My husband was helped by Dave, I was helped by Karin, and my MIL was helped by Julie. To our surprise they measured our feet in numerous manners, examined our feet as we walked, and picked out shoes that they believe would suit our specified feet and walk. Boy do they know their stuff!!! For me, Karin had me try on different shoes and genuinely cared about how my feet felt in them. She even had me walk outside! (which I thought was odd, but makes sense because it is a different surface than inside the store). She explained why the certain brand of shoe and style of shoe makes the most sense for my feet (darn wide feet) and continuously asked how my feet felt in them. She even took a care in what I do for a living (I'm a teacher) and made sure that the style of shoe would fit my lifestyle. The store overall was in immaculate condition and incredibly clean. Every person in the store was exceptionally nice and cared about me and my feet. Shoes were not as expensive as I imagined... my pair of gym shoes was a little over $100. One problem I have is they usually don't carry a lot of shoes in size 11 and some of them are very tight fitting and they don't offer a large selection of shoes in wides either. Sometimes I need a wide and sometimes I don't, it just depends on the fit of the shoe. Anyway, other than them not having my size and having to order online a lot, I would say it is a good experience to let them help you pick out shoes here. The people that work here are very friendly and always greet you when you walk in the place. They ask if they can help you find anything or what you are looking for. I've never had a bad experience while shopping for shoes there because if they don't have your size, they will order it and ship it to you for free and you just pay for it then and get it in the mail. The men's section is much larger--or at least appears larger--than many other Sierra stores that I have frequented, with a bountiful clearance section, to boot! I got excited when I came upon the Men's shoes section with a sign for Size 14 alas there was not much there both in actual stock and in the prices of what was on offer. The store was clean and organized well, and while we didn't see a single staffer the entire time we browsed the wares, our cashier (who was vaguely reminiscent of a young Barack Obama) was very friendly and engaging.

I found some shoes that I liked and one of the workers walked by and I asked if the red sticker items were an additional 50% off, the worker said yes. So I spent an hour in the store looking for shoes for my grandchildren, found some for them. I then went to the register to pay for the shoes and to my surprise they did not ring up 50% off. I then questioned the worker that told me that they were 50% off and the worker stated no, only the ones with the round 50% on them. I wouldn't have wasted my time in the store if the worker did not tell me the wrong information.
