It has been a very long time since I last had fast food. And this was a nice quick little treat! Hi Five Fried Definitely comparable to Church's and some may enjoy it more!! It has really nice savoury flavour to the batter, super crispy without it being too oily! And you can even choose spicy flavour as well! A nice alternative to your staple fried chicken chain!

As 24 hour chicken places go, HiFive24 is a great place to get your deep-fried/baked chicken fix. It is a couple dollars more expensive then their competitor Church's Chicken. But HiFive24 seems to be a small local Canadian chain. Pro: - Lots of free parking (Burnaby Location) - Friendly staff - Great crunch to the chicken even after taking it home to eat 10 minutes away. - The spicy is a good spicy! (not volcano level, but like a level 3 out of 5) Con: - Price is a bit higher then the other chains. -Freshly made chicken take a bit longer = having to wait a bit longer for freshness. (Not really a con, but when you're hungry it is) They do have lunch specials from 11AM- 2PM, plus breakfast items all day. Got a vegetarian friend? Don't worry they have veggie items too. For that past midnight craving I'd come back to HiFive24. Or avoid leaving the house and trying to find parking, I'd use one of the many delivery systems that is in place.

Worst chicken I've ever had. Maybe it could've been good, but they pre cook all their pieces, you can see in my pics 100's just sitting there. Don't blame the Uber Food driver, or Skip the Dish guy, this place cooks all their food and let it sit there forever ... Horrible Horrible Horrible The guy even had the audacity to say my sandwich was fresh, when I sat for 15 minutes watching nothing new being cooked up - straight out lied And price? Expensive for this crap...KFC can do better (what does that tell you?)...

Fiance and I can never say no to fried chicken. Whenever we're craving it, our go-to spot is HiFive Chicken. We have been here MANY times and we continue to go back. We prefer HiFive over Church's Chicken or KFC. Not only do they have delicious fried chicken, their chicken wings are also bomb (our friends had recommended wings to us a long time ago and we always HAVE TO get it every time we order now). I'm also a huge fan of their potato wedges! And of course, always gotta get a side of gravy. It always hits the spot. Comfort food at its finest!

About two years ago, a new entry into the fast-food fried chicken market opened up in Vancouver at the corner of SE Marine Drive and Main Street called HiFive24. Similar to Church's Chicken, HiFive24 operates 24-hours so you can get your fix for fried chicken at any time of the day. Unlike Church's, however, HiFive24 also offers up baked chicken in addition to fried chicken. Fast forward a couple of years and HiFive24 has opened up their second location... this time in the Crest area of Burnaby. I visited in late September shortly after they opened and ordered the 2-Piece Meal ($8.79) and added a small gravy ($1.40). The nice thing about this place is you have options for regular/spicy and for fried/baked chicken. Although I've had both baked and fried chicken from their Vancouver location, I wanted to check it out here as well to see how it stacked up. For my meal, I picked a mix of spicy deep-fried drumstick along with regular baked thigh and it came with steak-cut fries and a drink. The spicy wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be but it had a nice, crispy crunch to the skin which kept the meat on the inside very juicy. Similarly, the seasoned chicken thigh was appropriately juicy. The fries had a nice crispness to the exterior while the interior of the fries was soft and fluffy - a good combination for dipping in the gravy. Both chicken and fries were freshly made and the gravy was piping hot. All in all, it was a pretty good visit. I came back a week later and tried to order the Spicy Chicken Strips Meal ($10.99) but they were all sold out so I had to wait about 10-15 minutes for them to make a new batch. I'm not sure why I bothered to wait for the spicy version because it really wasn't very spicy (it didn't taste at all like their spicy fried chicken). While the strips themselves remind me of what you get at Church's Chicken, I was disappointed by the quality of the honey mustard sauce that came with the meal. I was a bit divided on their Home Style Spicy Chicken Sandwich Meal ($10.99 regular less $3 for the lunch special and plus $1.49 for the small gravy). For your money, you get a fairly thick piece of fried chicken sitting on a bed of lettuce and tomato. I found that some bits of the chicken were a bit stringy but that might have been due to the cut. The wedge-style fries, as on previous occasions, were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Going back to basics I returned for a 2 Piece Meal with Fries and Small Gravy but this time I made sure to get both pieces as spicy. Spicy is really the way to go here. I did have a hankering to try some of their other menu items so I ordered a 10 Piece Chicken Nuggets meal on (American) Thanksgiving... figured chicken was close enough to turkey! I was pleasantly surprised that they also gave me a bonus free chicken strip because they wanted to show me the difference between the chicken nuggets and the chicken strips. The nuggets by themselves was exactly what you would expect from processed chicken meat (not that this is a bad thing). I actually really liked the spicy dipping sauce. Overall, I think HiFive 24 is a fairly good place to fill up on your fried chicken cravings with many similarities with Church's. It's nice that they do have the option for baked chicken here but, for me, I'd stick to the fried version.

Weird residue in my fountain drink which tasted weird.

They forgot my order when I arrived to pick up. They offered me a free fountain drink, but there is some weird residue in my diet coke (photo attached). The diet coke also tasted off and lost its carbonation. Fried chicken meat was very dry and unfresh. The skin was way too greasy. I suspect it was over-fried and the chef did not change the oil on the day of. I would not recommend to anyone and would not re-visit again.

