This hospital was the only place that would do it for an affordable price, ended up costing 4k, including an in depth pathology report. Other places were quoting me 5-7k. My best friend is alive and home for Christmas because of the amazing staff at Points East. I arrived home to find my sweet tuxedo kitty Ruffle collapsed on the floor, struggling to breathe. I couldn't reach the nearest vet but their after hours recommended Points East Veterinary Hospital in Wilson. They assured me they were open 24 hours and to hurry on over. They were ready for me when I arrived and rushed Ruffle in while I filled out paperwork. He was severely anemic, needed an immediate blood transfusion and oxygen. They saved his life. Staff kept me informed every at step, calling through the night with updates and patient with questions when I called them. They were warm, caring and kind. The hospital is very large, open, clean and beautiful, with state- of-the-art equipment and attractively furnished private rooms for consultations and visits with patients for pet parents. I can't say enough good things about this vet hospital. They were so professional, caring, and communicative. Our cat, Fred, was having respiratory issues and had been seen by our local & emergency vet in the Greenville area. They suggested taking him Points East in Wilson where they had round-the-clock care/tools to help our little guy. Fred was triaged, and we were seen within 15 mins of checking him in. Dr. Wagner was very helpful in explaining Fred's condition and options we had for his recovery/stay. Fred stayed at the hospital for a few days and they called me with updates on his condition twice a day! They nursed Fred back to a healthy state and we got to take him home. I'm happy to say that he's a happy kitty once again!!! I can't thank them enough. read more

When we were in town staying at my son's house for Christmas, our 13-year-old Pomchow was attacked by a larger neighbor dog. We brought her here. They did x-rays and found that she had several broken ribs. They told us that she wasn't gonna make it. They gave her pain medicine and made her comfortable. They were extremely kind to us and her. She passed before we could see her again. They brought her to us in a private comfortable room and we had as much time with her as we needed. The staff showed care and compassion. Not only that, but we weren't overcharged in our time of emergency. A week later, my daughter received Daisy's ashes. They were in a nice wooden box, and they included a paw print that the Hospital had made before cremating her. It was an immensely thoughtful gesture from a place that understands how much our pets are also family. read more

I am so grateful for Dr. Brady and all of the staff at Points East. As a vet tech that knows the correct standard of care I can say that they truly go above and beyond. My boy is home safe and sound after his splenectomy and from check in to check out I felt that my boy was getting the best of care. I was updated every step of the way and they were happy to take my check in calls. Can't complain about this business, cause I haven't been here. But I did visit the one in Greenville. Never again!!! After waiting for 7 hours for my dog to be seen, I was informed that they weren't seeing any more patients, that I would have to wait until 9pm to see the next vet. I was told this at 6:30 pm. Now, they are there until 8, and I was the last person in the office. If you want compassionate care for your pets, better go somewhere else! Wish I could give 0 stars! read more

The staff was so caring and helpful. Dr Smith admitted Miss Belle into the hospital for emergency pyometria surgery. She was very comforting and explained everything in detail. Dr Rouillard perform the surgery. A lot of intestines had adeared to the uterus but she was able to successfully remove it. She called me right after the surgery and assured me she was feeling good about Belle's. She called back that evening to let me know how Miss Belle was doing. The term "Dr." is used very loosely below. This place is absolute highway robbery. My dog and I were involved in a motor vehicle collision and he suffered a broken femur in his back left leg. With no other options at the time we took him to Points East in Wilson. Dr. Brenda Austin "stabilized" the broken leg with a titanium plate and pins. After a few weeks of no physical activity, we went back for X-rays and Dr. Austin informed us that we could begin to walk him around more and he could begin to use the leg to help rebuild strength and improve circulation to help the bone heal faster. For a few weeks we went on short leashed walks everyday just as Dr. Austin said. Come back for more X-rays a few weeks later and all of a sudden the pins have backed out of the bone and plate causing the bone to not be lined up. She begins to show me all his X-rays with date and times on them. Come to find out the bone was already out of alignment when she instructed us to walk him around more and use the leg. Following the plate she recommended an external fixator or amputation, I went with the external fixator. After the fixator was implanted in the leg I asked, "Is it going to mess it up if he lays down on that side?", she replies "he won't want to lay on that side". We head home and the first thing he does is lay on the fixator, I call immediately and explain what is happening and she says, "As long as he's comfortable it should be fine". After three weeks of driving back and forth to Wilson once a week they take X-rays and Dr. Austin informs me that the fixator is not attached properly and that she thinks it's from him laying on that side. At that point she recommended amputation so I told her I would have the operation done at my local vet and was never coming back. Also, they needed the fixator from my dogs leg, I guess so they could use a piece of equipment that doesn't work on somebody else's dog and rob them too. With a heavy heart Dr. Austin still charged $1,000 just for them to remove the fixator that fixed nothing. End up taking him to my local vet, $3500 for one more surgery and it's now been two months post operation and the bone is lined up and healing well and beginning to use his leg more and more. Nearly $11,000 Points East and Dr. Austin robbed from me and 4 months of my dogs life. Lesson is that Dr. Brenda Austin is an absolute fluke and never take any kind of pet to this shithole of an establishment. read more

