If I would have been told that curling my above-the-shoulder hair was going to be an additional $33 I would not have moved forward with that. I was shocked that I was not told that at the time of styling that it would be a surcharge (and anyways, $33 to curl hair??) Writing this review to warn others of "hidden" charges. Also, I am not a member of the gym the salon is located inside and, at this latest visit, I told the front desk I was going to the salon, went upstairs, then realized one of the guys from the front desk was following me. When I went to the restroom instead of directly into the salon, he asked where I was going, I told him again I was going to the salon, and he WAITED OUTSIDE the restroom for me to come out and follow me into the salon. Bizarre. I told the salon's receptionist and she was so apologetic and told her manager immediately because this is not the first issue they've had with the front desk. I watched a handful of people throughout my entire haircut eat and snack at the color bar. The shampoo stations are located directly across from the nail salon station so the entire time I was getting my hair washed all I could smell is nail polish remover. Stood by the desk, someone asked if I needed help, I said I had a 1:30 with Micheal, then was told to sit upfront and he'd come check with me. 20 minutes later, still sitting in the front when a walk-in came in, someone went to go ask Micheal and he said 20-30 minutes and he'd be with him. So I walked back to talk to him and he was deep into coloring someone else's hair, gloves on and everything. So I asked if I still had my appointment, he said "Oh yeah," then said he'd help me in a little. He came and grabbed me finally, then immediately started accosting me about how it's my fault I didn't walk over to him. I don't live here, I don't know who he is so how could I? He continued to accost me the whole cut, lecturing me how it's my fault I had to wait, he even said he saw me in there. 3-5 minutes into the cut he asked if I wanted product. I was so confused, he hadn't done anything I wanted so I asked "are you done?" He said yes, so I repeated what I wanted, then he told me no, he wasn't going to do that and then continued doing what I didn't want for 15 more seconds, then asked how I wanted to pay. My hair is so uneven and is completely fucked up. It's so uneven and he missed parts of my hair... He also works at Scotch and Scissors apparently and tried to get me to go there and told me it'd be $65 there instead of $45 at Village 9. $65 for a 3 minute cut while getting accosted and told he wouldn't cut my hair like I asked? This man is a criminal. I really wish one of the nice ladies at Village 9 would've responded to my inquiry for a cut, they would've been head and shoulders above him.
