This KOA is also a Drive-In

This is now a KOA holiday. The place was super clean. The movie weekends are what we went for a drive in experience while you camp?!? How fun. Movies are old family favorites they had the wizard of oz and hop playing the weekend we stayed. Close to Winston Safari park and convenient stop for heading on to the south coast. Would stay again. Something to know. 1. No fire-pits 2. Check In before closing so you can rent the gas heaters. 3. Bring shower shoe's it's quite slippery in the bathroom. 4. Have an amazing time :)

This may be the nicest KOA we've ever been to. The park is super clean and well-maintained. Sites are level and graveled. Many have FHU, but we opted for EW only with 30A service. The sites all have a little privacy patio which comes with a table and 2 chairs. There is a nice fenced dog park, playground, basketball court, horseshoe pits, disc golf and the main feature - a drive-in movie screen where they show family-friendly movies at night. Many sites can watch the movie from their patios, but there is also a grassy viewing area with chairs, propane fire pits, corn hole games, etc. The snack bar sells candy and other snacks, but popcorn is free, courtesy of the park. The staff members we encountered were all friendly and customer-service oriented. Altogether this is a really nice place to stay while traveling I-5 and it's a fun place for families.

Only RV park with it's own drive in movie screen!!!

Cool campground. It has its' own drive in movie theatre complete with complementary popcorn. They also have horseshoes and a gameroom. Laundry facilities are clean as are the showers along with an abundance of hot water. The site only had a 30 amp service with water and tv hookups and separate dump station. From the appearance of other people I assume are long term renters that some of the sites have 50 amp service and likely sewer onsite though not conformed. I'll update review if I find out. They are Good Sam and Passport affiliated though Passport not accepted April thru Sept as well as Fri-Sun.

Free popcorn for movie watchers! (We bought the wine at their little store!)

This place rocks! We came only for one night but look forward to returning and making this a home base to explore the area. The park is clean and the employees are super friendly. It is built on the grounds of a former drive in movie theater so we were even treated to a free movie on the night if our stay (call for schedule....it isnt every night). Great location and convenient as well. Highly recommend planning a short stay if you plan to visit Oregon!

Garbage pickup at 5:40 in the morning waking us up. Who scheduled this. If quiet hours are from 8-10 they are violating their own rules.

Realistically the drive is 40 minutes off of I-5 or about an hour from the coast. This place is a…read morevacation destination for RV travelers who want swimming, tubing, and boat access to a river. A big plus is that the park is family-run by a husband/wife team who are very accommodating. They charge by the number of guests visiting but that covers the water, electricity that you will be using while there so I think that is fair. They offer clean restrooms and showers and a small laundry room (bring your quarters - $1.75 to wash/$2 to dry), plus a dog park, covered picnic pavilion, BBQ, and sink for cleaning fish. There is daily ice delivery for a small fee and the owner delivered a free cool treat to the kids (with parent's permission) one hot Saturday afternoon. It truly felt like we were in a rustic resort. The RV sites are lined up somewhat close to each other but offer enough room and privacy to make it comfortable. The park is very quiet and you will find it silent at night. You will not find tent camping here, nor will you find long-term RV tenants. The grounds are clean and rustic but well kept. We met many nice families, many who are locals who visit this park to get away from their coastal towns. The river access is by rocky boat ramp, though a rustic dirt path that lead down to the river, or by another boat ramp that was unpaved. The river had shallow rocks to sit on and sunbathe or wade out around and was deeper in the center. Small kids could play, find tadpoles, fish, swim, or kayak safely near the shore. We also noticed a few adults fishing too. It was fun playing on the river and the owners have a few tubes and kayaks to use but I recommend you bring your own river "toys" to guarantee you have what you need for your enjoyment. Also there are no close-by stores, so pack up all the food and supplies that you need for your trip and prepare to be off the grid for your visit. There is no camp store or café on site. Spotty cell reception only allowed us to receive and send a few texts. As others have said, do not expect Wi-Fi or cable here. Overall, two nights were not enough as we had such a good time on the river. If it wasn't so far away from home, we would definitely make this a regular summer destination.

