We've stayed here a few times and it's a nice hotel. We always go on a groupon so the price is reasonable. We always get an ocean front room so the view is great. The free b'fast is "ok" but nothing spectacular. Every evening they have coffee and cookies in the lobby which is very nice. The rooms are comfortable, well appointed and clean. They are slowly renovating the rooms which is a needed improvement. The staff is very cheerful, helpful and accommodating. read more

My husband & I stayed 2 nights in Aug during the week (Tues & Wed nights). Originally booked one night, but after deciding to spend a second night the lady at the front desk figured it out so we didn't have to switch rooms. Ocean view rooms are awesome, spectacular view! No a/c in the rooms, however with the patio door open and had a provided fan, we were totally comfortable. They have a very light breakfast in the office...coffee & rolls, but they also serve cookies later on in the evenings. We didn't use the pool, but it looked nice. Very short stroll down the promenade to the restaurants & shopping. Beach access is right there, just cross the prom and you're on the path through the seagrass and on the beach. Great deal for the money! Cheapest ocean view room we could find, little older resort but just adds to the charm. The staff were all super, need anything...just ask! For the price I expected the worn carpet. The room design was good, the beds were ok, and the room generally seemed clean. The tubs in both rooms were chipped to the point that no one in our family would want to take a bath in them. There was some mold on the walls and ceiling and the large mirror in the shower/toilet room (which kind of gave my wife the creeps) was seriously corroded. The exterior of the building was good. The small kitchens are a bonus. Except for some plumbing noise the rooms were quiet at night. Unexpectedly for a mid October week day the hotel was booked up and we got the last two connecting rooms on the first floor. Even though we were on the first floor we could still see the ocean. The problem was that there is a boardwalk right in front of the hotel, the sliding glass door. The only way to have a view or get air into the room is to have the room fully exposed to the view of all those walking past. I also couldn't see a way to look the doors partially open to allow ventilation on the rare but still occurring warm days on the Oregon coast. I was very impressed with the staff on all of my interactions with them, the hotel is located within walking distance of the little, bustling, downtown area, restaurants, and the beach. I would stay here again on the upper floors for the price but a little TLC would make it more enjoyable. read more

Was very pleased with the size of the room and the location. Walking distance to the Prom yet not smack dab in the middle of all the people, a plus. The room is slightly outdated, but who cares, I'm not buying the place! The room has a kitchenette and a fireplace ( another plus). The balcony saw a lot of us as it was wonderful to have coffee in the AM on the balcony as well as sitting on the balcony and watching the sun go down in the evenings. My 2 complaints were: beds were soft and the housekeeper made only one of the two beds for our 2nd night stay (but her tip-or lack thereof- reflected this). The pool room was nice. The pool was bathtub warm....love it! The jacuzzi was enjoyed as well. The staff were very pleasant and helpful (minus housekeeper). The room was well sound proofed, as there were partiers downstairs but when I closed balcony doors it was quiet. There are DVDs to rent, free pastries in the AM and free cookies in the PM. read more

We were so lucky to find a room here during a busy spring break week. However the luck turned into probably the worst experience ever. The room was definitely not worth $280. Tiny tv, sandpaper sheets, and the bathroom was awful. I'm guessing the good reviews have never stayed at a hotel that warrants a $280 a night price. Be warned that when taking a shower. You will experience cold and scorching hot water changes. We had the worst time trying to sleep as well. The in-room fireplace was filling the room with natural gas. We called down to the front desk, and were told to blow the pilot light out. We blew the pilot light out as recommended. Still smelled gas. We had to open the sliding door and point a fan into the fireplace to get some relief from the gas. Needless to say, we were up all night. Might have been better off sleeping in our 4Runner. read more

They have gas fireplace in room, this room had little dining table 2 chairs, little kitchen of microwave, small frig, sink, dish wear. Great breakfast from 7:30-10:30. Good Hrs. 4 kinds of fruits, pastries, Cereals hot and cold, hard boiled eggs and yogurts. Free DVD player in room and Assorted movies to pick from at front desk. Such a disappointment! The hotel is very old and rundown. The bathrooms desperately need an update! Hotel claims to be non smoking yet they put the large ashtray right outside the elevator and the bottom of the stairs, almost every time we came in or out someone was standing there smoking. The breakfast area was very small, only a few tables to sit at. On the positive the hotel is beachfront with amazing sunset views! The rooms were large and clean despite how very out of date and rundown. That's the only reason for two stars versus one. My recommendation is to keep looking elsewhere! read more

