It seemed obvious to him that this was the right thing to do, but no other contractor I met with did this. 3. Construction was done in a single day (7 hours). 4. Sometimes I work with contracting firms where an attentive sales person asks about your project, and then a separate team (plus an annoying game of telephone) comes to actually work on the project. Not with Maldonado! At least for now Alejandro is not only figuring out the design with you but actually building the fence 5. Alejandro made several AI renderings showing the different options, which were quite helpful. I'm surprised more people aren't doing this 6. Above all I got the sense that Alejandro cares deeply about doing great work. We would absolutely work with them again

I called and also submitted a request through their website, and someone quickly followed up to schedule an estimate. Stephen arrived right on time -- actually a little earlier than the scheduled window -- and the quoting process was straightforward. I received the estimate later that same day, and their pricing was very fair and significantly better than several other quotes I had received. I approved everything online, and shortly afterward they called to schedule the work within the next couple of weeks. What impressed me just as much as the pricing was their communication and attention to detail. We had literally finished painting the exterior of our house only 4 days before the fence work, so I reached out ahead of time and asked them to take extra care around the freshly painted stucco. They responded immediately, noted it on the job, and when the crew arrived, they already knew about my concern. That kind of communication between the office and field crew gave me a lot of confidence! The crew replaced 3 gates, repaired the top of another gate, and repaired a section of fencing, all in about 4 hours. The difference is incredible. The new gates feel heavy, sturdy, and very well built, and the hinges and latches are a huge upgrade from what we had before. One detail especially impressed me: they even adjusted the bottom of our front gate -- something that wasn't part of the original scope -- to give it better clearance from the ground. Now the gate opens much wider and makes it so much easier for us to move our recycling bins in and out. It was a small detail, but exactly the kind of thing that shows they weren't just checking boxes on a work order. They paid attention to how we actually use the gate and made it better. And yes -- my freshly painted wall came through completely intact. No scratches, chips, or damage whatsoever. From the initial estimate to scheduling, communication, workmanship, and those thoughtful finishing touches, I had a great experience with Marsh Fence & Deck. Here's the thing about this crew -- and I mean every single person who showed up -- they were just genuinely friendly. Not "we want your money" friendly. Actually friendly. The kind where you don't mind them being at your house for weeks. And on top of being friendly, they actually knew what they were talking about. I asked a lot of questions. Probably too many. Nobody fumbled. Nobody gave me the blank stare. Nobody redirected me to someone else. Just straight, confident answers from people who clearly know their craft. That goes for the construction crew, the painters, and the membrane repair team. All of them. Damn consistent across the board. Now -- I'll be real with you. Their quote came in a little higher than some of the other estimates we were getting. And yeah, I side-eyed it a little at first. But here's the thing -- the other quotes were coming from general contractors. And with something like this, I didn't want a generalist. I wanted a team that actually specializes in this kind of work. And that's exactly what I got. So honestly, the higher quote made complete sense once I thought about it. You're not paying more for the same thing -- you're paying for people who actually know what the hell they're doing at a deeper level than your average contractor. And as the project grew from a partial repair into a full deck reconstruction -- which, by the way, nobody saw coming -- the cost didn't blow up the way you'd expect it to. It stayed fair. It stayed honest. Nobody tried to squeeze extra money out of a situation that was growing by the week. When you zoom out and look at the whole picture, it's a no-brainer. You get what you pay for. We do recommend having a good air filter running nearby though to pick up any stray dust. Since we're not designers, having input from both Dmitriy and Karen throughout the entire process was invaluable. There were many decisions to make during the renovation, and their expertise and experience made a huge difference. Additionally, Karen recommended some local suppliers, where we were able to source a number of our materials. Overall, we highly recommend Dmitriy and Karen for anyone looking to remodel.

