Took my car there for a transmission rebuild. They didn't fix the problem and ended up making the car worse. Didn't even make it 20 minutes down the road before it broke down and wouldn't start. On top of that the transmission fluid that was supposed to be "topped off" was bone dry. The staff and owner were very rude each time I inquired about my vehicle as it was in their shop for 3 weeks. Do not recommend taking your vehicle here if you actually want it fixed. Also they will quote you one price and charge was more than that quote. Long post...If I could leave zero stars I would. Doing business with this place is one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made. RUN FROM THIS PLACE! My experience began with me being told Hitech was the ONLY place in Chattanooga which could rebuild my transmission, and do it for 2/3 of what anyone else would charge. Several phone calls later in which I was told, "we are waiting on the parts," and 5 weeks later found a re-manufactured tranny installed with extra repairs and a price tag 20% over what a brand new, dealership installed tranny would have cost me...at the dealership! I was notified to return two weeks later for a tranny checkup. A personal issue/emergency delayed my return at three weeks instead of two with the tranny acting up. After Hitech examined the tranny, they informed me a sensor was leaking and 1/2 tranny fluid had leaked from the tranny (this was a sensor which HiTech replaced at the time of the initial tranny repair). I paid to replace the sensor (again), 2x what it would have costs me elsewhere, and relayed that there was not a drop of fluid in my driveway where the car had been parked for about 10 days while we tended to the previously mentioned out of town issue. A couple weeks (yes...a couple weeks...these guys are not fast at all) later I get the car and it continues to act up. A trip to both another tranny mechanic and a dealership led to me being told the tranny is bad. I then dropped off the car at Hitech again, relaying my findings. 5-6 weeks later I spend an entire week trying to reach them only to have them tell me they had been trying to reach me the entire time, yet I had neither a missed call nor text message (this happened continually during my dealings with Hitech). After a brief and condescending synopsis of the situation from them, I was informed that I had breached my warranty by bringing the car to him at 3 weeks instead of 2 weeks and the fluid loss was my fault (remember...no fluid in driveway where car sat for over a week and HiTech installed the "faulty" part). As a result he voided and refused to honor the warranty, telling me, "we like to deal with customers who follow directions." Stay away from this place! They stretch the truth, are incredibly condescending, will overcharge you and they have no concept of good customer service, and will ARGUE with everything you say! I do not know how they stay in business and wish I had read posted reviews before I took the car to them as an unfavorable percentage of reviews are negative and are eerily similar to mine! Let me start by saying I'm z64 years old and retired and only have my SS check to live on. took my 2013 infinity jx35 into Hi Tech transmission and electrical to get an electrical problem diagnosed and repaired. I was informed that they would call me with the information . After over a week I called them and they hadn't looked at it yet but they were gonna do it that day and would be calling me . After more than a week I called them back and they became rude and told me they didn't have anything yet . I waited another week then called back. Again they've rude and acted like they didn't know what I was talking about and they would have the owner call me. After a few more days I called again and told them it's been almost a month and I was wondering how long this would take .They informed me it hadn't been a month.( it had been 27 days ). And still couldn't tell me anything . After that I decided to go to the garage and talk face to face where it had been over a month. I talk to the guy who does that wirk and was assured he would have it done in the coming week and would call me . Needless to dsy no call . I waited about 2 weeks then decided I would just go move the car and take to another garage. I was told I would have to pay the diagnostic fee of 300.00 plus tax even though they couldn't tell me the problem. And if I didn't get it he was gonna start charging me storage in my vehicle. I offered to pay half to be compliant. And he again said if I didn't pay 3pm. 300.00 plus tax and take the car istorage would be added starting today. I had no cboice but to pay it . My car was towed by Car Shield to Hi Tech Transmission at night. I am alone with a 14 yo daughter and moved here because the death of my husband. I don't have anyone to help me. I am a teacher and l have severe Crohns disease. I called Hi Tech to see if they had a chance to look at my car yet. The owner Jason was very rude from the beginning and said my car wasn't there. I was very stressed and said it had been dropped off overnight. He said oh well it's not here. I was panicked. Then his technician said it was there. I said how do you not know what cars are on your property? He then said l was rude he had a flood and he had enough business he didn't need to service my car. I had to call car shield and the car had to be towed to another facility. I had to pay for the tow because car shield said they only pay for one tow. He put me in a very bad position l did not have the money for that. I was hysterical and stranded. Sick a horrible stressful experience. I am going to call car shield and ask why they are still contacted with him with all these complaints against home with the same behavior. read more

