Last Sunday, my boyfriend, my mom, and my grandma and I decided to eat at a Chinese buffet in Columbus, GA. My family has eaten here ever since I was in high school, but the renovations made inside of the buffet, as well as the food upgrades, made it seem like it was my first time ever eating there. Entering the buffet we noticed a strong teriyaki scent that was pretty appetizing. The buffet itself had a pretty welcoming atmosphere even though it was extremely busy. We were seated pretty quickly and throughout our time at the buffet we were attended to by the waiters very quickly for refills or to pick up our dirty dishes. The buffet seemed to be pretty clean as well and the utensils used were all washable except for the napkins and straws. My plates consisted of various types of sushi, seafood, vegetables, noodles, rice, salads, and ice cream. For my drink I just got a sweet tea and a water. Bland food, with no seasonings (except clam/mussel/sausage entree). Shrimp was mushy and had a weird taste to it. Waitress was nice and attentive, so I left a tip for her. Blue crab was mushy when meat was present. 30 mins after eating, I have a stomach ache. Will not return. read more

We're visiting from out of town and the person we're visiting suggested this place. We had finished eating and we're getting ready to leave, so I asked for a container so my 6 year old, finicky eating grandson could take the food THAT WAS ALREADY ON HIS PLATE with us (some noodles, rice, and strawberries.) There were no plans to get additional food whatsoever. I was told that I'd need to pay by weight or $6.99 TO TAKE THE FOOD WE ALREADY HAD ON A PLATE with us. Effectively paying for it twice. But, 'if we do it for one person, we'll have to do it for everyone.' I'm willing to bet they do a lot for those they want to. A lot of food, which is a good price if you just want to eat a lot of bland food, except the rice and noodles. Those weren't bad. Service was okay. They were polite, even as I grumbled about paying twice for the food. (Barely worth paying for once for and I won't be paying again as I won't be visiting again). This is the only buffet I've ever been to where we weren't allowed to take what my grandson had not finished eating. I would understand if I wanted to go refill the plate again and take that but we only wanted to take what was already on the plate and was going to be thrown away later anyway. Absolutely terrible! We came it at dinner time. Many trays were out of food, definitely had been sitting all day. I was almost scared to eat the food due to just the looks of some of it. My son and I returned our fountain sodas 2 times because they were flat. I was pretty disappointed as this was my son's last dinner of his family pass before I had to bring him back to Ft Benning. Went right when they opened. Food was decent, not great. Sushi just tastes weird, slightly mushy, like it's been sitting awhile but they just opened. Hibachi is something I'd skip if I went again. You do not get any choice in sauces and they put a liberal amount of water on your food to steam. When I got my plate of food, there was practically no flavor to the food and by the time I ate some of it, there was water on my plate. Felt bad but I couldn't eat it, not even soy sauce could save it. Service is great. Waitress was very attentive and got refills quickly and took away places fast. read more

A good food selection and a hibachi grill where you can create your own raw entree and they cook it for you while you wait. The staff is nice and quickly clean and set tables for the next guests. Nice atmosphere. I just wish they set out food more often but maybe my visit was at 7 pm and they were preparing for the slow down to closing was the reason. A nice place to eat. Like going there because of variety. Visited yesterday, Oct. 16, 2024. Sat in a new spot and the waitress Coco was her first day. She was wonderful...smiling, polite, asked if everything was okay. Return to show she cared about me. I hand gave her a double tip, not on my ticket to give. Your Manager, others who run the cash register need to learn English so you can conversate with your thousands of guests that help you survive. Show you are interested in your customers besides getting their money. Coco sets the example. I have been visiting Hibachi since day one. Love the music, like the Holiday decorations that you put up. Please see your customers as people who care , not care for me cause I am filling your pocket. Speak and talk and give a true smile that you care. Something had to have been wrong with the food. I was throwing up before getting home. It must have been food poisoning, lasted about 24 hours. Right after mine ran its course, my boyfriend started doing the same thing. We need restaurants with more love added to their cooking and service. read more