This is fairly new spot opened up in new west and I was curious to try it. I want to start off by saying it's good fried chicken. The wedge fries are amazing. Here is my breakdown on my rating: Crispiness- on point sat in car for 15 min on ride home. Still crispy throughout dinner Moisture - extremely moist inside and not dry. Service - extremely courteous and nice for fast food Taste - this is the part where it's good but almost tasted like it was slightly underflavored. Extra Spicy added a kick to it but still same taste inside Price - ok for regular price. Special 12 for 15 was a ŕeally good deal. Overall again great place price for fried chicken, although I personally prefer churches still over this. The only thing I would return here for is the wedge fries. If you are a fried chicken connoisseur check this place out!

Another alternative for getting your chicken fix. A different flavour with their chicken. You have choice of baked or fried chicken and I'd tried both and I enjoyed it. They only use 100% natural ingredients and it's Canadian owned. Good thing they open 24 hrs especially when you feel famished in the late night.

We ordered some baked chicken, fried chicken and a sandwich. The flavour of the baked chicken was quite good. However, there was nothing special about the fried chicken and the sandwich. I find that they were a bit plain. All of our food were cold so it was not satisfying to eat at all. I don't know if I would come back here again. Update: don't tell people to email you so that you could try to "win [their] business back" if you're going to ignore their email. Definitely will not be coming back here.

Time to add my voice to the chorus. This is going to be an in-depth review, so buckle in. Owner, if…read moreyou read this, you are incompetent, like your staff. Part 1: Food As many other people have mentioned, the portion sizes given at this location are absolutely dismal. Out of the handful of other Chipotle location I have eaten at, this one skimps out on EVERY ingredient. Not only are the portion sizes small, but they are also inconsistent. My wife and I ordered the exact same bowl at the EXACT same time, built by the SAME girl and we received two different bowls with varying portions of ingredients. I came back yesterday to see if it was a one-time thing, but unfortunately it was not, and was in fact, worse. Their workstation is messy and there is food spilling all over the place. Food is labelled incorrectly and looks like they aren't being rotated correctly. From the past two visits, I have tried their Steak, Carne Asada, and Barbacoa bowls, and their meats are also inconsistent. There are juicy pieces and extremely dry pieces. Some pieces are over-seasoned and some aren't seasoned at all. Their pico de gallo is rubbery and the tomatoes are over ripe indicated by the plastic texture of the skins. Their guacamole that was served to me was oxidized and not cold. Part 2: Service Employees at this location are either not trained or have goldfish brains. Half of them don't understand English and all of them don't even know the products that they're serving. During my most recent visit, my buddy ordered a Barbacoa bowl and the girl building his bowl proceeded to fill his bowl with Carnitas. She even tried to convince my buddy that he was wrong. When she passed the bowl down the line to the girl doing toppings, she put everything on the bowl without asking him what he wanted and proceeded to close the bowl WITHOUT putting in lettuce. When I was finished building my bowl (and going through a similar experience), the girl running the till did not know how to operate it. She also didn't give me any time to order chips and a drink before she asked me to pay. We asked her for a bag THREE times and she could not remember to give it to us. Staff here are incredibly incompetent and of course they belong to a certain demographic of people who are known to be useless at work. Management is also incredibly useless as they aren't even aware of their own policies and are equally incompetent like their bottom-rung employees. Part 3: Atmosphere The location is at the newly built Neighborhood 1 of The City of Lougheed. It is spacious with good natural lighting and has ample seating. And that is where the good things end. Looking at the ceiling, the lighting fixtures look unfinished and are hanging like a 2nd grade science project. As previously mentioned, the food preparation areas are dirty and lots of cross-contamination happening. The workers don't seem to care as they are laughing and chatting away in their foreign language while giving minor attention to their customers. The dining area, while having ample seating, is also messy. While yes, customers do have an unspoken shared obligation to clean up after themselves, it is not requisite for us patrons to clean the floors and the drink area. Tables are never being wiped down, the floors aren't being swept and the drink area is stickier than a toddler's toys. Overall, a terrible experience. Food is sub-par, management is useless, employees are just mindless PR drones. It is evident that the owner is trying make an extra dollar by cutting corners on cleanliness and quality. There are a lot of people talking about how the owner is cheap and mandating the limiting of portions and while this is mainly hearsay at this point in time, I am inclined to agree based on my anecdotal experience. But like PriceSmart next door, the owner is going to be a coward and not respond to the many negative reviews left here.

I know this location was very recently opened so hoping that this is a case of it being new and will get better as time goes on. We came in on a Tuesday evening around 7:30pm. The dining room was about half full with customers, but the tables that weren't occupied with people were very messy, as was the one main garbage can, overflowing with trays and dishes and looked to not have been cleaned in some time. The kitchen prep area was also very messy, and with an open concept kitchen area this is a real turn off. The staff was not super knowledgeable and had a long back and fourth on that sides came with the kids meal that I ordered. In the end it came out with one side, but when I looked at the plates of two other children dining, they both had two sides. I didn't feel like belabouring the meal as it had already taken a very long time so I just left it. Was also told there were no chips when I ordered chips and queso, but then another staff member came out and said there were chips. The food itself was better than average. Had a veggie burrito which was rolled very large and hard to eat, and the tortilla was a bit on the chewy side, but overall it was good and left me with lunch for today. Also ordered a braided beef barbacoa burrito which was better than expected. I appreciate that the chips are house made, but they were overly salty and many were chewy instead of crunchy - no beuno. The kids meal comes with a very small quesadilla, and one or two sides depending on the staff member you get. Probably won't dine here again as it was expensive for an overall sub-par experience.