I absolutely cannot say one bad thing about our wonderful experience here I should have done this review back in August when we stayed there for our 20th Anniversary we could have gone anywhere but we chose seaside our favorite place. We got the Romance package and it was just beautiful and magical the way they had the roses and swans all over. The lovely Prosecco wine chocolates and salt water taffy they had waiting for us was just beautiful. The room was cute yes a little out dated but still really cute and VERY CLEAN.. the bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in in a hotel.. They gave us a lovely little gift basket for my doggy a d accommodated him as well.. It's a great location beautiful ocean views absolutely amazing kind and caring staff that made our stay even more special.. I will return 100% for sure I can't thank you all and the owners of the hi-tide for making our anniversary weekend soo memorable .. Well be seeing you all soon.. read more

The photos really made it look so appealing. The price I paid for this place I regret paying $40 more to go down the street to the Holiday Inn Express. The place smelled so much like dog, the bathroom was so outdated and the floors were cracked. House keeping left the previous people's snack in the cabinet and our toiletries were not replaced with new ones. The shampoo was almost empty. The whole place needs a new facelift. The ice machine was right outside our room but in the open air right next to a smoking area with an ashtray. The breakfast didn't have much of a selection. The waffles were frozen waffles and left uncovered and so were the muffins. Definitely not making this a place go stay next time. The only up side was the beach was right there. read more

I wanted to give this a better rating, due to the seaside location, balcony and great beds. Staff was great as well. I could not get into room on time as toilet had issues but was offered another room with non working fireplace for a lower rate. That was ok, however, the carpets were horrid. Big nasty stains. I may not have been as bothered had this been a cheap motel, however, when you charge $200 a night, you notice things. And due to the pandemic, I feel that if you are not taking care of the "noticeable" things, what else are you not taking care of. Plus, one of the outlets is coming out of the wall, which could be a danger. If taking care of the cleanliness issue, this place would be great. read more

Staying here was a great stay overall. The breakfast accommodations are really nice for it being "complimentary" with a nice, cozy eating/common area in the hotel lobby. A good selection when it comes to checking out 2 free dvds, pool and jacuzzi were really nice as well. Unfortunately, our room was never cleaned by housekeeping. Housekeeping came by early in the day and we tried to tell her that we weren't ready yet but we would be gone within the hour. Well, she spoke absolutely NO English whatsoever and I was hoping maybe she kind of understood what I was saying. Left for a few hours and once we were back, we realized housekeeping never came back. I would HIGHLY suggest the hotel providing doorknob signs that indicate privacy and/or ready for housekeeping. I would also suggest employing housekeepers who are bi-lingual. She eventually came back and asked if we wanted our hotel clean now. Well no... we didn't. We wanted to relax in our hotel. Fortunately my boyfriend knew a little Spanish and that's how we got through the second conversation with her. Overall it was a great stay and my boyfriend proposed the 2nd night we were there!! read more

Very outdated. The bathrooms were fresh out of the 1970's and the floor was stained from mold. The pool was cloudy, dirty and overcrowded! The king size bed was very comfortable, although we had to ask for extra pillows (which took over an hour to get) because the pillows were old and flat. Location is great. Right on the beach and only about 3 blocks from center and shops. The breakfast was ok. I expected a waffle maker, but it was thawed waffles on a tray with toasters. Other options were decent; cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, muffins. The employees were very nice. All were very friendly. They even made fresh baked cookies at 6:00 pm. Overall, cheap hotel and we will stay elsewhere next time. read more

If you overlook the fact that rooms are about 25-35 years overdue for a remodel then I would give this place 4+ stars... was difficult to find a room with ocean view in Seaside for under $200 for summer weekend with less than 2 weeks notice. Pros: -location right on the Promenade with ocean view and balcony with slider. It was amazing to hear and sea the waves and feel the cool ocean breeze from the room and balcony. Room was clean. Beach was very close you can't get any closer than this -perks include free breakfast with pancakes, hard boiled eggs, pastries, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal, cream cheese, fresh fruit, juice, tea, and coffee; firewood $6 per bundle (for your beach campfire), free dvd rental (rooms have DVD players and WiFi), free fresh baked cookies every evening; sparkling clean indoor pool and spa - comfortable beds Cons- room badly outdated walking into the room made me think of Brady Bunch show. Sink and tub had chips taken out and walls needs painting badly. No A/C only a fan sitting on the floor next to the fireplace. About 3 block walk to the Main Street with all the shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. I'd stay here again if the price was right. read more

