And sat ourselves. Everyone seemed to know everyone and I felt slightly ignored. The waitress noticed us and took our drink order. She said there is no menu and to look at the wall, the specials are on the wall. There were 5 options for dinner. They all sounded good. She said she'd take our order once she came back with our drinks. By the time she came back with our drinks each meal option had been erased one by one and we were told dinner was sold out. They offered we could buy a bag of chips. So now I have a gin and tonic on an empty stomach with no dinner option. Plus I was getting a headache with most patrons smoking cigarettes and eating at the same time. My drink was good. We chugged our drinks and went elsewhere for dinner. Dinner must have been good since it sold out . The locals love this place so that's good . Maybe next time we can get there before 6p.

The Shell Bar is, in a word, Wyoming's "Cheers." if you remember that award-winning TV series or…read moreyou've caught it in re-runs, you know its appeal is much more than the setting; it was the characters who made the show a smash hit. In my opinion, the same applies to the Shell Bar. Now don't get me wrong, the setting in tiny rustic Shell Wyoming is awesomely scenic and refreshingly serene. And the completely rebuilt bar, designed as an homage to the structure that historically occupied the same footprint, is nothing short of spectacular. But just like "Cheers," it's the people who make the Shell Bar the kind of place "where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came." The newly redesigned, completely rebuilt and recently (July 2024?) reopened Shell Bar was just getting going for limited hours a few nights a week when we visited in August, but it was bustling with locals and out-of-town visitors alike. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, fun and inclusive; nobody is allowed to be a stranger for long! While Wyoming is famous for its cowboys/cowgirls (or is it "cowpersons?"), and there's no shortage of authentic Wyomingites at the Shell Bar, you'll find them friendly, easy-going and more than happy to tell you interesting stories of life in their rugged, landlocked state. Even if you're not a card-carrying member of a certain political party that dominates the state (guilty as charged), you'll be welcomed respectfully and as a friend. The Shell Bar does have a full kitchen and I believe the owners have plans to eventually offer food made on the premises, but for now they seem to be happy hosting a variety of rotating local food vendors who feature their delicious fare each night the Shell Bar is open. As for libations, this place has it all. From several beers on tap and an even more options in bottles/cans, to wine, cocktails, soft drinks and more, Shell Bar has what you want. Their liquor selection (including an impressive range of Scotch whiskeys), is top shelf and their prices are quite reasonable, particularly compared to what we are all paying in more urban drinking establishments. The bottom line is that if you find yourself anywhere near the feet of the gorgeous Big Horn mountains, stop by the Shell Bar for a memorable visit to a true local gem. "You wanna go where people know, people are all the same. You wanna go where everybody knows your name."

[Review is based on camping experience] Ten Sleep Brewing Co…read morehas a really nice vibe and very picturesque. We camped here for one night on our way to Mount Rushmore. It was $18 + tax for a tent site which came out to be $23.79. $3 per person per showers which are located behind the brewery. Drinking water inside brewery available for fill ups and only during business hours. There are 2 port-a-potties by the tent sites, 4 port-a-potties outside the brewery and 2 bathroom stalls inside the brewery. Located outside is a dishwashing and charging station. We bought two beers for $7.50/pint. We didn't try the food here, but was told it's just basic "last ditch" frozen pizza and pretzels. The brewery hosts events on certain nights and have food trucks some times. We just happened to stay here when nothing was going on. We would've liked this spot more if the tent spots were further apart. People in the tent spot next to us came in around midnight and woke us up for almost an hour with their loud whispering while unpacking and barking dog which woke up our dogs. The tent spots were close enough that we can hear neighbors move around in their tents. Unfortunately, that whole thing put a damper on our experience.

This was a very pleasant and drinkable beer. Flavors and highlights to be on the lookout for with this beer are crispness ,clean and sweet. The beer is smooth yet is light bodied which makes this ale so very drinkable!