WOMEN BEWARE! I would reconsider if anyone recommends Hi-Tech Transmission on Brainerd. I am a woman and was treated with total disrespect from the moment I spoke to these men. My car was towed to them and the service was through CarShield. They totally overlooked that. My car went in prior to summer and only a few weeks ago did they call me. I called several times prior to them finally calling me and each time they talked to me like I had no idea of how a car or engine works. When they did finally call, they said they had an engine and started telling me the cost of each little part "You're going to need oil, gaskets and so on." I told him I understood what goes into an engine replacement and would hope they would do all that. They said it's going to be about $8000 for the work and engine. I reminded them that CarShield was doing the payment, and I had a $200 deductible. It took them months to start a claim and then they said they didn't do any diag on the engine but said my car needed a new engine. One would think doing diagnostics on the engine is usually a first step but hey what would I know? I'm just a woman, right? So, we dealt with CarShield, and they told me to call Hi-Tech and have them call back with a new claim. Well... That was not good because when I asked them to call that day I was told if they could do it that day they would or maybe the next day. I stated that I needed my car as soon as we could get it going. To please jump on it and get that going for me please. The boy/man talked to me like I was shit! A lowly woman who knows nothing about warranty claims and that there were more claims that it wasn't going to be taken care of, and it was going to be months. I told him I was tired of him disrespecting me and treating me like I was stupid. He said he didn't have to worry about how I felt I was being treated, that he had more work than he could handle and my piddly engine repair wasn't worth his time. So, he told me he wasn't going to call them at all. He tried to scare me into paying for it myself. He told me that CarShield would give me the run around and that I didn't know what I was talking about when it came to that. Quote "You have No Idea of the run around the warranty people will give." Then he told me that if I didn't like it I could go to other places but they wouldn't be any better getting it done soon either. I contacted CarShield and informed them of his disrespect and they are going to remove them from their recommendations list. NO ONE DESERVES DISRESPECT! Trust me, my feelings aren't hurt! Terrible service. I dropped my vehicle off to have a new transmission installed. Waited nine months to have it fixed. All I got were lame excuses as to why it took so long. Agreed to $386 for diagnostic. They make you sign a contract,I thought that was odd, but 386 for taking trans off and diagnostic sounds ok.After reading yelp and bbb, wanted to run. Called asked to stop work. I showed up at 7:45 next morning mechanic was taking it down, didn't stop as I asked, continued to take down. Just wanted away. They still took it down and charged a total of $ 1300 after taking down and putting back in to be towed to another shop. The $386, is what you think your in for but the charge another $900 to put it back together so it can be towed to a reputable place and there is nothing you can do. We sent our car to them almost a year ago. It took them 8 months to return the car. We asked for a rebuilt transmission and they put in a new one. After driving it for 2 weeks, the car broke down again. We took it back to them because we have a warranty and they haven't contacted us. It has been over 2 months and we haven't heard from them. 1 star is 1 star too many... Stay Away!! Spent nearly $6k on new transmission that took nearly 2 months to fix. Said he basically had to replace everything. Car ran ok for about 3-4 months had a warranty I think for 6 months. Transmission light came on so brought it back in. Of course after a week have to call to get an update and get "ohhh what broke isn't covered under warranty." So $1000 more to get it running for it only to run about 2 days before transmission light comes on again. Bring it back week later it's ready car doesn't even get home before light comes on. Bring it back and basically guy starts blaming squirrels for the problem. Just stay away. And FYI his shop looks nothing like the pics on his website. Ohhhh and while my car sat there forever someone came onto the lot and stole my license plate off the car which then required a police report. read more

What a great place. I took my car here for a new set of tires and i got a great deal. Jayson, the owner, was professional and got me taken care of immediately. The prices are very reasonable. The staff were all great and were working very hard taking care of the customers. I'm not sure why all these bad reviews on here. I experienced nothing but great service. And his wife was really great with my kids and was very knowledgeable on the services that they offer as well as what I received. I broke down late Thursday night driving from Ca to NC and Jason was the only business that answered their phone. He was courteous and told me he could look at my truck the next day. Tow truck dropped it off. As I was in the parking lot I was approached by a community member who told me I had made a poor choice to use him. I gave Jason the benefit of the doubt and called several times the next morning. Jason said that he had more business than he could handle and had not looked at the truck. It was noon. This is the most outrageously inept and deceptive business that I have ever dealt with or heard of. They will rip you off without apology or excuse. The owner fits the psychiatric definition of a sociopath to a T. My homebound, disabled father requested a transmission repair over the phone and had me drop the van at Hi-Tech. Before any assessment was even