We came for DachSand, the annual Dachshund festival (nearly 300 wiener dogs on the beach) and the Hi Tide is one of the host hotels. I lived in Seaside for three years in the 1990s and it was nice to come back. The hotel looks about the same as when I used to walk and bicycle along the Prom back when i lived there. It was nice that the hotel is dog-friendly and that they waived the pet fend offered a discount for those coming to town for DachSand. We had a king room with a partial view and a kitchenette. While our room was on the side and didn't look straight out onto the beach, because the widow faced the south, we had a great view of Tillamook Head and the beach on that side. The hotel has been around since 1970, so it's not ultra-modern, but our room was clean and it appeared to have been well maintained. We didn't have any complaints. The staff was friendly and there wasn't a lot of noise. We had a good time. read more

Fireplace did not work. *THE BIG PROBLEM: NOT the hotel's fault, but we PRE-paid through Expedia several weeks before arrival. When we arrived, we discovered that the rack rate for the hotel was more than ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS LESS than what Expedia charged us! Neither party agreed to reimburse us so we feel cheated. Decided on a last minute getaway to unwind after a heavy election. 3.5 stars for location - we were on the ground floor and could hear and see the ocean waves from our room. Check in was a breeze and the staff friendly. The room was clean to my standards - modern and comfy beds and carpet exceptionally clean for a place allowing pets. The bathroom and kitchenette area could use some updating, but it will do as it's close to many restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. The boardwalk was outside our room and at night we saw many beach bon fires and people enjoying solace of the ocean. They offer breakfast- hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, bread, cereal, fruit. The bad: it was noisy - kids screaming, dogs barking, clicking noise from the electric fireplace. I would bring earplugs or headphones if you're a light sleeper. read more

This is an amazing place to stay. The ocean view is beautiful and worth every penny. They have games, movies, free breakfast and fresh baked cookies everyday. The office staff was very friendly and accommodating when we had needed a few things. It is a small walk from the main promenade of downtown Seaside. Can get there in less than 3 minutes. Some people mentioned that their hotels rooms are not updated, which is true. They have the 70's vibe sink and kitchenett, but everything works and was very clean. read more

This place is old, outdated, and desperately needs a remodel. Our "partial ocean view" was basically nonexistent unless you pressed your face against the window and tilted your head to the left. A crackhead couple decided put on a full-volume fight outside in the middle of the night, then brought the screaming inside to the room directly next to us so we were forced to listen to their fight echo through our room. The tub filled up with water while showering, and the room had no working a/c. Between the heat, the noise, and the sketchy vibe, it was hard to relax let alone sleep. Booked this for a special occasion. Stay anywhere else. 2 stars for being on the Prom and easy access to the beach. read more

I was going to give this hotel a five star until I found out that the shower is for small people only. The hotel is dog friendly, and we felt very welcome. Love the view and that they have balconies. It was our 38th wedding anniversary and my husband did the romance package and it was just beautiful they used rose rose. Petals and swans made out of towels in and rose. Petals from the door to the bed with a bottle of champagne or you could get wine, and it really was lovely, and made a great memory. Oh, and it came with a small box of chocolates. If you've never been to seaside Oregon, and there is a paved promenade that goes along the beach, that is probably 2 miles long that's why we go there! read more

Why come to the beautiful Oregon coast and not have an ocean view with steps to the beach? This is really nice with a fireplace, microwave, TV with cable channels, free movies to check out from office, 24 hours open office for check-ins, extra twin bed in room, (we didn't ask for one or need it) 2 burner electric stove, drip coffee pot with free coffee and dairy creamer, paper towels, small under counter fridge, pts and pans, no blender, salt and pepper. Ice machine down the hallway. Safeway is very close, across the main busy highway) We were comfy here for 2 nights. Checkout time is 12 noon. We got two beautiful sunny days and 67 degrees in June. A nice break from the Tucson heat. Only a couple hours from PDX. Rented an electric Kia (the larger SUV) and loved it. Many charging stations and mileage range was 240mile. There is a nice little balcony out front with 2 chairs, they have an elevator as well. Breakfast had bagels, cream cheese, 4 kinds of cereal, hard boiled eggs only, 3 kinds of yoghurt, lots of bread toasting options, butter, jelly, apples and oranges for free every morning. read more

HORRIBLE!! LET ME EXPLAIN... For starters these place is very run down and to top off they're was a cockroach in my bed along with many other dead bugs in the light. Not to mention I couldn't even see the beach from my room and there was no balcony. If you're looking for a nice place to stay DONT STAY HERE!!! Stayed one night at a partial view room on the ground floor. We checked in around 730 pm and got our keys quick. The room had two queen beds and a kitchenette.  The hotel had cookies in the lobby. I especially liked the chocolate chip cookies.  The stay was comfortable and since the hotel is on the Promenade it was easy to walk to the beach and to the town.  The bathroom looked older (think yellow) but everything was in working order.  Staff was friendly, lots of parking, and great location.  Would stay here again. read more

