I couldn't reach the nearest vet but their after hours recommended Points East Veterinary Hospital in Wilson. They assured me they were open 24 hours and to hurry on over. They were ready for me when I arrived and rushed Ruffle in while I filled out paperwork. He was severely anemic, needed an immediate blood transfusion and oxygen. They saved his life. Staff kept me informed every at step, calling through the night with updates and patient with questions when I called them. They were warm, caring and kind. The hospital is very large, open, clean and beautiful, with state- of-the-art equipment and attractively furnished private rooms for consultations and visits with patients for pet parents. I owe these wonderful people my beloved furson's life. You can trust them to give your furbaby the very best of care. My hearfelt thanks to the doctors and staff!!!

The first lady that cam to take Hinata back asked me about her shots being up to date. I said, "um" while I tried to remember when she last got shots and the woman barked out that it was a yes or no question. So...rude start. 5 hours went by. My daughter went to ask about her. The lady at the desk said someone would check her vitals and come out to talk to us. An hour later, I went to the desk. No receptionist. Waited 15 minutes and even though Dr. Roncone walked down the hall and saw us, no one came. Had to call the place and someone picked up in the back. I asked about her again. Was told someone would check vitals and come out. I said we were told that an hour ago. A guy finally came out and said she was sleeping well and fever was the same. An hour later, (now at 7 hours) I went back to desk to ask if they'd even given her anything for the fever. The lady told me she would check and someone would come out and talk to us. Found out that no, for 8 hours she was just sleeping. No meds, no food, no nothing. We could have been home. We could have come back. Then at the 8 1/2 hour mark, a doctor finally comes out. Says, they haven't given her anything, but pretty sure it's just a viral infection and she wants to do bloodwork. I am pissed at this point and tell her, no. Just give us a prescription and let us go home. She says that we were told there was a 6 hour wait and they were saving lives. I told her that I definitely want critical patients to be a priority, but if I had been told she could wait at home, like I asked, I would have taken her home since all you did was let her lay back there and sleep. But no, at 8 hours, they finally decided to examine her. Then of course we have to pay the $200 for them to do bloodwork before we can get medicine. She wanted to talk to us. So 8.5 hours in and they are going to finally start on her. My daughter went into a room with the doctor to talk about what they were going to do and how much our bill would be. So the estimate was $404. Finally after 9 hours, they bring me my cat and the receptionist says they gave us a discount for our frustration. The bill was $406. Not sure how discounts make a bill higher, but whatever, I'm ready to go. I pay the bill. I get home at 630 am. They gave us pills. I always get liquid medicine. The doctor didnt even ask. So at 630, I had to crush up pills and mix them with food and fight with the cat so I could finally go to bed. It's so ridiculous that you can't even buy fever reducing medicine over the counter. They care more about doing costly blood work EVERY SINGLE TIME so that you have to line their pockets more. Ive been there before and had to pay $250 to have my kitten euthanized because I couldn't pay the $2000 they wanted to try and save it. So if you dont have $250, you get to take your suffering animal home to die in pain. I remember when vets really did put the animals first. They would treat them and send you a bill. Now it's pay up or we do nothing. It's disgusting. I will never go there again. In addition, the last 3 hours of our wait, we were the ONLY people in the waiting room.

They said they could schedule euthanasia for next Thursday--8 days from now. He pleaded with them and they refused him with zero compassion. He then took his dog to Hicks Animal clinic (a few minutes down the road) where they took him in without question and said it is their policy to never turn down someone who in need of this service, as they understand that it is something that we cannot always plan ahead for. Dr. Michael and his staff at Hicks were very compassionate throughout the entire process. Both of my animals were patients at Magnolia Grace, after being made aware of this, I will never take them there again.

Monday our pup lemon wasn't handling her insulin well and had dangerously low blood sugar. We called hoping they would be able to help with advice or anything. We were told they can't squeeze us in because they close soon and the dr wants to leave early ( I get it people have lives outside of work) we called a bunch of other hospitals and were able to get her blood sugar back to an ok level. This afternoon she began plummeting again. I tried for ivermectin 2 hours to get her numbers up including hand feeding, trying different foods/ snacks, honey once she wasn't showing improvement, as well as sugar water which spiked her blood sugar for about 10 minutes and then drastically fell again to under 50 which if anyone has a diabetic dog is not good. I called hoping for help again and was told to come right in. I rushed and was at the light to the rd of the vet when they called saying I had a scheduled time and it was passed that. I explained I wasn't given a time and got there as fast as I could. Then the lady who was pretty rude told me even if they could see me they couldn't hospitalized her ( are you not an animal hospital) I was told that yet again they were booked and the vet wanted to leave early! As someone who works in the vet field I know that if it were me in there situation my morals/ ethics would not turn away a dog in desperate need of help! And especially because oh he just didn't want to stay late. As I'm on the phone trying to figure this out lemons sensor started screaming that she is below readable levels and is in desperate need of help. And I began explaining that I was told to come in, I'm here, and now they are telling me I'm sol and to go somewhere else. Completely unprofessional, unreasonable, unethical. Both Bridget (first) and Bella were tail-waggin' girls as they headed in to get beautified. Bridge-Bridge would get so excite that she would run to the dutch door and stand up on it so they knew she was there. Their service was great and the prices unbeatable -- $25 vs. $48 for the same service while we took Sammy with us on vacation. Hate that their brick and mortar presence will leaving Tarboro, but glad Ms. Teresa will still be grooming our loved ones from her home in Leggett.

I'm devastated and I'm really having a tough time making sense of it all. Peak City Vet in Apex recommended and hired in this surgeon to do the surgery at their facility. Afterwards he left my dog in the care of Peak City Veterinarian Hospital. When I picked up my $4000.00 dog, she's paralyzed from the waist down. He never bothered to come see her. Wouldn't answer my calls. Left us high and dry. Peak City is blaming this surgeon with an error. We have it all video recorded. They all are responsible as far as we are concerned and we are devastated with the entire experience from start to finish. Very very unprofessional when we picked her up. Apex police witnessed and recorded them blaming each other, then demanding payment of $4300.00 for our beloved animal that is now paralyzed. Sick sick people. Please, please beware. Save your heart.
