There is a back party room has two tables and fits comfortably around 10 to 12 kids. I especially liked the large glass observation window, which allowed us to watch the kids while they played. Each game lasts about 18 minutes, providing a nice rhythm for the kids to cycle back to the room for snacks and drinks. However, I do have a few suggestions regarding the birthday experience and food policies. First, we were disappointed to learn we couldn't bring our own cake. My daughter was quite let down, as the provided cupcakes didn't feel quite right for a milestone 10th birthday. We were also informed that if we wanted to bring any extra food or treats, they had to be individually wrapped, which is very limiting. Additionally, our host was not very engaging. They simply explained how the room and games worked, making the experience feel a bit transactional rather than celebratory. Despite these minor issues, it was a great party overall. One thing to keep in mind is that visitors are not allowed to hold or pet the birds. However, you can feed them, and if they choose to land on your arm, that's perfectly okay. I came at 10am to see if I can register and walk in right away. They told me to come back at 11am. So I went across the street for a drink and then returned. It was a neat experience. You walk in and use hand sanitizers and get the instructions. If you're not a member you can handle the birds directly. You get a bowl of food and later can circle back to feed the fish. Some birds are outside their cages which is fun and you get some nice photos with them. The ones who ate from my bowl seemed to only really want the apples. The bowls had a mixtures of fruits and vegetables. The ones in the cages they tell you not to take out. Why? Don't know. Flight risk? For 15 bucks a person, it was a nice way to spend a hour and hear why some birds are the way they are (you'll have to ask the workers there why and they'll gladly share stories otherwise it's mostly a independent stroll through the sanctuary). I immediately noticed that this popular trail was very well maintained. I looove how there are different trails leading to Solana Beach...San Elijo Lagoon...Nature Center...under the I-5 Highway...etc. Overall, it was a memorable hike with gorgeous views, easy trailhead access, signage all around to follow and navigation through a fun sandstone slot canyon. The hike/walk leading to the narrows is pretty. There's an easier path to the top if you choose to avoid the narrows. You get the great view either way. I don't know what's worse, the etched writing in the narrows or people ahead of you using their cameras too much for social media likes. The first ladder rung at the end climb was a bit of a challenge cuz I'm 5 feet, 1 inches. Definitely a worthwhile hike. I'd say our visit lasted no more than 90 minutes. We met some friendly people and parking was easy in the quiet surrounding neighborhood.

I remember last year I barely got wet and/or dirty and I dried off fairly quick. This year was BANANAS!!! Mud, puddles, foam, water, inner tubes, slides, color, and then some. I was happy I got thru the monkey bars without falling into the water/mud pit. I was not happy that the next obstacle (foam inner tube) I was shot with foam in my face going down the water slide and I almost drowned by getting ran over by another inner tube into the water pit. WOW! Thereafter, you have the revolving balls. You have to get across by walking on the tubes without falling into the muddy water. FAIL!!! Almost drowned in 4 ft of water. Then the injury with going up the ladders. I sustained a deep cut on my knee and started to bleed. I ran pass a First Aid booth asking for a band aid and got shut down with a "we're not first aid". Then whyTF were you in the first aid booth?! My fave was the big gigantic slide at the end of the course! You dive head first down the slide. YIPEEEEE!!!!!!! I have to admit, some of the challenges were pretty intense and nuts, but it sure was a LOT OF FUN!!! By the end, we were soaking wet, muddy, foamed and colored. CRAZINESS!!! Our team started together and finished together thru all the moans, groans and pains - hand in hand crossing that finish line!!! Team Yelp represented well!!! Switching up to WIPEOUT form is so much fun when you wear a costume! I dressed up as Alan from the Hangover as best I could and surprisingly the facial hair and wig stayed on through the race thanks to some well placed super glue that burned like a MFer! The ROC obstacles were a blast! Adult sized slip and slides, wrecking balls, tarzan swings, and huge slides??? Who can ask for anything more? It's just a shame you can only go through once...officially. But the vibe from your fellow ROCstars is awesome...none of the I'm bigger, faster, stronger than you attitude. It's the ultimate fun atmosphere from start to the awesome afterparty. Speaking of which, Lucid Dossier totally rocked and took the party to the next level! Only downer for me was the free beer...Miller 64? Really!?!? I'd rather drink my own piss after a keg of Guinness! Oh yah and the so called "beast" obstacle, total waste of time and worst excuse of physical exertion.