We had a good time at this hotel and I certainly appreciated the lower rates over other options near this location. We had a snafu with our reservation that the hotel staff took care of (the issue was mine, not theirs). We also had a broken chair on our deck that they quickly replaced. That broken chair was, alas, emblematic of the condition of this hotel. It is older and the rooms are inconsistent in their upkeep. We wound up in two different rooms (again, our fault), so we got to see this in action. A few specifics: - broken track lights in the first room so that you couldn't rotate and set them where you wanted them. An old CRT TV in the first room, but a nice HD flat screen in the second. A small fridge in the first room was very unbalanced and "fell" forward every time you opened and closed it. The toilet in the second room had a seat and lid of a completely different color than the rest of the toilet. These are all minor issues, of course. And these issues were offset by very nice bedding that was almost jarring in contrast to the somewhat worn state of the fixtures. Overall we liked it for the price and might stay again given that and the location. read more

Had a pleasant stay here for one night. Paid around 86 bucks, I think it's the Spring Special. Pluses are that it's clean, decently priced, nice walking distance from the Promenade and Broadway Street (Where all the food and shops are), pool and jacuuzi are clean and open til 10 p.m, and nice staff. The only complaints I have are the "continental breakfast" only consists of packaged danishes and muffins, apples and oranges, and coffee, tea, and juice. Not what comes to mind when they advertise a continental breakfast (I read reviews beforehand and it saved me the disappointment for the morning and planned ahead), and my partial view room has somebody's house next to it, so even being on the second floor, I felt like I was either looking into their house, or the people in the house were looking at me. Kept the curtains shut for most of the day, sadly. I personally would stay here again but request a full view room in hopes to have more privacy. Just don't come here expecting glamour or anything, the building looks very old. read more

Reserved this motel because it was advertised as "King Bed with a View" and it was off the main drag so thought it might be quite. Perfect. When I got to my room the "view" was of a creepy run down apartment building. The mattress had to be ancient. The smell of the room was sour and the window wouldn't open. Did not sleep at all. My granddaughter and I could not get out of there fast enough. The management took my money, gave me my keys and did not make eye contact. Seemed un-approachable. Pluses were that the room seemed to be as clean as it was possible to get it. Will not return. read more

We stayed there for 3 nights. It is literally right on the beach. I've listed the pros and cons below but there is a special mention that deserves a paragraph. We scheduled two nights about 1 month before our trip and another night 2 weeks before our trip. The additional day was for a day tacked on to the beginning on our trip. They couldn't put both reservations in the same room, which was understandable. When we arrived, I asked if we could just stay in our same room, and not have to switch rooms, which didn't seem unreasonable, but they were fully booked. I didn't think it would happen, but about an hour of working things around and looking at reservations they were able to make it happen! A lot of work for a little request that meant a lot. Way to go Hi-Tide! Pros: -Right on the beach, literally 20 feet off the property -Great customer service. The people weren't fake happy, they were authentically interacting with us, which was awesome. -The small continental breakfast wasn't that small -The rooms were clean and well organized. -BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!!! -I wouldn't hesitate going there again. Cons: -The room decor was dated, like 1980's dated -No room service -The outside of the place isn't appealing, but it is clean -The walls are a little thin -The balcony's aren't that private -WiFi is a little spotty read more

We LOVE Hi Tide!! I really appreciate excellent customer service and Hi Tide delivers. We originally booked for 2 nights and added a 3rd night because we enjoyed the quiet seclusion of a September stay in Seaside so much. When we first arrived to town, we didn't have reservations anywhere and were pleasantly surprised that Hi Tide had an oceanview room ground floor available at a very good price! We were literally steps away from the Ocean, had a gas fireplace, a balcony, free continental breakfast, fresh hot cookies in the evening (though we never got in there at the right time, the hotel staff was always asking us if we want some), free DVDs in the lobby, hot tub, pool, and a small kitchenette and refrigerator in the room. As said in other reviews, yes, the rooms are a little outdated and the TV is an old tube TV, but we didn't come to watch television and the most important part of a hotel room, the bed, was fantastic. We slept very well with the patio door open overnight listening to the crashing waves. Also, every time we needed anything from the front desk, they delivered. At one point, we needed help with the DVD player and I swear the maintenance man was outside our door waiting for us to call him. The continental breakfast always had food late in the morning unlike other hotels where nothing is left and the staff gave us many dinner recommendations during our stay. The only downside was the coffee. If you are a coffee drinker, then you might think about bringing your own. The lobby coffee is available 24 hours a day, but it very weak for an avid addict like my boyfriend. Also, the hotel is dog friendly so we had an issue with a couple yipping dogs next door. However, after hearing them off and on all night, one visit to the front desk and we never heard from them again. We are already talking about returing to Seaside and wouldn't stay anywhere else! read more

