With the crazy storms, our fence got blown over and with a dog and a 3 year old, we needed a fence and fast. We reached out to Jay (recommended by a neighbor) and he was out on the same day to give a quote (which was less then a former neighbors job a few months earlier). Jay and his crew replaced the fence that I share with a real estate company. He also replaced the neighbor's fence a few months ago. Jay came out to get me an estimate the day I called and had me set up for a full fence replacement within two weeks. They completed a complete vine demo, demo of exiting fence, and building a 70 foot fence and a front railing in a day! They did beautiful work and he was so down to Earth. I even asked a couple days after if we can add one more board on the bottom of the front fence he came back and added it to make sure we were completely satisfied. It was so incredibly kind. My parent's cement retaining wall came down during a huge rainstorm and it was an enormous mess! The sidewalk was blocked with broken cement and mud a few feet high. Called North Fence Co. and what happened next? They came the next day, sized it up, gave an incredible hard to beat estimate (other estimates were ridiculously expensive), and before we knew it - the mud and cement were hauled away and work began on the wall. I called North Fence Co for an estimate. It took him several days to return my initial call, then when he showed up to measure, Jay was not able to figure the cost on the spot as 4 other companies did. He said he would email the estimate right away that day. Four days later i get an email with an attachment that was blank with a note on the email that attachment would not work with apple computers. And he did not provide cost in the text of the email. If he knows that, why not ask customer up front if they use an apple computer so he can send a proper estimate that can be read. I called him to get the cost and did not remember it and said he would have to find it and get back to me. Such a run a round i've never experienced with other companies. 10 days later and still no estimate that can be read. My gut tells me it would be a mistake to follow up and hire this company - selected one of the other estimates i received from a very professional and reputable fence company. One day later - update - Jay called this morning and threatened me, demanding that i remove my yelp comments. This seems unprofessional. The next day jay visited my referral source at his place of business ( who did not know Jay , just passed on his business card) and Jay told him that i yelled and swore at him - which my referral source reported as a strange encounter and knows the allegations are not true since he's known me or 15 yrs. - we're baffled by Jay's behavior. I am exercising my right to comment on exactly what took place so that others can beware. read more

Yeah, the website is a bit dated and occasionally it takes a day or two for him to reply to a call or email, but c'mon, he's a fence- building, Harley-riding, " went fishin' '" kind of guy. No seriously, he didn't return a call for a couple days because he was *actually* out fishing with his family and didn't get cell reception. Can't blame a guy for that. When it came time to build the fence, he was all business. No pressure sales tactics, the guys just shows up, gives you his price (which was really reasonable) and that's that. Got the job done on time and the level of craftsmanship was very good. The final product exceeded our expectations and we'd definitely recommend to friends and neighbors. Recently, I planned to build a fence in my backyard, at the same time I want to repaired an old deck as well. I tried to repair the deck myself at the beginning. After I took up few pieces of the top boards, I noticed they are all rotten . This job was too big for me.