**WARNING: Extra long review ^_^ I contacted Leo in 2018 to replace a fence I shared with my neighbor without knowing HH Fence was already working on another outdoor project for her. Despite receiving a couple of quotes between the neighbor and myself, we ended up choosing HH Fence together given the strong integrity shown on the existing project he was doing in the neighbor's backyard. On day of the project - Leo and his team arrived as scheduled and while his team worked diligently in removing the old fence and gates, taking care to not damage any existing trees/flowers in its way; Leo reconfirmed the gate details with both the neighbor and I in case anything had changed. Though most of the crew spoke limited English, the one member that was fluent was helpful in explaining things to his team and ensured whatever was needed from our side in Leo's absence was soundly communicated so everyone was on the same page before continuing. The overall fence and 2 gates took a little over a day due to a few boards that turned out not to be of good quality so Leo asked if his crew can return next day (Sunday) to finish the project with a new pallet of boards. This level and care of having the customer's best interest at heart provided a window to not only Leo and his company's professionalism, but also his moral character as both a businessman and a human being as he could easily have not said anything about the poor quality boards found in his pallet, installed it, collected the money and be done with it without us ever knowing anything was amiss. But he didn't. He went the extra mile to be transparent and honest - and THAT is how you not only win customers but win their loyalty too. Once the fence and gates were completed, the crew cleaned up the work areas and made sure all trash and leftover wood etc were retrieved, leaving the area much tidier than when they first arrived. Fast forward to 2021, now my other fence with another neighbor needs replacing along with the gates. Who do you think I contacted? HH Fence of course! This other neighbor had another side of her fence done by another contractor and wanted a different company to do this one (most likely because the other company didn't do as great of a job when compared to HH! =p). She asked us to obtain quotes to compare with hers since she has never done business with HH before and we also didn't want her to think we were trying to pressure her either. In the end, surprise surprise - she agreed to go with HH because of the competitive pricing and workmanship we had shared with her from our 2018 experience. Like the first fence and set of gates HH did in 2018, 2021 is no different. Crew (2 of the 6 were the same from 2018!) came as scheduled and promptly started taking apart the old fence and gates. Within an hour, new posts were already being positioned and concrete was being poured. Unlike 2018, we did not have any issues with the board quality this time so the crew finished way earlier (started at 8:30am, finished before 3pm with 30min lunch break!). Our neighbor commented how her new gate and fence looks amazing and is very happy with HH work (I'd like to say "I told you so" but I'll stay classy. LOL!). All in all, if I could give HH Fence a gazillion stars rating on Yelp, I would. That is how satisfied I am with their work.. and an added bonus - the crew member that speaks fluent English (I'm guessing it's the team supervisor?) - he has the best sense of humor once you start chatting with him! It is with great pleasure that I recommend HH to anyone that needs the best quality fencing. I can't tell you how happy I am with our new fence. It is a good-neighbor fence that borders the neighboring property, with a 2-foot retaining wall below. I looked at all the top fence contractors, and HH was the clear winner. That HH has a nearly-perfect five-star rating is well deserved. Leo the owner came out to look the project over, and was pleasant and easy to talk with. While waiting for project start date, I had questions come up that Leo did a great job of answering--he was easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. Eva, the office manager, was also very pleasant and competent to talk with. I never had to wait long for a response from either of them, and the project went smoothly from start to finish. The bid was lower than most others, was very reasonable, and totally worth it. When the install team came on-site to do the work, they were awesome. The foreman (sorry, I forgot his name) was easy to talk to, and easily accommodated my requests. It was obvious each member of the team were very competent at their portion of the job. The old fence was torn down and the new fence put up in one day! It's beautiful redwood (no white sapwood), the execution is excellent, and I look forward to enjoying it for years to come. If I could, I'd give them a 5+ rating. If I have any future projects re: wooden fencing or retaining wall, I won't use anyone else. read more

Leo and his team were amazing in rebuilding our fence that was held up by ivy and brush. The team was so efficient and focussed from the time they started to finish. Five of them showed up in the morning and all of them had assignments and knew exactly what to do. No hesitation whatsoever! Because of the slope and higher elevation on neighbor's property, they needed to construct a retaining wall and remove a huge tree stump. They did all this quickly and ahead of schedule. Other companies quoted up to four days to completed and HH Fence completed project in less than two days. Fence looks wonderful and we are completely satisfied with their work and the reasonable pricing. Would highly recommend HH for future projects. read more

He was remarkably flexible and personable throughout the job, allowing us to delay decisions so that he could mock up visual options along the way. I can confidently say that our fence suits our needs much better than it would have based on our original plan. We have since had numerous compliments on our gorgeous new fence :-) We also were very happy with the price, which was almost identical to two other very reputable fence builders.

We got 3 quotes to replace ~60 ft of fence on a slope. It needed retaining wall of 18" to 4 ft at…read morethe bottom due to the slope and shape of the ground. Scott's was the lowest of the 3 quotes so we hired him. He did an amazing job. The fence looks terrific, and the retaining wall looks extremely strong, exactly what we needed to make sure the fence will last many years. The cost ended up being around 6-7% higher than the estimate, but he warned us about that ahead of time, and it was because of legitimate uncertainty about how much retaining wall he would need to build, not really knowing until he started the work. He's friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended! We did have to wait about a month between signing the agreement and paying deposits, until he could do the work, but I don't think that's unusual and we weren't in a rush.
