Usman and his incredibly capable crew restored and repaired my 6 story townhouse back exterior and my roof, which are made out of EIFS stucco. We had hired a structural engineer to add flashing to balconies as well as ceiling fans. When he added the fans, he cut into the EIFS and did a very poor job patching the channel he cut to hide the electric. This caused condensation inside the home and required immediate repair. Usman is a class act. He personally showed up to the project himself every single day. He also did certain parts of the project himself or was helping his men in any way he could by doing various tasks. The roof needed a sauna removal, which Usman and his crew did with extreme care, but also left lots of damage to the EIFS stucco. Usman and his team carefully repaired it. Upon repair, he inspected our roof and found many critical issues we were unaware of. It was not done in a "pushy contractor" way, it was done because he knows his business and his products so well, he wanted to figure out why the roof was requiring so much product and because he is INCREDIBLY detail oriented. It was because the EIFS was getting wet due to exposed limestone joints, which over time would have meant we would have to redo the entire EIFS (a very big and expensive job) and he also found an immediate future issue which would have caused a leak. We were able to fix and get ahead of both, while staying on the original timeline. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated Usman and his team's attention to detail from start to finish of the project. Over the past 8 years in my townhouse, I have put a lot of work into it. It is tricky to find a great contractor. One that is not only talented, but also cares about his work AND his workers!!! That is a true sign to me of a wonderful company. He not only ordered lunch for his crew, he ALSO ordered lunch for my housekeeper and myself! I kept calling my husband and telling him how kind Usman was and how thorough. He is EXTREMELY thorough. He is collaborative in the sense that he will listen to the owner (in this case me) and address any and all concerns or questions I had with thoughtfulness and care. We hadn't planned on restoring the front of my building, which is limestone, but I had a quick question about it (NOT part of the scope!) for Usman and after I received the answer, my husband and I decided to get a bid to do preventative work to restore the front using Usman and his team again. I will absolutely continue to be a repeat customer. Owning a building requires contractors and Usman and his team are absolute gems. Clean, courteous, professional, and talented. We worked with Hi Tech, specifically Usman and his crew, on basically a complete restoration and waterproofing of our entire house. They put a new layer of roof on, new limestone on the parapet, brick re-pointing, stucco repair and paint, caulking around windows, fixing a leak above a window, masonry work on the brownstone and paint, and finally masonry work around the entire perimeter of the house to waterproof. Set up a visit for an estimate. Prompt, came in a timely fashion. Tried to tell me my roof could use just a new layer of shingles without having to do a complete tear off. I told him he was wrong. In NYC only two layers of roofing are permissible. How would a third layer work out? I get in trouble, so they can make money? Also suggested that I just do the back of the home instead of the entire roof. He did send an estimate. I reminded him about what I wanted and now I have not heard back for the new estimate that would include removing all shingles. I assume he too, did not want to pull a permit for the purpose re-decking before new underlayment and shingles. What he wanted to charge me to just roof over existing is absurd. Where do these people come from? I called upon this company's assistance because they GAF Certified. Too many contractors don't know the building codes for NYC and I'm tired of telling them. Had reached out to Kamran for some guidance on a leak in my basement where water was pouring into the basement whenever we got the monsoon weather (which at this point was at least once a month). Held off on repairs since it was still winter time. Once summer came around I noticed some discoloring on my ceiling which would indicate water seeping through. I immediately contacted Kamran again to get these issues fixed and the crew came out the next day to start work. His team identified multiple cracks in the existing room and had recommended patching and applying a new layer of silicon. A full replacement wasn't needed. The house is reaching 100yrs old and Kamran had recommended tuck pointing in the front of the house that faces the sun all day. The mortar definitely started to look like sand as nothing was done with the pointing since the house was built. The team got this done a few days. So far so good! Had held off on a review to see how everything will hold up in the heavy rain. So far we already got hit with the crazy tropical storm and the tail end of a hurricane and everything is holding up just fine! Long description: I needed to remove and replace an old patio, and Hi Tech provided the best quote and got the job done quickly and professionally. Kamran came out to see the old patio, worked with me on a quote that was reasonable. Due to supply chain and materials pricing challenges there was a delay in when they could get the materials to start work, but as soon as they got it the team was in and out of my yard in 2 days. First day to remove everything from old pavers to landscape rock to misc pots of plants, then they cleaned up the space. The second (and last day) they did the pavers. They cleaned up after themselves and the efficiency and communication were great. Would def consider hiring them again for other masonry work. We had some brickwork that needed repair, and used Yelp to solicit quotes in home services, for the first time. We ultimately selected Kamran and his Hi Tech Contracting and Restoration Corp out of the contractors who responded. Kamran was the only contractor who pushed back against the scope of our request, and suggested a range of more practical alternatives based on his assessment of the condition of the house. I wish the other companies would have provided that sort of honest feedback. Kamran also provided the most detailed itemized cost estimate of the bidders. The final scope of work primarily consisted of power-washing the house, repairing a patchwork of mortar joints, and applying a brick waterproof sealer to the entire house. Kamran provided a loosely-estimated start date about a week or two in advance, with project duration and work hours, and followed up with a confirmation a few days before actually starting work. Hi Tech Contracting and Restoration aimed to impress. The job was slated to take about 1.5 days, but they did everything in one day, bringing in up to four people to simultaneously work on the house for what should have been a two-person job. They also performed some out-of-scope work: they noticed some areas were inadequately sealed and took the initiative to caulk them. For most of the day, Kamran's brother was onsite to manage the work, while Kamran regularly checked in with me via text. There was one snafu. We had to run a power cord from the house, out the front door for grinding. The guys could have some taken some extra precaution to make sure that the ensuing dust cloud from grinding wouldn't enter the house. I found him to be very prompt in communicating a quote, which was competitive with others I'd received, and hired him based on this and Yelp reviews.