As Chinese buffets go.....this one was GOOD! We visited right at lunch time on a Friday. It was pretty busy, but not packed. We were seated right away and placed our drink orders immediately. I tried the hibachi grill, so was able to pick all the ingredients I liked. There was no wait on the grill, so I soon had my custom order. They had tons of options on the buffet. Usual stuff like General Tso's, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Egg rolls, Gyoza, rice, steamer clams, crawfish, peel & eat shrimp. Also, american food like pizza, mac n'cheese. I tried the sushi - it was very tasty. Hubs really liked the tapioca pudding, he's a bit of a connoisseur. I liked the mini donuts covered in sugar. They also had an ice cream counter. The food was so fresh and delicious. There were 6 types of soup, including seafood soup and kimchi soup. I love soup, and these were so good. The fried fish was seasoned perfectly. My daughter loved the steamed buns with taro. We will definitely be back! read more

Front lady was extremely rude. My 5 yr old said Hi to her and she mocked him and mocked his voice/tone while scrunching her face like she was super annoyed. She mocked him by making the face that people usually do to mimic people with special needs. My 5 yr old is in speech class fyi. Me and my husband both were thinking maybe it was a fluke. So she walks us to our table and we politely ask if we could be in the other area that's closer to the buffet. She responds that my family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens, our 5yr old) couldn't fit at the other tables. Mind you the tables all seat 6 people. Extremely rude and unfortunately is the first person to greet people as soon as they come in with her extremely rude attitude. This is probably my 4th time going there and thankfully haven't had to deal with her in the past but this most recent visit (yesterday 4/6/2023) put a dark cloud over our family dinner outing. I can't believe someone so rude would be a greeter. We also observed her being rude to other people. The food was delicious as always. The lady who made our drinks and took our plates was absolutely fantastic. Very kind and attentive. We tipped her well. Unfortunately the greeter kind of ruined the dinner. If I'm spending $92 for our dinner, I expect to at least have a pleasant experience and not be greeted with rudeness. First time going to the hibachi Grill and buffet overall pleasant experience however, some of the items were cold, so I don't know if they are paying attention to their heating elements or not on the Buffay. The sushi was good for Buffay style. Nothing fancy if you want sushi go to somewhere else that specializes in making sushi Hibachi was good just didn't have a lot of items. The egg drop soup is really good. The hot and sour soup was like dirty dishwater though the pink lemonade was good the Coke was good. The service was fairly well enjoyed however, upon entry they were not very inviting and didn't draw any attention for us to continue coming in. There's a fountain not pictured a small one in the foyer area that has a picture that says do not put trash in here, but it is filled with trash and it's very unpleasing to see overall would come again, but not for a sushi that isn't up to par, and they need to fix the heating elements in a Buffay. read more

As far as buffets go. This one is pretty good. Came for early dinner Sunday. Lots of selections, sushi section was ok...but they had fresh oysters and steamed shrimp which made up for it... have about 7 sections plus hibachi and cold bar...see pics. Even had steak at hibachi.. not bad for all that for $15. read more

There's an endless variety of foods, definitely something for everybody! From salads to seafood, there is plenty to choose from to fill you up! Unfortunately I can only give three stars as many of the selections were cold or luke warm. The steam tables were working, just not enough to keep the food nice and hot. We were there around 4:30 and it wasn't busy yet so maybe it was lunch leftovers? I was definitely impressed with the selection though and the service was spot on. The place is huge with a ton of seating for any size group! It was also nice that they spread people out too so you're not sitting on top of each other. The restaurant is very clean and well decorated, perfect to enjoy a family outing. I highly recommend a bowl of egg drop soup with fresh and crispy wonton and fresh green onions sprinkled on top! They food is bland and subpar, even for a buffet. Its over priced also. If that isn't enough, the flies on the sushi and the hair in the ice cream may deter you.
