nd floor with the current staff. After calling them out they act as if they have a attitude. I dont care about their attitude,do your job. After all my money pays u for half doing your jobs.

I recently visited the Mokara Salon and Spa in the Omni in Louisville. The booking process was…read moreextremely easy and the staff on the phone were very helpful. I called to book a deep tissue massage for 50 minutes, with the massage you can use the pool and facilities before or after your treatment. The spa has a very relaxing vibe and was very comfortable. I arrived about 30 minutes before my appointment. I had a short wait since there was only one person at the front desk and there were helping other clients at the time. When it was my turn, I was warmly greeted and given a tour of the facility. The changing rooms are right off the main lobby area, and I was guided around the area and advised on what was available to use. I decided to change and then head to the relaxation room to await my massage. The room had flavored water and hot tea available, as well as a few packaged snacks. There were several Lounge chairs available with sheer curtains to provide some privacy. My massage therapist arrived right around my massage time and took me to my room. She was very nice and explained the process and asked if I had any areas of concern. Unfortunately the massage wasn't great, I had opted for a deep tissue massage, but not a lot of pressure was used. She also never checked in with me during the massage and it ended a bit early. The facility is beautiful and next time I will try a facial or another service since I loved the atmosphere so much.

I do recommend spending extra time to enjoy a hot cup of tea prior to your service and time to use the sauna, pool and shower after your massage.