performed, 300.00 was required up front. After 2 mos., and 0 repairs, I requested to cancel the service and get a refund. The vehicle had not been touched by anyone at Hi-Tech. Request and refund denied with no explanation. There are at least 50 cars waiting for repairs there on any given day. When I asked why there were so many cars waiting, they told me it was "transmission season". Six months later, it was STILL transmission season. Three thousand $ later, the van is in worse shape than ever. The transmission is definitely not fixed. I never saw more than 2 "mechanics" at any given time. The "mechanics" were very sarcastic, rude and acted as though they may have been under the influence of some sort of stimulant or other substance. Maybe they are all just nuts. Unprofessional, lazy, non-transparency, lack of communication, i could go on and on. i dropped off my car here to have the transmission worked on, it was taking a lot longer than they had originally promised so i give them a call every 3 days or so and they always give me some vague answer such as "we are getting to it" "should be done soon". I drive by the shop two and a half weeks after i drop it off after being fed up with waiting on them and them not giving me definitive answers, and it is sitting in the exact same spot that i left it. my car had not been touched for almost three weeks. and when i went in to get my keys they could not offer anything that slightly resembled an apology. i went without my car for three weeks for nothing. Apparently he had another business called Superior Transmission that had a "F" Grade and was forced to shut down- Hi Tech Transmission has a "C-"score. After talking to several other legit places- they all informed me to count my blessing that I did not go to this place. They said most people who bring their car in- never see it again. I knew something was not right when he quoted a significantly lower price than any where else and when I called- the young girl that answered was extremely unprofessional. I work as a secretary and if I had answered the phone the way this girl did- I would be fired. I hope people read this and are not scammed by this place. Took my vehicle to Hi-Tech on Friday. Before I had my vehicle towed over there, I asked if they'd be able to look at it that day, which I was told yes. Later that afternoon, I called, and was told it would be Saturday before they could look at it. I called Saturday right before closing, and was told that they would definitely be able to look at it and tell my what's wrong early Monday. Late Monday afternoon, I called, and was again told they hadn't looked at it but they were about to do it and I would get a call shortly. I was called a little after 5, which I somehow missed the call, and when I called back, was told the guy who had all the info was gone for the day and to call at 8:30 the next morning. I called at 8:35 am Tuesday morning and the owner himself answered and said he wasn't at the shop and to call back. After kindly expressing my frustration at having to repeatedly call and not getting any answers, the owner immediately got smart with me and said "I've got more business than I can handle just based off word of mouth, if you don't want to wait until I'm ready to get with you, you can come pick up your crap and take it elsewhere". I have never received such a high level of disrespect from someone who calls themselves an owner of a business. Terrible customer service, and repeatedly gave me the run around as if I didn't matter and he really didn't care if I didn't like it or not. I can understand if I was told that it would be a few days, but I was told it would be one day, then the next, then the next. THEN I was overcharged for him towing the car. AND was finally told the parts and labor for what I needed was $800. Took it to another place that look at it the same day, was told $240. I will NEVER EVER EVER suggest this business to anyone. The price was a little high, but we were not in a position to negotiate. The Jeep dealership said the parts were on backorder & that it would be next week until he could get parts. First of all, I would like to start by saying, if you think you might use this company, READ the reviews, their responses, AND ask other mechanics and tow truck operators about this guy's reputation. It will confirm your decision to go somewhere else. My story starts off a week before Thanksgiving. When I called Jason, he roped me into having him tow my vehicle to him, FREE of charge. When I asked him questions about the transmission, he danced around the answers like a politician but he boasted about his service, his lengthy experience, and how his employees know he is the best person in Chattanooga to work for. I had a pretty common American made Transmission but in all the years he boasted about, with his experience in the transmission business, he couldn't tell me what it would cost to fix if it was a worst-case scenario. He just kept dancing around my questions without answering them until he finally convinced me to have him tow it, rip it apart, so he can tell me what the cost is. He charged me a $300.00 fee for that. Most Transmission mechanics with experience can tell you what a complete factory rebuild 4L60E transmission installed would cost as a worst-case scenario. He fixed it and I picked it up. I got about 20 miles before it started doing the same thing. He tells me it was faulty parts from the factory. He rebuilds it again. I Pick it up, I get about 7 miles before it started the same problem again. Meanwhile this was a Friday at around 4pm. I asked him if he could tow it from my office. Instead of being concerned for me stuck without a vehicle and stranded at my office, after rebuilding my transmission 2 times, he was more concerned with his tow truck not getting back on time for closing at 