Many people either don't know about 9 Lounge or are confused about it, so I thought I'd put in my 2…read morecents to put it on the Yelp map. This is primarily a dance club. I think it's open only on weekends. I really haven't spent more than a few seconds inside because dance clubs aren't my thing. (anyone who's seen me dance, trust me, is thankful for that). But it does get fairly packed. It's run by the coolest sports bar in town, Majerles, to which it is directly connected by a single door near the back. So, if I'm not mistaken, there are actually 6 different bars/lounges right on this corner of Washington and 2nd Street downtown. EDIT: From the photo I'm looking at above, it doesn't exactly look like a dance club. Maybe I was too inebriated whenever I visited this place to understand what the hell was going on. If anyone else stops by feel free to correct me.

Apparently the confusion continues…read more I'm not sure what PT was smoking when he was at 9 Lounge but when I was there it was definitely a sports bar and not a night club! That's not to say that it doesn't turn into one at some point (I have seen sports bars turn part of their establishment into clubs- Tequila Rain on Lansdowne comes to mind) but the Suns were in town and it was just the back room of Majerle's. If the front bar is packed I would suggest sticking your head around the corner to see if its busy in the back room, there may be more room for you to stand. I say may because they have set up a bunch of tables that are quite close to the bar so you may be lingering over someone while they eat. Its really actually better to watch the game in the front room of Majerles, IMO.

Boycott is such a fun bar in Phoenix! I came here with some friends while on a bachelorette party…read moreand we had such a great time. It was the perfect place to kick off our gay bar bar-hop since it was much more low-key compared to the other spots. The music was so good, the bartender was nice, and the dancer was AMAZINGGGG. We were pretty much the only people there but she was giving us a full show. There was a DJ + a large space to dance, as well as a decent sized outdoor patio. I think it probably gets a little busier as the night goes on, but we still had a lot of fun!

I came here ALONE hoping for acceptance and kindness from my fellow humans. I was SORELY…read moreDISAPPOINTED. Only the few people who came in as customers during karaoke were amazing and wonderful. The STAFF HERE IS JUDGMENTAL AS FUCK. I just lost a ton of weight over the last year and am very tall, I came in here super cute with my followers. I was trying to have fun while being RESPECTFUL TOWARDS THOSE AROUND ME. I did NOT receive the same treatment at all. They couldn't take ANY of my cards like chime debit or PayPal, also don't have any electronic type pay at all. FYI Kindness is free maybe don't BE the HATE WE ALL see in the world. WE ARE A RAINBOW COMMUNITY FOR A REASON. All I was trying to do was find a SAFE PLACE to chill and you FUCKED THAT UP WITH YOUR JUDGEMENT (and eye rolls). That's on you, especially when I tried to have conversations and treat you with love and kindness but all I got was NEGATIVITY. That doesn't EVER create a conducive environment for LGBTQ+ humans. So CHANGE. BECOME BETTER. Our community deserves it.

Standing room concert venue (honestly my preferred venue style). This venue is on the smaller side…read moreto what I've personally been to in comparison to venues in Milwaukee and Chicago. It has similar feel to the Rave and Aragon but definitely a much more updated/new venue. Check-in security process was smooth, drinks were good we ordered the margaritas in the refillable cups but never got refills because I'm not the person that leaves there spot at the concert and it's also a fairly large drink! We were right up at the stage and during the opening act and main they actually had a beverage/bar cart come through at the security fence which I thought was pretty smart. Great sound, wonderful view from where we managed to stand, and good crowd.

The venue felt significantly oversold, to the point where it was nearly impossible to move comfortably. From where I was standing, I couldn't see the stage at all, which made it hard to enjoy the performance I came to see. Beyond just being crowded, it felt unsafe. The number of people packed into the space seemed excessive, and I genuinely question whether it exceeded fire code limits. People were standing all the way back into the bar area. Navigating through the crowd was difficult, and there didn't appear to be enough room for people to exit easily if needed. I've been to this venue since its 2017 opening and had much better experiences, but this event felt poorly managed. I hope they take crowd capacity and guest safety more seriously in the future.
