Bavarian Auto had our Audi Q5 for over two years. During that time they repeatedly claimed they couldn't get parts, often didn't return phone calls, and went months saying they couldn't find anyone to reprogram the computer. When we finally got the vehicle back, the original issue was never fixed. They told us that because ownership changed during that time, they were only responsible for putting the car back together. The car was returned scratched, missing floor mats, with mismatched interior trim, stains on the headliner, and the windshield still leaking--the issue that likely caused the original problem was never diagnosed. Insurance paid them for the work, but the vehicle came back in worse condition than when it went in. read more

I had my car repaired. I thought everything was fine Then came back a few months later to get another problem checked out. But then they said that I needed to get the same exact things repaired. Like what did they even do the first time for the diagnosis to be the same the second time. I'm actually believing that they didn't do anything the first time and just took my money lol. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE ALL THE WAY AROUND -- that is what you get at Bavarian Auto! A friend recommended this place to me. Best recommendation anyone has made to me in a long time. I called and made an appointment that was convenient for me. The service writers greeted me as I arrived, and finished updating and confirming the work I had requested (listened to me) to be performed. Took my key and I was on my way. A service writer kept me up-to-date (via text and call) regarding diagnosis of a problem or two I had. The three maintenance issues were addressed. Very organized process(es) appear to be in place. I didn't see any bumbling and fumbling with tickets. The service writers communicate with the mechanics and relay information about your vehicle to you. They keep good notes on the repairs, and they warranty their labor and parts (if you furnish your own parts, of course they will not warranty them...this is standard to the industry, of course). At least they don't refuse to install customer-furnished parts (like some places do). The waiting area is comfortable, and they offer you coffee, sodas, and bottled water all day long. The whole waiting area is comfortable and the whole place is well-kept. Upon pick-up of my vehicle, I found the price for all the work performed was very reasonable. There were no surprises because I was communicated with a couple times during the conductance of the work. I was not charged for anything I did not approve. Work was performed quickly and all is well. A service writer delivered my car to the door and presented me the key as another service writer was finishing up giving me the final briefing about work performed and any particular details that mattered to me. Utilized the shuttle service from Bavarian Auto and back to pick up my repaired vehicle. The shuttle service feels like a limousine service. Shuttle drivers are very professional and fun to chat with and entertaining while shuttling to/from the facility. At this time, S&S and Bavarian share the shuttle vehicles and they have their own drivers, not contractors. I have thankfully found the new service facility for my MINI Cooper! Apparently, other MINI owners in the Chattanooga metropolitan area already know this, as there were five other MINIs there for maintenance. Oh, by the way, Bavarian Auto was bought a while back by S&S Auto (Preservation Drive, off Bonny Oaks), and I am so impressed that when my Ford F-150 needs maintenance, I will make an appointment and go there. read more

So disappointed. My son's car broke down on his drive from Knoxville back to Atlanta. Had the car towed to S&S based on reviews. Needed to replace the fuel pump okay fine. Pick up the car a week later and drive back to Atlanta. Next day, the entire house smells of gasoline. Rick says to bring the car 2 hours back to the shop. Asked if I could just take to my local mechanic and either split the cost of repairs or have S&S cover if it wasn't fixed properly. Turns out, the seal wasn't installed correctly and had been crimped so had to be replaced to the tune of another $300. Rick said he was working with his manager to resolve payment. Tried following up at least a dozen times via phone/email and never got another response. Very weak customer service and when you are spending $2000 to fix a fuel pump, you would hope it would be done correctly. read more

I hope to bring my car to bavarian for better service but I'm not lucky, they only spend months of your time working on your car looking for where the damage is. but it doesn't get better they damage the remote function of my car, my car horn, I've spent $ 1000 for more than 2 months. I tell them about my horn but they have their reason. They talk nice but not responsible. I am not satisfied! read more

