The old bartender took my order and gave me a brief history of this iconic saloon. The fries were OK. They were made from hand cut potatoes and fried to a deep golden brown. They were a little oily and not crispy. I suspect they were cooked in a skillet. For me it was not about the food as much as it was about the ambiance and history that goes with it.