6pm with traffic. He refused to pick it up or help me in any way so I had to wait until Monday again. So, he rebuilds it AGAIN and tells me it was the transmission case. I drove it about 200 miles and then I drove to his place to get my checkup done which was part of the warrantee. They would not look at my transmission because I didn't have the original receipt. Meanwhile I am across town and it is difficult to get out there. Again, more concerned with covering the paperwork instead of their work and checking it for me while I was there. The guy told me they just check for leaks and fluid and it only takes 5 minutes to do. A very easy task to satisfy a customer and to make sure their work was done with quality but again more concerned with paperwork instead of the inconvenience for the customer. This time I got about 300 miles before the same problem happens again. I called him and he tried to convince me it is probably something else. I asked him if he would tow it to his place and he wanted to charge me $70.00. so I called a tow company I had used before. They gave me a bad reviews about many people who went to Hi-Tech and had major problems or was taken advantage of. Every one of the mechanics I talked to, told me VERY bad reviews about this place. I decided NOT to go back to Hi-Tech because I spent $1800 on the band aid he put on my transmission, $800.00 in rent-a-cars, my truck in his shop for a month, and getting stuck on the road with young children 3 times. I went to a place downtown. I got my transmission rebuilt, no questions asked, no bogus diagnosis fees or "free" towing. It was a fixed flat fee of $1500.00 Fixed it in a day and a half. They told me all the electronic parts were original parts, and most of the drum parts and seals were bad and never changed. DO YOUR RESEARCH! Jason will come back like he did for most of these reviews and will find fault to blame it on me. This is a pattern for him, just read the reviews. Instead of feeling terrible about doing a terrible job he will put the blame on me or find an excuse to shift it off the fact that he just ripped me off and treated me poorly as a customer. All he did was replace the bad parts and put it back together with all the original parts and seals. $1800.00 We have the proof. read more

If you can, go anywhere but here. My car ran into problems while on my way to Chicago and this was the closest shop I could find that was still open. They installed the wrong cv axle and my car made it only 100 miles (to Murfreesboro, TN) before the cv axle busted. When I looked at the old cv axle I could see where they had to grind on it to make it fit in my car. I called Hi Tech up and said how it had already broke and asked for a refund. They told me no because it was my fault the car broke and not the fact that they had the wrong part in it. Really, go anywhere but here. read more

Told me it would cost 389.00 and I would have it back in 2 days, on the 4th day, SURPRISE, they wanted a car title and a house for collateral, when I told them that I had neither, they kept my car and now I am walking. It will tell you anything you need to know. Hi-Tech has only been in Chattanooga for a little over a year and most (if not all) good reviews you read about them are fabricated by Jason Reid or his employees. You will notice, most good reviews, you cannot view the user profile, or it is the only review they have ever done. I had a small leak in my car, took it to Jason. He called, two days later and said it would $489 plus a seal ($10) and maybe a pump ($200). I was figuring about $800. I waited three days and didn't hear back. So I began to call. Another week later he finally calls me back and says it will be over $3,300!!!! I told him I did not have that, as it was a minor leak and there were no engine troubles at all, just the leak. He tried to get me in touch with a Title Loan company he does business with. I know a scam when I see it. I only paid $2,800 for the car; I was not going to pay more to get it fixed. So, he has the car. This man has found a legal way to steal people's cars. Check reviews, it is the same story that happens to every one of the negative reviews you will see. He will most likely respond to this and try to discredit me, because I have seen him do it with several real reviews. I just hope people can see through his lies and not be taken advantage of like I was. And if it is too late, remember, if you decide to sue him, you have to sue "NEW LIFE ENTERPRISES, INC. dba Hi Tech Transmission". I'd give these guys -20 stars. Car broke down on a 20 hour road trip. Gave it to these guys, we wound up having to stay 8 days before we even heard a darn thing about the car. They screwed us over 3000 bucks and wound up getting a free car because of it. Stole some of our stuff too after we'd left after 10 days.(Ipods amongst the things stolen) Spent over 1000 bucks in hotels just to be screwed over by a bunch of crooks.They were gonna charge us secret fees too. Feb 2016 Do not use this business. All of the long reviews are true trying to warn people about this incompetent owner. YES! He will offer a free tow YES! He will sound nice and knowledgable YES! He will then avoid your calls for about 3 days but give you a low ball estimate and find out if you know much about car repair THEN he will call with the real quote which will be triple original and if you agree to it it will be ready in a day or 2 BUT you WILL have the same problem almost immediately. He will come get it, charge you for the tow and tell you it's something else and quote you another charge. By that time you will have checked around and found out by every local and BBB that this is his routine. BUT that's not all!!! He will then hold your car hostage, ignore your calls and block your car in so you can't get it. We finally got it after another week.
