I have been an avid thrifter for a year now and haven't been able to find an authentic, y2k, and in-good-condition coach bag. (and to all my vintage coach girlies you know how hard they are to find in a thrift store fairly priced as opposed to those god awful depop resellers) I thought I could never get my hands on one until today! The owner actually gave me a $20 discount after I asked for one!! It was on the pricy side, but I also felt good about my purchase knowing that a portion of the money was going to charity. Definitely check out Cherry Door if you're in the area- you might even find your dream bag! FYI the bag I found is a Purple Soho Tote with a matching wallet. It went for $170 but i was able to bargain to $150!

Many knick knacks in a small space and you won't find any treasures or really fancy trinkets but you will find something useful and it won't cost much .The lady who operates the space is very nice and enjoys whatever questions you have about the items on display for sale . It's located right behind their Synagogue and a few blocks off Mamaroneck Ave. I'll be straight up, heading down the few steps leading to Back Door seemed sketchy- but I moved past that because I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel. Back Door isn't huge- but to their defense, they have a good handle gathering items by sections. Upscale and lower-end items are all mixed in together, so you're going to have to do a little digging. I've been doing Thrift shopping for ages- but my thing is...there ain't nothing a good dry cleaners won't do. I'm usually on the hunt for something weird and sorting through the aisles to see if I find a treasure or two. Majority of times, I've doctored up my pieces, gotten rid of buttons to replace with funkier ones, replaced lamp shades, bought large wooden pieces of whatever, etc. Then again...there's always Pinterest. Right? This is the place to haggle- and by the way- it's only CA$H. I scored a Rainbow Cuff Bracelet for $3, a few other Bracelets. Plus a bright Red and Fuschia Clutch going for $10- and in the end, got it for $6. Nice experience, wouldn't hurt me to try it again.

You might have to dig through somethings, but it's not too bad. The place is well kept and the people who manage it (I think they are all volunteers from the church?) work hard to keep the place in order. There is flow to the merchandise, with areas broken up by department. New donations are coming in on a regular basis. Every time I go, which is often, I see new donations being dropped off or being sorted and priced. The staff/volunteers are always so pleasant. It's a pleasure to shop here. It's never too crowded with customers, but there is regular customer traffic that keeps the store moderately busy. Prices are fair and around Christmas, they set up a room with Christmas specific/inspired merchandise. Kudos to Red Door!

Marianna makes her handling fee go outside of the platform, and said I should call her UPs store for a quote for the 10 lb package- when I did, they had no clue why she would say that because they couldn't give a quote without the item. I Venmo'd her the $20 and she said she would bring it. They just called and are charging me $38 for shipping and $11 for packaging. She has no business offering shipping, and this ridiculous amount makes even my $4 purchase unbelievably overpriced. perhaps she has a nice store, but I wouldn't trust her...

The treasures were endless and best of all, affordable. I still stop by now and then, hoping to recapture that thrill, but the finds are fewer. Even a beat-up beaded wallet costs about $10. These days there's a designer rack where nothing is under $100., priced more like a consignment shop than a thrift store. I was lucky to score a Prada dress and jacket a few years back--my size, a women's zero, which isn't exactly in demand. It makes me sad to see this once-humble little shop drift into high-end territory. I'll keep going though, my eye is still trained to spot something special.