We rented the cabin as relatives stayed in the RV park and had the best time which was aided by the owner, who was super helpful. The cabin is isolated from the rv's in an open field next to some shady trees. It features four twin beds (2 up in a loft). There is a couple of chairs, shelfs, a heater, a usb port for mild charging, a swing on the porch a gas bbq and a firepit with some wood and kindling. They thoughtfully provide a few odds and ends such as lighter fluid, briquets and bug spray (that was not needed). It's clean and functional and perfect for a weekend of roughing it, without sleeping on the ground. The owner called it a tent when we booked it, which is not the case. I'm sure he was setting our expectations so not to expect a standard motel accommodation. It was plenty warm at night and all the windows captured the breeze in the day. Also, bring your own pillows and sleeping bags. The only negative is the bathroom which is an outhouse across the field. The normal bathrooms with showers are about a 3 minute walk into the RV park. They are very clean and the hot water just keeps coming! This is where there is a laundry room (don't forget to bring quarters) and a great fish cleaning sink. Once again, they provided some helpful stuff here. The RV spots are pull through with a picnic table and a full hookups overlooking the river. This proximity cannot be understated as it is beautiful. It is quiet as well, great place to get your fish gear together and watch the running water. There is no separation between the spots, so friendly conversations with your neighbor is a sure bet. There is a lighted common picnic area and shade cover with a bbq provided as well as a corn-hole pitch game. We are planning on coming back next year with a large group and using this as a gathering place. Plenty of safe areas for kids to swim as well as great fishing. Our group caught a load of fish the first day from canoes. I think there is some equipment you can rent here. There is a small boat launch and ample parking for day guest. Our large group cannot say enough good things about the hands-on owner of the resort. He comes by occasionally to check that all is well. He provided river whistles (a requirement when tubing in Oregon) and a couple of life jackets as we ran short. We understand the prior owner was more laid back and some of the camp got run down. That is not the case now, as everything was in great shape. By the way, cell services is really spotty here, so don't plan on being connected to your social media. Just enjoy the river.

This isn't a luxury park with water slides or lazy rivers but this is the place if you want to relax and enjoy nature. It is lovely park with grass, trees and a creek. There are trees and bushes between sites making you feel more private. Price is very good. It's easy to get to off I-5. There are big rig sites and many are extra long allowing you to stay hooked up in your site for a quick overnight. The most important, for me, is to support a family owned business and not a big corporation. Service is wonderful. They have a website and are so nice when you call because you prefer talking to a person. If they don't answer because there are out of the office, they call back which isn't always the case at other parks.

We were on the road and couldn't get away from overgrown bushes due to other vehicles in their sites. When we got to our site we looked at our three month old Brinkley to see scratches down the side of it. We were furious and no one was in the office to talk to. This place is very tight when driving through. People have their vehicles past their drive space and there's not a lot of room once you disconnect from your RV. Ours is 42' long plus the length of the truck. We had to angle the truck to park it. Guess what they were doing the day we were leaving. You guessed it, a tree service was there cutting down branches and trimming the giant bushes that were overgrown. Not sure how that helps us

There are two laundry rooms, as well as clean and convenient showers and bathrooms. The manager, Josh, and the maintenance manager, Casey, do an outstanding job of making residents feel welcome. They add a personal touch to their interactions with everyone who calls this park home, which really sets this place apart. Thorough background checks ensure a safe and friendly community, and even the overnight guests seem to leave with smiles on their faces based on what I've observed. For visitors, I highly recommend requesting spaces 1, 2, or 3. These spacious pull-through spots are perfect for larger rigs and are conveniently located closer to the boat ramp and beaches. As I always suggest, ask Josh for tips on the best fishing spots on the river. He's a great resource for finding hot spots for steelhead, salmon, and bass.

I was surprised to learn the freeway isn't as loud as you would expecting being so close to it. I am disappointed in a couple of things that keep coming up: The showers and bathrooms are not very clean. They seem to get a light cleaning regularly, but not a deep scrub, and the smell of mold/mildew is persistent. ***Owners took off door stops to showers residents used to he8lp air them out, and now it's almost impossible to breath in the showers because the mold/mildew smell is so strong. There is a huge issue with garbage-there isn't enough dumpsters or they don't get picked up often enough, so there is always garbage outside of the dumpster until the host comes and jumps on it to make it compact down enough to fit (OSHA hazard!!) Water is a huge issue in this park, between the owners being upset with how much we use in our spaces to the sprinklers not watering grass but the road we drive in to the fact that drinking the tap water actually gives me heartburn! I am so excited to see this place continue to improve, from what I understand this place used to have a lot of problems but honestly those are the only issues I see! The host did try hard to be on top of all the details, and was always open to hearing what's going on in the park. ***There is no longer any host to the park because of "Covid-19 restrictions" being imposed on businesses. It's all faceless and online to book a stay, and there is an email posted and message phone for contacting the owners for any issues.