They did great work on my Volkswagen. Didn't take long at all, staff was great everyone I talked to was friendly. Fair pricing, they are transparent with you throughout the process. I took my Range Rover Sport in for a check engine light illumination. The culprit was diagnosed as a faulty oxygen sensor that was replaced. The majority of my interactions were with Tim who was always professional and very conscientious. From scheduling for drop off through the diagnosis, repair, and pickup process he kept me apprised the entire time and again in such a conscientious manner it stood out above and beyond even a typical professional interaction. He has even followed up more than once to make sure all was still well. Bavarian Auto will most certainly be my go to repair shop for any concerns related to my vehicle from hereto-forth. read more

Called this place A WEEK AGO explaining concerns with a project car that I just purchased . Made the appointment, was told a straight fee for the diagnosis , and a drop off time! Perfect! So I thought . . I get to the place to drop the car off, wasn't told AT ALL ABOUT THE DROP OFF PROCEDURES. Then I'm greeted by this rude man that says it's going to cost possibly 4 times the quoted $120 just to diagnose and some of the things on my car they won't touch.!? Wtf? This place "specializes" in euro cars but can't do everything to my euro car? Sounds like a scam! I will not be returning here for business ever , and would never recommend these people! This is a huge loss for them as I just moved to this area and have multiple foreign cars . So dissatisfied!!!! read more

DO NOT take your car/suv here. I wouldn't bring my lawn mower in for service here.This place is a joke. Tim was the advisor I dealt with. This went from bad to worse with this place. Took car in for repair. Kept car over a week and done nothing but took tire off. Got car back after hearing all of Tim's excuses one after another. scheduled to take back in and repair. Took in. Kept car over 2 weeks this time. they did attempt the that they specialize in and damage the car/parts by placing the parts in backwards. Tim finally admitted to this. Ordered new parts for repair. Tim advised they cover all parts by 3-year 36k mile warranty, and he stated one of my wheels was bent and to bring another in to get the full warranty, keep in mind he has had car almost a month at this point. Once arrived at shop with wheel and to pick up he advises car is lowered about 1/2' as we all know. He knows this because he has had car for a month. But among payment and after work and after stating I would get warranty if new wheel was brought in changed his mind and stated since it was lowered, I would not get it. This was at checkout. Tim is one sorry adviser for anything really. This is low down and dirty by the company to even attempt this. I should have been told up front not at check out. This really boils down to my car was never fixed right and is still having the same issues and having to be taken back in over and over for repairs they didn't know how to do. Hiring anybody and everybody to work. Scheduled again to fix what they were already supposed to fix and guess what the store was closed the day I was supposed to be there with no notification to customers so just show up and find out and waste your time off work and gas. After all this the car is still having the same issue as when I first took it in. Way to go TIM. You should quit and switch careers immediately read more

I have never written a review in my life-good or bad. This isn't really a review, but more of a word to the wise. I'm only sharing my experience. You can do with it what you will. I had my 2004 c240 towed here with transmission problems (wasn't shifting). Like you, I did my research beforehand, and decided this was a reputable place, based on reviews I read online. I took a half day off work and paid wrecker $125 to tow my car there. They called me three days later and advised me that my tranny was beyond repair, and the only fix was to rebuild it at the cost of 5k-6k. They also advised that they don't install used parts so my only option with them was to rebuild. (Charged me $350 to tell me this btw) Considering the car isn't worth much more than that, I took another half day off and paid wrecker another tow bill to have my car taken to a different German auto shop within a mile of this place, that would install a used transmission for a fraction of that. Based on what Bavarian diagnosed I had the other shop pre-order a used transmission to have ready to replace bad one-which they did. They called me back the next day and advised me that the tranny wasn't bad at all, it only had bad conductor plate, which they replaced, did an oil change and tune up for 1k. Now In two days, my car is running and shifting as well as it ever did. They didn't charge me a penny for wrongly having them order and ship the used transmission to them(and back)that wasn't needed to start with. This other German auto shop will definitely get any automotive work I need done, from now on-foreign or domestic. A good, honest mechanic is extremely hard to find. I'm not saying don't use Bavarian, I'm only suggesting that if they quote you an expensive repair, take a trip less than a mile down the road, for a second opinion, it very well may save you quite a chunk of money. It sure did me. I even offered to split the cost of their "mis-diagnosis" just to try to recover some of my lost time and wages and keep it fair for everyone. Guess what they said. Believe me it was worth every penny I paid just to find the other German auto shop. read more
