I love that my brain still thinks I can whip out fouettes, when in reality, I'm far from even 50% as flexible as I once was. But finding the right studio is about getting to have fun and dance. I attended a Jazz Funk class at Play Studio and it was so fun! I appreciated that the class was a challenge. This studio is suited for people with dance experience. While there are likely people here training to dance professionally, there are also people who are just here for fun. But, I like that the classes are at a level that create a challenge and keep your brain moving as you move through the choreo. I hate a boring class and this wasn't the least bit boring at all. The class moved quickly! The vibe was good and it feels like there's a nice community here. I love the variety of options they have and I'm excited to try a pom class next. The studio is located on the second floor of the building. Parking in the area is tough. Although the studio has a parking lot, there are very few spots. There are paid spots across the street, but it's tough to find a free spot, so leave yourself some time.

A lot of people complain about the parking situation, but there is always parking here. The lot is tight, but there's also an underground parking garage where the spaces are bigger and you can always find a space.

We were stressed because we only had a few weeks left before our wedding, but they were able to make it work. Liza and mark are amazing choreographers that taught us our full 2 minute dance in 4 sessions. They listened to our song the first day we went in and were able to choreograph 45 seconds on our first lesson off the top of their heads. It's nice having both Liza and Mark there to show us how to do the coupley moves and bounce ideas off each other. They were great at breaking down the dance into easy to digest steps. We are so happy with how our dance turned out. I like that they come up with the entire dance for you but that they are also very open to your ideas too, for example we saw some cute moves on tiktok that they were able to incorporate into our dance. A 13 year old had to be in charge of the class when teachers and director did not show up for more than an hour. 3.Director, Laura engages in drama with kids "at the kids level". 4. A couple of times we paid for t-shirts and never received t-shirts "or" refunds. 5. I made the huge mistake of trying to promote this place with my friend/relatives through YouTube videos on Facebook and I got paid by Laura "reporting me" on YouTube ... (if one gets reported 3 times, they cancel your YouTube account), instead of telling me to take out the videos. UNGRATEFUL ! 6. Because of the negative environment and Laura's not being capable of keeping good instructors, tardiness, poor relations and drama, "many" children decided they did not want to continue. Run !!!

Earlier this month, we saw Ibsen's "Hedda Gabler" here with Katie Holmes starring in the title roll. She was terrific. Our seats in the 4th row were We arrived early with friends and enjoyed the outdoor patio area before the doors opened. Every staff member we encountered -- from ticket office to ticketed to usher -- was personable and helpful . The Old Globe sits behind the Museum of Us. There's valet parking, but self-parking is a 5-10 minute walk away. Restrooms in the theater are on the lower level

I had the pleasure of attending August Wilson's "Fences" Theatrical Production here on 05/02/2026…read morefor the 2p matinee showing. Our 4 person group was super excited about the show. I arrived at 1:15p and it took me 35 min to find parking. As a SD Resident, I had to go online to apply and purchase a $5 Residential Parking permit. It took about 5-6 mins on the website from my phone. In the meantime, while waiting on approval for my residential permit. I had to pay $16 for parking for 2 hrs and 10mins. The show was awesome. The seats were comfortable and we were seated right in the middle of the theatre. The sound, temperature, lighting, and ambiance great here. The only issue that I have is that the 2p show attendees are not allowed to order food at intermission. Food orders must be made on a mobile app prior to going into the theatre for the show, then they are able to pick up their orders at intermission. Overall, the show was wonderful and we were able to meet the cast afterwards as they had to come out for their dinner. We tried not to hold them up, so we just sort of made sure that we let them get going after about 5-7mins. We were able to take photos. I took a star off because of the long stairwell and slow elevator to get to the downstairs restroom. Also, the food situation is a bit disappointing. Luckily, we made reservations at The Prado restaurant after the show.
