The service was excellent, and the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere inviting. The food was amazing! I am usually the first one finished, but I took my time today and savored every single bite, eyes closed, a smile on my face, and a sigh of contentment. The menu isn't extensive but the items are homemade and not prepackaged or commercially prepared. The plain hamburger was just that - plain, nothing special, but the chili burgers were a big surprise. We tried the green chili and the red, both being very good and obviously homemade. The chilies really improved on the burger. It had been a decade or so since I've eaten a chili burger and I wasn't disappointed. They boast homemade pies which interested us, but we did not try after gorging on our main meals. We chatted with Lacy to learn that this is a family affair: her brother is the cook and this was mom's dream to have a place of her own to serve the community. When in Basin, you can't go wrong with a stop at Sandy's place for an honest down-home meal.
