A fun and surprising place in Tucson. It is a working factory where high end dinnerware is made. 100 American made and Veteran owned. Went on their first Saturday sale which was quite popular as noted by the number of people lined up prior to opening. Most of the items were discounted quite well compared to regular prices. I purchased a few items and my favorite is a latte mug... unlike most ceramic mugs that gets super hot to the touch when you have hot liquid... this mug was warm but retained the liquid's temperature accordingly. I also bought some pretty dinnerware. Ample gravel parking. Plan to haul your items manually without a shopping cart which makes sense as you are in a working factory and don't need wandering carts crashing into the wares. If it weren't for the Tucson Foodie passport I wouldn't have known this place existed. It's so cool is they make dinnerware for restaurants here locally. It's worth noting it's hard to see from the road, you have to turn on the gravel and go through the fence. They have all kinds of goodies and it's all so beautiful! The outside area has "seconds" which are very reasonably priced and have slight imperfections. The mystery boxes were very tempting. read more

We are coming up on our 33rd wedding anniversary, and we are in need of new dishes. Since we have been married I have purchased three different sets of dishes over the years. My first set was made in USA and my last two have been made in Portugal. I wanted a new set that would last longer than the last two and I have always wanted to visit HF Coors. I knew they were a Tucson company, I knew they made all their products in Tucson. I also knew they made for restaurants all over the country and locally too. Did you know they made the dinnerware featured in the Yellowstone series?? Wow! When I went a few years ago to purchase seconds for my daughter college apartment, I fell in love with their product. But the only thing holding me back was the price. I knew I would get my monies worth because they have a very good reputation, hey if restaurants can use them they must withstand all kinds of bumps and bangs. This year I mentioned to my husband we need new dishes and he said yes I noticed some plates had chips and cracks. I told him about HF Coors and at first I thought I will just buy seconds to keep the cost down, but then I saw this pattern design called Tuscany! I feel in love! I showed them to my husband and he said that would be a great anniversary gift! So I ordered what we needed for 8 pc settings. They are gorgeous! All hand painted by artisans in their business!! The salespeople were friendly and so helpful! The order took just over a week or so. I am thrilled! I may need to order a few more place settings later...but for now 8 will be great!! On Wednesday they offer $10 tours of the facility. It's about an hour and a half. It was really neat and informative. Their dinnerware is really great quality and there's a nice variety of designs. Outside they have discounted dinnerware that didn't meet their high quality standards but is still a very good quality dinnerware. It's a great deal! read more

I'd never heard of this dinnerware factory before a friend asked if I'd like to go on a factory tour there. We've lived here almost 8 years and I didn't know this place existed! The company realizes a lot of Tucson doesn't know they are there and are trying to change that. They offer a working factory tour on Wednesdays for only $10/person. Our tour guide was very informative and we learned so much. We got to see the whole process, from mixing the clay, to creating pieces, to firing some pieces, to packaging orders. It was fascinating to see it all, and everyone was friendly, even if we were interrupting their work. They have a little store with some of their beautiful pieces, as well as a factory seconds area. The items they make are expensive, but their work is top notch, and each piece is handmade and unique. If you go on the tour, you get 10% off regularly priced items too! read more

