I've been there for some walkathon type events and that was great too. Good space for things like that. Overall a fun place to go, especially in the fall when it's so pretty with all the colored leaves. If you are in the area and aren't sure what to do, it's a great place to run or walk or even sit outside and draw or read. Not many big parks like this around. A friend likes to go there and take pics and I tag along, just cuz it's nice to get outside and walk around. I love it so I'd like to say more but I can't think of what I've forgotten to mention. I guess just keep in mind there is construction on Dundas and by the entrance right now.

The Humber River Recreational Trail goes through this park. It's a nice walk by the Humber River with lots of trees and various trails that stem from the main one. There are 2 paths; one for walking and the other for mixed use (walking, cycling, jogging). Dogs must be kept on a leash and there's plenty of signs posted advising of coyotes in the area.

There are spacious areas of grass great for picnics and photoshoots. I went on a Friday afternoon and amount of people was not a whole lot which helped with social distancing. There are a lot of geese near the pond with the turtle statue so walking in one perimeter of it was not a positive experience.

They look fun, and apparently at this park it's understood that people keep their larger outdoor toys there and let all the kids share. Very Canadian. The only reason this small, hipster-free park isn't a full five stars is because there are no bathrooms around it, and so you have to walk to Hawaii bar (Dovercourt at Hallam) or your house or a friend's house to take a pee. A pee that you will desperately need as you chug lemonade, aged grape juice and tall cans of American soda.

Happy to see everyone utilizing the space as intended. Members of the Toronto community and tourists from out of town alike - all strolling through the trails, taking in the scenery from the newest viewpoint of the Toronto Skyline by the Waterfront, it's perfect! I must've saw at least 1 bike pass me every 3 minutes. The bike trails are endless and smooth. There are multiple huge patches of grass scattered throughout the park sprinkled with small groups of families and friends gathering. Despite how many people are at the park, the place is huge and is able to absorb the crowds that oddly, it never feels crowded. Everyone very respectful of the space, helping to keep it clean. It could also be that there still aren't any food options nearby (besides Cherry Street Bbq across the street). Single file lines outside the restrooms which by the way are fully functional (not portable potties). They're fancy too! These washrooms self-clean and make announcements from within re: when the lights will automatically turn off and when the door will automatically unlock. Not your typical playground with bright play structures and slides. Instead the nature theme can be observed throughout - encouraging climbing poles, walking tight ropes that are low to the ground, and balancing between tree stumps. Multiple sand pits with running water for the ultimate sandbox experience, some even under a canopy for comfortable shade. This park is lively yet calm. What used to be a large empty space has been transformed into a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Bonus: there was a party at the club next to the park and the music can be heard throughout the entire park. It didn't take away from the peaceful experience. Instead, it enhanced it. Not too loud but audible throughout, all the park enthusiasts were be seen nodding their heads, swaying to all the great songs from Rebel!

The park is well-maintained and you can easily follow physical distancing protocols. The playground and splash pad are conveniently located side by side and would be great for kids to spend time there and enjoy summer. There are many restaurants and cafes in the area; especially the waterfront restaurants are a great place to enjoy both your meal and Skyway Bridge and Lake Ontario view.

It was raining, but I managed to snap a few photos through the passenger side of my car. It killed some time as I inched my way towards Spadina Avenue. I learned that Canoe Landing Park is a privately funded urban park in downtown Toronto, in the CityPlace neighbourhood. There was a contest to name this park. It's former name was CityPlace Park. The park has a number of fun pieces. There are artwork pieces by Douglas Coupland, such as a red canoe that you can stand in. My photos don't show it, as it's closer to the Gardiner. My photos do show a bunch of colourful, large fishing bobbers. They were cheery on a gloomy, rainy day. I also saw a poster of Terry Fox. I learned that there's a heart-shaped stone bronze artwork. It was cast from a stone retrieved by Terry's brother at the end of Terry's journey. The CityPlace Terry Fox Run starts at this park. It happens every September and is a five-kilometre run or walk, depending on what you feel like doing. The path is marked with maple leaves, which is so Canadian and helpful. There were also photos of items from Terry's family's collection, including his 1980 run. This run supports the Terry Fox Run for cancer research. This park takes up a huge block of downtown Toronto. Maybe when it's not crazy downtown on a weekday, I'd love to walk through this park and check it out more closely, including the red canoe. (141)
