I am such a fan of Broadway Nutrition - not just because of the delicious, nutritious, high protein, low calorie smoothies, but even more so because of Susan, the owner-extraordinaire and visionary behind this establishment. I first met Susan during the Buy Local fair several years ago, and every time I've seen her since she has remembered me, even when it's been months since I've last stopped by for a smoothie. Her infectiously pleasant smile and personable approach to life are truly the reason I love Broadway Nutrition (the smoothies are also pretty fantastic). I typically get hungry halfway through my morning, but this does not happen after I've stopped by Broadway Nutrition for breakfast. The smoothies have at minimum 24 grams of protein, and start at 200 calories (slightly more if you get a peanut butter option, which you definitely should, because yum). This place has the best and widest variety of smoothies I've seen! I confess I have a horrible sweet tooth and am always trying to find a great way to eat dessert and not feel guilty and this place is perfect! She makes incredible smoothies that are rich and creamy like the Reece's Peanut Butter cup I ate that leave you full and loving every sip. I don't usually like the taste of protein powder because it's usually super obvious and grainy but this stuff did not taste like protein powder at all and was so smooth I swear there was milk and cream in it! (Even though I know there wasn't) It almost tasted like a milkshake more than a smoothie especially after she decorates the cup with chocolate and peanut butter drizzle (which who is going to complain about that? Not me!) I got my smoothie around 1pm and at 3pm I'm still stuffed which is awesome because I've also tried "meal replacement" smoothies and been hungry less than an hour later. The parking is super accessible and easy to pull into from the road and it's right next to several gyms downtown! Definitely a must try for all you gym junkies and health nuts or if you are just looking for a way to get something sweet without having to splurge on calories and fat! When I arrived at Broadway Nutrition, it was nice to see that they have parking available. That makes visiting this place much easier! Best place in Louisville to get delicious smoothies, protein shakes, and teas! Susan, the owner, has really put together a solid business. I first came for a yelp event where I got to try the Java Chip smoothie (super yummy - reminded me of a Frappuccino but with wayyyy more nutrients and less sugar!). I quickly came back the next week because of how delicious the first smoothie was and got their Fruity Pebble one! It was so good and definitely gave me some childhood nostalgia. One thing I like about these smoothies is that they aren't too sweet. Sometimes the sweetness can be overwhelming but not here! The price is also great considering there is enough protein to make it a meal. I drink the smoothies after my workouts in the morning and won't be hungry until past my normal lunch time.