I ordered some bowls, mugs, and a soap dish from here and was so happy with the products! There was a strange hiccup with the shipping side of things (it got redirected and went missing somehow), but they were on top of the case with the shipping company and sent me a new shipment very quickly. Despite the initial inconvenience, I would absolutely order from them again because we love their high-quality bowls and mugs and plan to complete the sets. I was nervous about shipping breakables and the condition they might arrive in, but it was all perfect and packaged so well! Quality, design, and skill behind. Let's talk about their First Saturday Sale in the Potteryard. Check their website for the day and time exactly but I'd recommend getting there early. The line starts forming an hour or two prior to open. Not only is this super fun and a rush of excitement, you can find some great deals! They are open all that Saturday morning, but to get first pick of the goods, you must get there early. Also advised to bring a bag with you to carry your goods around, but boxes and paper to wrap the dishes are provided. Prep+Pastry also provides free coffee and pastries while you wait! Take your friends and make a day out of it. Their storefront (open normal hours) is also beautiful. Many gifts and "Tucson" gems have been purchased here for full price. HF Coors makes beautiful dinnerware, there's no doubt. I just wish I had managed to get my order! I placed an order in their retail store. After hearing nothing from them for 2 weeks, I call the 800#. They have no record of my order number (clearly printed on my receipt) or an order under my name. After 5 minutes, they finally find my order. It's not ready - still waiting on the salad plates. Remember "salad plates" - this is important for later. Fine, no biggie. A week and a half later I call back. Same issue, can't find my order #, nor my name. "Did you check the website?" "No, I didn't order from the website. Plus, you're customer service, shouldn't you know regardless?" They don't have an update, will leave a message for the production supervisor to call me back. Next day I call back. Again, same thing, can't find my order #, nor my name. This lady actually suggests I called the wrong business. Finally......talk to someone to find my order. Now we're waiting on the bowls. Remember before it was "salad plates", now it's "bowls". Great. Now, I want a timeframe. She tells me, specifically, they will be painted/glazed/fired/whatever on Tuesday, ready for pickup Thursday. Fine. Call Thursday. Guess what - they're not ready. They haven't even been painted/glazed/fired/whatever. It'll be ANOTHER 2 weeks. "Manager, I'm done. Here's my card info - I want a refund." No offer to help make it right. Word to the wise....steer clear of ordering out of the retail store...at least. Very disappointed because we were looking forward to the beautiful dinnerware. read more

I was very excited to purchase my new dinnerware set from this company. I researched and read nothing but great reviews about the quality and customer service. Unfortunately I was not pleased. I ordered the Tuesday the week of thanksgiving and forgot all about Black Friday sale which most company's honor and start early. When I called the rep didn't remind me as a courtesy as I ordered $600 worth of dinnerware. When I called to follow up and ask if it could be honored they said no . My options were get a discount on another purchase or return and buy them again to get the discount!!! What a joke. I called also regarding my back ordered plates I was told that the small dessert plates were on back order but they were in my initial order. When I called to clarify what actually would be shipped or was on back order Vanessa was extremely nasty. I informed her what I had received and I was unsure if the plates were 10 1/2 which doesn't come in the 16 piece set was with the order or the 9 1/2 which comes with the 16 piece set. Her reply was "well what do you have?" Well I'm not sure and Vanessa and my order sheet does not specify. Again very nasty she says " well did you measure" um no why would I have to do that I was thinking in my head and just utterly disappointed in her tone . Once I told her about how rude she was. Nice Vanessa showed up. It was then clarified and she all of a sudden knew what was sent and what was still on back order. Dinnerware was packaged well and no damages!! So kudos to that . Dinnerware is nice but it's unfortunate to have that experience!! U.S.A. made was also a very big kudos for me but customer service was very poor. Pretty much everything is made in house. From the colors to the glazes to production molds, operation processes and equipment. They also have in-house artisans that design, make, hand finish, glaze, hand paint and high fire all of the dinnerware. Don't believe me? They give tours! The tours are only $10 a person and you get a fully guided and super informational experience. The team there really loves what they do. You'll be amazed at how much they make. Some other fun facts: they've made the coffee mugs for the Ellen Show and even make some really cool specialty items for artisans across the country that sell their goods in other outlets....like UncommonGoods, etc. This is is the real deal folks. And considering this product is 100% USA made, lead free and hand painted, the prices are really fair. They do also have monthly open tour and awesome discounts to take advantage of, the first Saturday of every month. The pride the folks that work here take in their work was heart-warming...and a dying breed in the U.S., where so much of our manufacturing goes overseas. So glad I discovered their "First Saturday" sales. I've found some great buys with barely noticeable blemishes. Their olive oil dipping dishes were $3 (they are $25 in the store). They have mugs for fifty cents to a dollar too! Be sure to get there early though as items go fast.