We weren't sure about whether or not the accommodations would be okay. The staff was super, the view from our room was to die for, and the breakfast was great. While the facilities are a bit dated, our room was incredibly clean. The only drawback was that there was no air conditioning during a heat wave (it hit 95 the day we were there); there was a fan that didn't really help. Based on Alyson's response, I have upped this hotel from three-stars to four-star and deleted the unnecessary (garbage) photos of a handful of hair clogged in the bathtub. It's not necessarily, and I rather focus on the positivities. My wife and I got a beachfront view and loved it. There are multiple ice-making machines, and the free coffee available, based on my observations in the morning and around 6 pm when the front desk gives out free baked cookies. So, this is a plus for me. I'd book this hotel again. BTW, we stayed for two nights then spent another night at Cannon Beach. If we knew the firework was at Seaside we would have booked another night there. It would be the perfect view of the firework from where we stayed. Thank you. read more

FIRST OF ALL WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. THE place was a dump and we didn't get the accommodations we booked on Booking.com. We paid $1000 for nothing. We paid for 2 King beds in both rooms and got misplaced over in some other bullshit rundown hokey building across the street with our rooms NOT side by side which I was reassured that morning. The bed was adequate. We hated the pool was in a separate building all the way across the street but was kept up as well as the hot tub. The pilot light was continuously on in the fireplace...a hazard! NO AIR CONDITIONING in the rooms, but a ragedy fan. The toilet was lowered it seems. And the back of our door was so chipped off, it looks like someone tried to claw their way out. Our room faced the street, no privacy. Housekeeping did bring a roll away bed but the staff spoke no English but was polite. It was horrible nothing like the pictures or description online. Not returning. Very disappointed. read more

Pleasantly surprised how nice this place was. Our only problem is when you book with booking.com they give you the stinky rooms across the street; not on the ocean. It was noisy and the rooms were old. They actually lend you DVDs that you can play in the room; opted in and watched "Will you Marry Me". Slept well and breakfast was the usual, but nice to have. So my wife and I really needed a vacation!! We decided to come to Seaside Oregon. My wife booked us a great room here! After a very long almost 10 hour drive from Paradise CA. We had a good night sleep and some Uber food from McDonalds. The water pressure is pretty good!! And lots of hot water!! Today we will scope out the area! Having a great relaxing time so far!! Every worker here is so friendly and awesome!! The gas fireplace is awesome and beautiful!! But it hasn't been cold enough yet to use it!! read more

Absolutely loved this place. It felt familiar and cozy and not too pretentious. It is not an updated place as far as aesthetics go, but it's ridiculously clean! The beds are super comfy! I always check all the corners and am pretty finicky when it comes to cleanliness and this place IS CLEAN! Get an oceanfront view and a fireplace and snuggle up to the sound of the waves. Came here with our Camaro Club , 12 people! We had several rooms , all nearby each other. It was a bit busy and loud in the nite as people came home and seemed to feel free of talking loudly outside tho. Eh ... prob drunk lol!! Breakfast was ok. We stayed for three nights and had a great time. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful for recommending some places. The place is showing its age, for sure, but everything was clean. We had a king bed room with full ocean view from its second floor balcony. We could see right past the ocean-front promenade over the dunes to the beach and the ocean. Sunsets were magnificent! The promenade only has access stairs to the dunes every few blocks, so it was great for me (limited endurance) that one of these access points is right off the motel lawn. There is a spigot by the sidewalk by the side of the building to wash sand off feet, doggy paws, kids' backsides, and whatever else. The building does have an elevator which would have been a deal-breaker for me if it didn't. A variety of fresh cookies are available in the lobby at 6 each evening. The motel is within easy walking distance along the promenade from the fun tourist-trap downtown, including the Aquarium. (Feeding the harbor seals was a hoot and a half!!) My husband VERY much appreciated that the coffee pot was a *real* coffee pot, not a K-cup type, and the motel provides packets of coffee for it. There is a screen door on the balcony door. Downsides that didn't matter that much to us, but might to others: There was no real "landing space" for luggage, just one folding luggage rack. The bathroom was tiny with almost no counter space by the sink. There was almost no counter space in the mini-kitchenette. The inside chairs at the table were hard. The mattress was very firm, and high. There is no table on the balcony to set drinks or anything on, although the Adirondack chairs are comfortable. There is no a/c, but there was a large fan in the room; putting it in the main door blowing in and opening the balcony door got the room cooled down reasonably well before bedtime, but we could only do that because we were on the very end room at a dead end; I would never do it in a more centrally located room with foot traffic going by. And, like virtually every hotel I've ever stayed in, room lighting was inadequate, though I did appreciate having the reading lights suspended so that they did not occupy any precious nightstand space. There are limited outlets, so if you need to plug in, say, CPAPs on both sides and phone chargers, etc. by the bed, you're pretty much out of luck. (We brought extension cords and multi-outlets.) read more

