What a beautiful restaurant inside and outside with really nice Chinese/Japanese decor! What an amazing treat to find a place that serves both Chinese and Japanese cuisine. As a Chinese-American myself, I was so shocked to see such a huge menu where they had such a rich diversity of dishes, and they were all so good and authentic! We ordered so many dishes (just the two of us haha, probably forgot to include some pictures). The key is to order and eat "family style" meaning you share everything. Now, granted, you might not want to share cause everything is so good and you'll want it for yourself. There's something for everyone, so if you're a food veteran (or just a veteran in general- thank you for your service), or a newbie, there's such a large menu, I promise you'll find something you'll like. They also serve teas/milk teas/boba! We got the Mongolian beef, pork belly rice bowl, chicken and potato (spicy btw- also watch out for the ginger), and garlic pork Xiao long bao (they have instructions on the table for how to eat it). Service is also really incredible- I didn't get to ask his name but the kind Filipino server was so so wonderful! Very attentive, made great conversation, and made our dinner experience that much better :) he recognized my boyfriend from how often he used to come here! Will definitely be back again when I visit town again. Also- take this from a native Houstonian/Texan with a vast array of experience with Asian cuisine. We thought because it was such a nicely decorated restaurant. It was going to be as good as the food in Chamblee. This was not the case our $65 order was pretty tasteless and so soy sauce would not fix that Maybe to go is different than eating there, but we won't take another chance Soup dumplings lacked authentic taste we always are able to get locally or in Chamblee . We've been back here a few times now and as someone who is pretty picky with asian restaurants, I'm happy to say I'm thoroughly impressed with the food and service, especially for this area. We've tried the ramen bowls, soup dumplings, shredded pork dish, etc. The ramen bowls were ok, but definitely better than a lot of the other restaurants around here. My favorite is the BOILED BEEF WITH SPECIAL SAUCE. Do not get this if you can not handle heat. I love it! So spicy and delicious with the beef and vegetables. Truly a home away from home. I was craving noodles, & this place came up on my search. I'm glad I gave it a try because they do their job & do it oh so well. Broths were absolutely delicious! (Mild packs a punch, so if you're wanting a little spice, this may be more than plenty.) Honestly, I really liked Mizu ramen but when we decided to try the new menu under Red 8, it was pretty disappointing. The food was overpriced and simply did not taste very good. It was mostly just bland. The ramen is still a safe bet, but everything else we ordered was just okay. Maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes or maybe it wasn't their best night. I try to give people/places the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I don't think I would eat here again except to get ramen. read more

This place is a treasure. We've been to Columbus for various Fort Benning graduations and always grab a meal here (at least once) every time. The menu offers a variety of options, from Raman to traditional Chinese favorites, there is something for everyone. The service is attentive and informative without being intrusive. The staff is happy to explain items and answer questions about the menu. The restaurant has a quaint and clean seating area. The whole place comes together and is not loud at all. I remember when this place used to be Mizu Ramen -- it has changed since then and now offers a wider variety of dishes, but personally, I still come for the ramen. Red8 Kitchen continues to blow me away every time I visit -- this is easily one of the best hidden gems in Columbus, GA. The Tokyo Hot Ramen is rich, spicy, and packed with deep flavor -- the kind of bowl that warms you from the inside out. The garlic chicken ramen is just as impressive, super savory with a smooth, comforting broth and tender chicken that tastes like it was slow-prepped instead of rushed. The orange chicken is honestly gorgeous. It comes out plated like a centerpiece -- glossy, crisp, and vibrant -- and tastes even better than it looks. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and full of bright citrus flavor. Food: Outstanding! I tried their Vegan Ramen and it took me by surprise. The tofu chunks in the ramen actually absorbed the flavor of the broth very well, which in my experience, is rare at most local restaurants that serve soups that contain tofu. The broth had a wonderful smooth, almost creamy texture and a vibrant flavor. The noodles were cooked to perfection and the flavors of the fried onions, vegetables and the broth came together to make a delightful meal. Service: Good. The service wasn't particularly special, but the staff did a good job. Ambiance: 10/10 the walls are adorned with beautiful art and impressive interior architecture and the restaurant made very efficient and effective use of the medium sized space that they had to work with. We had spicy pork soup dumplings, shredded pork with garlic sauce (added spicy) and spicy stir fried beef with chili sauce and fried rice. So, I went with my friend and her husband, and the food my friend's husband really likes, it's pretty good, it used to be called Mizu Ramen. However, the service that we received was far From good. It was subpar to say the least, period. We came maybe two hours before the restaurant was about to close, and the entire time, the waiters and staff was just staring at us. I mean, we weren't wearing anything unprofessional. We're all in the medical field, and we were wearing normal casual clothes. But I apologize for coming towards the later end of the day because our schedule is unpractical. But the staff waited us, you know, they sat us down. There were other people in the restaurant at the same time enjoying their meal, We ordered some ramen, one with tofu, one with pork, and ramen meals were done well. I really enjoyed it as well did my friends, period. However, at the time of the bill, we forgot to leave a tip, period. My friend's husband insisted at least three times that he'll purchase something else so that he could pay a tip and they continued to refuse every single time, period. As we were all leaving the establishment and headed to our parking lot, the waiter came and he said that we disrespected him, period. He was pretty confrontational and we were all puzzled because if it was the tip, then we insisted on paying for it, but they consistently declined and then we left before this establishment was closing, so I'm really confused as to why they were treating us this way, period. My friend's husband mentioned before going in that he's a physician and this is a Hispanic male and immediately they laughed at him and said that you must be joking dot dot dot. This is absolutely absurd and racist of them. I'm incredibly disappointed because while I do feel like the food is good, there is no reason for them to be disrespectful and racist and I don't believe that this place should be open.