We stayed in the smaller building across the street from the main hotel--which I liked. It was quiet and parking was easy in the small lot. Room. The room in which we stayed included modern beds, a flat screen, DVD player, internet access (that was a bit spotty, but did the job), and all the things you'd need to cook (if you wanted to do that). The sink was outside the bathroom--which I really liked--and the countertop was four times longer than any I've seen in a hotel. Although some of the bathroom fixtures were outdated (by decades), who really cares? All we wanted was a clean place to rest and take a shower. Staff. The staff were super friendly. They let you check out DVDs (for free) and in the evening they bake cookies. Breakfast. Breakfast is included--another big plus. It was pretty much the standard, self-serve, but was still more than I'd eat at home. And it saves you from having to walk to some over-priced, tourist trap,restaurant and wasting your vacation time. Location. It's only a block from the beach and a few blocks from the main street. Dogs. They welcome dogs. The room had a basket with treats, a bowl, towels and a sheet your dog could use for sleeping. I would stay here again the next time I want to visit Seaside. read more

I have to say, I wasn't expecting much when I booked this room for the annual Seaside Soccer in the Sand tournament. After all, it was the last room available. It was a single king room, and I had visions of sleeping on the floor while my daughter and her teammate had use of the bed. Checking in was a breeze except we we there too early, check out is 12 noon while you can't check in until 4. We arrived at 2p. I was asked for my phone and was told I'd get a call when the room was ready. (The call never came - minus half a star). While we wandered aimlessly through seaside looking for sand socks hit the girls, thankfully there was a car show the next day, so I got a few pictures of the cars coming in a day early. When we finally decided to return to the hotel around 3:30, it was ready and we headed off to the room. I had visions of a 1st floor corner unit next to the pet area. But instead we got the top floor, with a beautiful view of the beach. The room was spacious and could have been a double King room. They had brought a small bed for me to use and even with the small bed in place, there was more than enough room for all our stuff we brought with us. This was a kitchen unit complete with a gas fireplace, although mostly just for looks, as it barely flamed and didn't seem to throw off any heat. The only other reason they lost the other half star was due to the cramped breakfast area in their main office. there's a 12x6 seating area and continental bar trying to accommodate kids, parents and the poor attendant who was trying to keep up with everything. Nice rooms, nice pool, run by nice people it's not expensive ( about $150/night in high season ) is very clean, and right on one of the best parts of the outer banks. very convenient to walk to restaurants, bars, shopping, and a quick drive to anywhere you need to go. We stay here every year for a week or so before or after our house rental. read more

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. It was so nice to be right on the beach. You really can walk right out to the beach from the hotel. The room was slightly outdated, but we didnt plan to spend much time inside anyway. We had a king room with a partial view and it was very nice. The room was clean and even had plates and cups available in the small kitchenette area. We really appreciated the ability to have our dogs stay with us. We will gladly stay here again if the pet policy remains the same. The breakfast was ok but a little disappointing. There was way too many bread options and not enough protein. Having a meat option would be nice for low carb diets. The price was great for being right on the beach though and overall was a good option. read more

They have a great breakfast in the morning, there's a big selection of things to eat and drink. The pool and hot tub are also a wonderful feature. Nothing fancy, just your basic motel room. Walking distance to Broadway, but far enough away from the noise. A little outdated, the bathroom could use some updating and the shower-head sucked. My only complaints are too-soft mattresses and the pop machine was empty. Staff was super nice and when I phoned the front desk about a burned out light bulb and dead batteries in the TV remote (both of which occurred during my stay; I didn't check-in with them that way), it took less than two minutes for the maintenance man to come knocking on my door. The only thing that confuses me is that my 2-for-1 coupon still gave me a bill for $175. Can't believe they get that much per night. read more
