I've been there for some walkathon type events and that was great too. Good space for things like that. Overall a fun place to go, especially in the fall when it's so pretty with all the colored leaves. If you are in the area and aren't sure what to do, it's a great place to run or walk or even sit outside and draw or read. Not many big parks like this around. A friend likes to go there and take pics and I tag along, just cuz it's nice to get outside and walk around. I love it so I'd like to say more but I can't think of what I've forgotten to mention. I guess just keep in mind there is construction on Dundas and by the entrance right now.

My husband, a friend and I, chartered Fish On Charter for a half day of fishing this month. What a…read morewonderful experience! We joined Captain Dave at the dock at 5:45 a.m. on August 12. The Captain and his mate were totally prepared for any eventuality that might occur. They were professional, courteous and all that could have been expected and more. It all began with a fresh cup of coffee and donuts. The boat provided the usual requirements plus all the fishing tackle, so we did not have to bring anything. The Captain was able to use his depth or sonar finder to locate many of the fish and with the help of his mate, assist us in finding our catch. All in all we caught 10 fish approximately 150 lbs of fish. One trout and nine salmon. Our six hours with Day ON Charter was our most memorable experience this Summer. We plan on doing this again next year when we look forward to taking one or two other couples with us. Our sincerest thanks to Captain Dave and his mate for a once in a lifetime experience. Gord and I headed to Etienne Brule Park yesterday afternoon. We've never been to this park so it was fun to check it out. We headed up the Humber River and followed it to Dundas Street W. There are six dams and we saw salmon jumping in half of them. The changing leaves were gorgeous! Though we didn't see any salmon make it up and over, people were cheering and encourage the salmon. It was a fun afternoon and I'm glad we checked it out.

There are clean bathroom right at the entrance, the staff maintains the park very well even provide dog bags. There are easy to ready maps everywhere. Terrain: there are different trails that range in various levels of difficulty. The front entrance map provides a details overview of the trail. Some routes are accessible, since do have narrow paths and are more challenging. The park it self features trails, fountains, bridges overlooking falls, multiple look out points, streams & plenty of shade. It's beautiful in the spring, summer & fall. Highly recommend coming by early and enjoying a calming stroll.

(varies) The sandy area is quite large, lot's of room to spread out. The water is pretty clean, and is a nice temperature. You can also rent paddle boats and canoes and such for additional fees. They also have a large water slide for the kids to go on. Unfortunately, for some strange reason the day we went it was closed which disappointed the kids. This is a nice clean area to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and can enjoy the beach. 4/5

There are plenty of fun playhouses and an apparatus for kids to play and have fun. Adults can spent time strolling around and enjoying the greenery. There are benches and places to sit if you want to people-watch. It housed a ton of ribfest vendors. I can see why many events end up being held here. It's a perfect place to have fun and relax. Parking can be a bit of a problem if there is an event. I had first thought about parking at the Port Credit Library lot, but it was full. Side street parking was crazy. I ended up landing a spot at the Port Credit GO and walking over to the park. I'd love to come back to this park, unwind, and see what it's like without the ribfest activities happening. I suspect that I should have an easier time finding parking. (273)

I'm really surprised I haven't reviewed this place - though I think I at least have reviewed the…read moreTree Top Trekking. The one thing I don't like is the notion of having to pay to enter a park. This might sound like an odd take since it's quite normal in Ontario, but being from BC originally, I can tell you that it was quite surprising (for here, and all other paid conservation parks). It's frustrating that the nicest park in the city - by far, which also has it's only natural lake, is gated and requires an entrance fee. I'll still give it 5 stars since it's part of a norm for the entire province, so I can't really hold that against it. I'll also have to admit that having a fee has perks which become apparent - namely: much cleaner, high staffing ratio (which helps cleanliness), no overcrowding, well maintained and even the configuration. It's similar to hating the cost of the 407 but having to admit you also love being able to cross the GTA in half the time. Heart Lake itself is a nice lake, and as mentioned the only natural lake in Brampton and probably one of the largest for quite some distance around it. Even without having visited, you may have seen it without realizing it since it was used in the movie Tommy Boy years ago (when Chris Farley is sailing and being taunted by kids). There is fishing, various types of boating, which now also includes boating at night with clear boasts that have bright neon lights around them. There are trails to walk along it too, but sadly not to go around it since city planners in their infinite wisdom years ago allowed a handful of houses to back onto the lake. There's also a some cross country trails in the wooded area for that type of running and cycling. The treetop trekking here is fantastic, but a completely different fee and business listing. But worth noting it is located here. There's an insane amount of picnicking spots. A perk with it being paid entry is that you're very likely to find a table and they even offer spots for charcoal disposal. They do offer being able rent out large spots for very big gatherings as well. They have a big splash pad and a nice large outdoor pool which has proper rope separation between shallow and deep ends. Again, the pool is quite large, so even on a busy hot Saturday in July, there was reasonable room in the shallow end - but considerably more space in the deep end. There is another fee for swimming, but it's quite reasonable. Good lifeguard ratio as well. So you've got to 'pay to play', but I also can't say there isn't value for the money. I'd highly recommend looking at an annual pass (family pass especially) which probably pays for itself within 2-3 visits here, or to any of the other TRCA conservation areas. I believe Brampton library does offer the ability to borrow a pass, but you'd want to plan ahead as I wouldn't be surprised there's holds for it.