Walking distance to the downtown area. The downside was that the hotel itself is super run down. Peeling paint, chipped tiles, teeny bathroom, stained carpet. Terrible pillows. The Hi-Tide Oceanfront Inn is one of our favourite places at Seaside. Firstly, the staff are super friendly and are a joy to chat with. It seems that they enjoy working there. They perpetuate a small-town community vibe. We were there once near Halloween and the staff all did jack 'o lanterns which was super cute. The second reason why we come here is the value. The rooms have a small stove, sink, microwave and fridge so you can prepare basic meals without having to eat out. They have a complimentary breakfast which is adequate, although it would be great if they had a hot waffle station or something like that at some point. They have free coffee throughout the day (which is actually decent!), and home baked cookies after 6PM. Wow! The hotel is on the quieter side of the promenade which I like, and is no-smoking. Like a lot of places in Seaside, the decor is a little dated, but it is very clean and relatively well maintained. Usually while we're there, we see staff constantly working on the upkeep. I think the philosophy is: "if it ain't broke, why replace it". If you think about it, why add to the landfills when you don't need to? Ok, I'm on board with that. Aside from the dated decor, the rooms are really nice and spacious. Most of them are right on the promenade, facing the ocean. You can hear the ocean with the sliding glass door open because you're a stone's throw from the beach. They also come with a gas fireplace, and a table with chairs. No complaints on the comfort of the bed. We've tried a few hotels at Seaside and found a real diamond in the rough with the Hi-Tide. We love it so much here, we've planned to get married on the beach nearby and have our family stay at the hotel as well. We've been liaising with Brooke for our group and she has been super helpful. I love seaside. I love the town, the beach, the charming storefronts and all the things. However this was not high on my list of places to stay. If I'm being honest, when we come back into town we won't stay here. This place is in desperate need of a remodel, to bring them into this century. Our room was a dated mustard yellow color and while it was clean, it was old. The fireplace was a joke, I radiated more heat than it did. The shower was either too hot or too cold, no in between. The breakfast was pitiful, unless you love gas station pastries and cereal. When you don't eat carbohydrates, you don't get a breakfast there. The people were friendly enough and the price wasn't outrageous but, I wasn't impressed. read more

Consider this your warning! The pictures online looked decent and I liked the waterfront location. Much to my surprise upon checking in, I was told that my room was across the street in a totally different building. This place made Motel 6 look like the Ritz! When I opened the door, the stench was overwhelming. I can't even describe the awful smell. I immediately opened the windows and kept them open the entire time, but it didn't help. On top of that, it would take 6-10 flushes to get the toilet to flush. This was the ultimate bait and switch! Beware of their deceptive advertising practices. Save yourself the hassle and find somewhere else to stay. Alyson, your reply is a poor attempt to place the blame on me. You really should educate yourself on your HotelTonight listing and said confirmation letter. 1) The HotelTonight listing makes no mention of a Beach Drive Building. It list the 30 Ave G address and highlights the 64 room capacity. The address nor the capacity are reflective of the Beach Drive Building. 2) The only confirmation letter I received was from HotelTonight. Once again, there is no mention on the Beach Drive Building. You can point the finger at me all you want, but there is no way that I would've known that I booked a room in that rundown Beach Drive Building. Your advertising practices are deceptive. You need to do your due diligence and inspect what you expect. It's your responsibility. read more

This place was recommended as a dog-friendly hotel by a friend, and did not disappoint. While it was a little worn and dingy (but very clean), that made me feel better about having my dog there and getting things a little sandy. We splurged on a partial beach view and access, and liked that we were close to the promenade. It was great for taking my dog out in the middle of the night, and for taking walks every day! The fireplace was super cozy, the bed was comfy, and there were a small assortment of kitchen amenities that were super helpful. Nice hot water in the shower, and a tiny balcony that was nice for dog watching and sitting outside to read. I really appreciate all the precautions they took for COVID. My only complaint was that there were not comfy chairs in our room for reading in. But for the price we got everything else we could need. Definitely would consider staying here again! read more

The hotel was well prepared during COVID-19. They limited the amount of people in the lobby, required masks, had masks in case you needed one, and had sanitizer at the desk. Very nice customer service. The side of the hotel that is closer to the prom is by far the better side to stay on. Really good location being close to the beach and downtown. Only reason it's not a five star is that they really need AC in the room. The summer is the most popular time to come down and can get really hot and/or humid. read more

The motel is somewhat dated (gold fixtures in the bathroom and older carpet) but it is right on the ocean (you can let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep), is very inexpensive, very clean, has free wifi and a decent continental breakfast. They even have cookies and coffee available at check in between certain hours. It is also within walking distance of downtown Seaside, so plenty of shops and restaurants, even a small aquarium nearby. The beds are comfortable, the view is unbeatable, and if you are traveling on a budget, you will want to check in here. read more

For $198 a night for the oceanfront room I loved the view and the size of the room but hopefully soon they remodel and updates the very worn out rooms.
