Truly a home away from home. I was craving noodles, & this place came up on my search. I'm glad I gave it a try because they do their job & do it oh so well. Broths were absolutely delicious! (Mild packs a punch, so if you're wanting a little spice, this may be more than plenty.) I'm so glad we got soup dumplings because they were SO GOOD & wouldn't be complete without a mix of soy sauce, dark vinegar, & chili oil, which they provide on each table. AND THEIR BOBA OMG. The freshest, right out of the pot! The warmth of the boba & the refreshing taro milk tea, they knew I was coming. There is truly nothing more satisfying than a perfect milk tea & fresh toppings. Thank you Red 8 for your welcome & warmth :)

Chicken and broccoli. It was just okay.

Honestly, I really liked Mizu ramen but when we decided to try the new menu under Red 8, it was pretty disappointing. The food was overpriced and simply did not taste very good. It was mostly just bland. The ramen is still a safe bet, but everything else we ordered was just okay. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes or maybe it wasn't their best night. I try to give people/places the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I don't think I would eat here again except to get ramen.

Mizu Ramen is now Red 8 Kitchen and the food is even better! It felt good seeing familiar faces and the assistant manager Isabella was such a gem. She was the individual who gave us the run down on the new dishes available. My daughter and I LOVED our entrees and look forward to dining here again soon.

    Tokyo Hot Ramen

Red8 Kitchen continues to blow me away every time I visit -- this is easily one of the best hidden gems in Columbus, GA. The Tokyo Hot Ramen is rich, spicy, and packed with deep flavor -- the kind of bowl that warms you from the inside out. The garlic chicken ramen is just as impressive, super savory with a smooth, comforting broth and tender chicken that tastes like it was slow-prepped instead of rushed. The orange chicken is honestly gorgeous. It comes out plated like a centerpiece -- glossy, crisp, and vibrant -- and tastes even better than it looks. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and full of bright citrus flavor. I also tried the takoyaki, and it was done beautifully -- crispy on the outside, soft and creamy inside, with toppings that actually complement instead of overwhelm. You can tell they use quality ingredients and don't cut corners. But the star surprise for me was the shui zhu yu -- unbelievably flavorful, aromatic, and full of that deep, chili-forward warmth without being heavy or greasy. The fish is perfectly tender and absorbs all the spices in a way that feels restaurant-quality and homestyle at the same time. It's one of those dishes that makes you realize how underrated this place is. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is genuinely friendly -- not the forced "scripted" kind of service you get at big chains, but the type where people actually remember you and treat you like a regular. It feels personal in the best way. Between the food, the presentation, the consistency, and the kindness of the staff, Red8 Kitchen delivers every single time. Columbus needed a spot like this -- and I'm so glad it exists. Highly recommend!

Tonight I went with a very nice poke at the very chill and sanitary POKEMEN. This place has all of the ambience of an ice cream parlor. It's very stripped down very minimalist in it style. It is in a small strip center that appears to be populated mostly by finance companies and staffing agencies. It is a nice part of town, but not the best part of town. There is a nailed place and a Chiropractor I think. Let's get to the main event. The poke is awesome. I use brown rice as a base and then went with spicy tuna. I went large so I got four scoops of fish and let me tell you this was some really good poke. I added cucumbers, onions cilantro , pineapple, so mine had a really sweet flavor to it and I also had them put some tempura crunchy over the top of it. It was in my opinion the best bowl of poke I have ever had. That is saying something as I have had tuna poke all over the southeast And the West Coast and up the Atlantic seaboard. It is one of my favorite dishes. I think the fact that everything was ice cold, and the place was incredibly sanitary, added to my enjoyment. All of the vegetables were fresh. All of the fruit was cold. The fish was cold. The rice was the right consistency. Nothing was dried out, nothing was wilted, and everything tasted as it should. There were a lot of young people coming in having dinner, it's near an anytime fitness center so you do get to see a lot of fit young people that are enjoying a good healthy meal. They also have Ramen, it's a spicy Korean Ramen, which I wanted to have a small bowl of, but it only comes in one size bowl. It's not a huge, but it was more than I needed after having a large poke. I would go back again and again, this is my third trip to this restaurant in the last two years, I think it's a good place and I recommended.

Restaurant-style Japanese ramen is a very different creature than the dried stuff you get for…read more30¢/pack and boil at home. Unfortunately, Mizu Ramen resembles the latter. Tonkotsu ramen's basic flavor profile is fat, salt, and (in the case of black tonkotsu) garlic. It is an incredibly rich, salty, and filling dish. The broth should be creamy as a result of all the fat, collagen, and gelatin extracted by cooking pork bones for over a long period. Mizu Ramen is none of these things. It is a thin, watery dish devoid of flavor. Either the base of the soup was not cooked long enough, or they're cheaped out on the amount of bones used. I found myself pouring soy sauce into it just to make it somewhat salty. You don't even get a shaker of furikake or some vinegar for the table! While Mizu avoids a 1 star rating on account of the fact that it's not disgusting and the service isn't bad per se, I cannot recommend it as a much better ramen chain, UMAMI, is only 7 minutes away.
