When we were in town staying at my son's house for Christmas, our 13-year-old Pomchow was attacked by a larger neighbor dog. We brought her here. They did x-rays and found that she had several broken ribs. They told us that she wasn't gonna make it. They gave her pain medicine and made her comfortable. They were extremely kind to us and her. She passed before we could see her again. They brought her to us in a private comfortable room and we had as much time with her as we needed. The staff showed care and compassion. Not only that, but we weren't overcharged in our time of emergency. A week later, my daughter received Daisy's ashes. They were in a nice wooden box, and they included a paw print that the Hospital had made before cremating her. It was an immensely thoughtful gesture from a place that understands how much our pets are also family.

Thank you for taking such good care of my boy

I am so grateful for Dr. Brady and all of the staff at Points East. As a vet tech that knows the correct standard of care I can say that they truly go above and beyond. My boy is home safe and sound after his splenectomy and from check in to check out I felt that my boy was getting the best of care. I was updated every step of the way and they were happy to take my check in calls. While I hope I never have to bring him back, I know that they will be exactly who I turn to if needed again.

    Miss Belle heading home

The staff was so caring and helpful. Dr Smith admitted Miss Belle into the hospital for emergency pyometria surgery. She was very comforting and explained everything in detail. Dr Rouillard perform the surgery. A lot of intestines had adeared to the uterus but she was able to successfully remove it. She called me right after the surgery and assured me she was feeling good about Belle's. She called back that evening to let me know how Miss Belle was doing. I also received another phone call from her the next morning to update me before her shift was over. I was quite happy with my experience here

Disappointed in letting a sick pup die as rescuers we're raising the last $200 to complete fees charged ... shameful

And it was a 2 hour wait, with our cat sitting quietly in her carrier the whole time. What happens when you have a dying pet and you have to wait over 2 hours in the waiting room with other people and their pets? We were told that there was a 5 hour wait on Saturday! You either wait for 5 hours or let your pet die. I honestly hope I never have to go back there, although the vet that we finally got to see was very kind. No more calling your own vet on a weekend. You have no choice but to go there. I will think twice before adopting another animal if this is the only option for a sick pet.

Fiancee brought daughter's cat who had been in a fight with another animal. Cat had lacerations and was bleeding and in serve pain and was slipping in and out of sleep or coma. Upon arrival to EC Vets was shown to a room and never checked on. After waiting about 30 mins she asked when she would be seen because she was worried about her daughter's cat. The vet tech told her someone would be in to see her as soon as she could. after another 30 min she asked again and was told rudely she would be seen when they had time. After 1 1/2 hours I called and asked if they cat could just be triaged. I spoke to the vet who told me she'd be seen when they had time. I told her I understood this pet was no more important then anyone else's but with humans they are triaged so they can maximize the amount of lives that can be saved. She told me thank you for the advice and was very rude. I was calm and asked her if she went to the emergency room after a car accident and was seriously hurt would she want the toddler with a cold and the guy with a sprained wrist seen before her and she thanked me again for my advice. I got angry and told her to F*** off and hung up the phone. I admit I was wrong but at that point she threw my finance, cat, and daughter out of the place. So she took her anger at me, out on a defenseless cat and 4 year old kid. What a professional. I hope she has a like experience at an emergency room.

Cottage Animal Clinic - The day that our beautiful baby got spayed!!

    Cottage Animal Clinic

The Cottage Animal Clinic, Stantonsburg, NC…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with The Cottage Animal Clinic was one of the most upsetting, unprofessional, and downright unethical encounters I have ever had with a veterinary office. I brought in a small outdoor cat I had been caring for for over a year -- a cat who arrived on my property malnourished, underweight, and missing large patches of fur. I fed her, sheltered her, and slowly brought her back to health. She chose us as her family, and we loved her dearly. I did not want to see her pregnant and bringing more feral cats into the world. Before the appointment, I explicitly told the clinic that I did NOT want her ear tipped. I explained that she was no longer a feral cat, that I was keeping her indoors, and that I would be her owner going forward. They heard me. And they did it anyway. After the clinic discovered she had a microchip, they refused to let me see her, refused to give me any information, and spoke to me as though I had done something wrong by caring for a starving, sick animal who showed up on my property. They accused us of being "aggressive" simply because my husband -- heartbroken and frustrated as well -- raised his voice slightly while pleading for me to be allowed to say goodbye. (I later discovered why they wouldn't let me see her.) But the worst part came later. They sent the cat to Wayne County Animal Control. After they were unable to find the original owners, we went to the animal control to adopt her, we discovered that the veterinarian had cut the tip of her ear off, even though she already had a spay tattoo from her original owners. There was absolutely no justification for ear‑tipping a cat who was already spayed, already tattooed, and whose future owner (me) had clearly and directly declined the procedure. Then I figured out why they wouldn't let me see her because they had already cut her ear off before they shaved her and found the tatoo! And if that's not enough, when they shaved her to discover the tattoo, they cut off one of her nipples and cut her skin with the shaver. Amateur work. They permanently altered her appearance against my wishes and against all common sense. Ear‑tipping is meant for unowned feral cats in TNR programs -- not for a cat with a microchip, a spay tattoo, and a person standing right there saying, "Please don't do this." Instead of compassion, we were met with coldness, accusations, and a complete lack of empathy. The way we were spoken to was dismissive, condescending, and unnecessarily harsh during an already emotional situation. Thankfully, the staff at Wayne County Animal Control treated us with kindness and helped us fill out the paperwork so that if her original owners do not reclaim her, we can adopt her. Their compassion was everything this clinic lacked. I understand that procedures and laws must be followed. What I cannot understand -- and will not excuse -- is the unprofessional behavior, the lack of empathy, and then when I call their office to ask the name of the veterinarian to whom I was speaking with, the receptionist lied and told me her name was Karen... blatantly lied!!! Totally inexcusable behavior. People deserve to know how this clinic handles animals and the people who care about them. I will never return here, and I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before trusting this clinic with their pets.