My miniature dachshund had something in her rear leg tear and she could not use her leg any longer. Dr Brady at Points East is a miracle worker. He repaired my dog's leg and she is as if nothing ever happened. It was very scary but Dr Brady and the staff at Points East gave me and my wife solid reassurance that our pup would be fine. We had a wonderful experience at Points East. My dog ripped her dew claw, and we were in and out in about an hour. The staff was so kind, my dog loved them even though she was scared. The waiting and exam rooms are comfortable and they have great wifi to use while you wait. On top of it all they cost significantly less than our normal vet. read more

This veterinary specialty hospital should be reported to the veterinary medical Association. We had a rescue urgent puppy (Memphis)there that they diagnosed with Pavo and demanded $1500 to see the dog. Then after they took $550 and the puppy died they said it should've been euthanized anyway. It seemed very irregular to demand money and then when they didn't get it all and refused to treat the dog say that it should've been euthanized to begin with?? When I called to confirm this information they wouldn't give me the office manager or anyone to talk to or to call me back and hung up on me. This is a veterinary emergency hospital??? read more

Thankful they were there. Our Yorkiepoo was bitten by fire-ants and went into anaphylactic shock. We had to travel about.45 minutes to get there and didn't think she would make it. As soon as we arrived we walked up to the counter and a technician was waiting to take her. Long story short she was critical but made it through the night. They lets us go in the back to see her before we went home. The called us during the night and next morning to give us an update. The staff were great. The vet was great. And yes it's not cheap, but what emergency care is? All I know is we have our Izzie back. read more

Honestly they are the highest priced vets. Gave me an estimate of $6-9k for my dog surgies, got it done at another place close by for $1430 lol. They will scam you out of money and not tell you cheaper altentative. My dog got hit by a car, i didnt have insurance, to hospitalize him it would've been 3k... took him home. She also tried to make me put him down like twice .... said he could die if i took him home... AND ALSO the lady told me my total at check out was $400+ i told her i only had $50 lol she called the doctor and said they was enough for his medicatio... so yes went from $400+ to $50 so don't allow the cashier to play games w you. Took him back the next day, another doctor views him... she said he's fine, lungs are fine, referred me to a cheaper vet and told me she could've fixed my dog hip/leg with a literally just snap back in place so i could avoid that surgery cost...the first doctor didn't tell me anything expect pricing, she only cared about the money definitely not the dog. Also when i was there i witnessed one of the workers call the dog dumb!! "cmon you stupid dog" so yeah that showed me as well behind closed doors they SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED! &&&&& I know somebody who used to work there at the new vet i went to... she said they have PLENTY of complaints, very high priced, and get over on they customers. I am absolutely thrilled that Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital was there for my pup Remington this week. On Wednesday morning I received a phone call that my dog was found after being hit by a 18 wheeler and left for dead but a bystander who witnessed the hit called me and I immediately sprung into action and started calling clinics. I originally got him to a local urgent care for stabilization so I could in hopes transfer to here or the clinic I work at. When he arrived to the urgent vet he was diagnosed with a pneumothorax and ruptured spleen. He got stabilized and immediately transferred to this facility in case he needed surgery. The doctors I spoke with were so nice and took great care of him. He is currently at my clinic after they did amazing care getting him past the tough part of his recovery period. Spent over $800 for a dog and got a lot of "idk" came in originally saying "possibly kidney disease" then "dehydration" and still a lot of "I'm not sure"... the vet tech on staff made every decision rushed, and as if we were making the wrong decisions... left with a $800+ bill and no clear answers... would never go to again read more

Very expensive but they saved my best friend after terrible unprovoked dog attack. They were very caring and got her into surgery and X-rays and kept her alive when my greatest fear was my dog was going to die from severe bite wounds. They called and kept me informed and even worked with me to be honest about the costs. They are awesome and yes expensive because it is expensive to have a pet receive emergency medical treatment and especially to have a 24 hour fully staffed hospital for emergencies for animals. A better system is needed for the curbside. Perhaps take appointments... but waiting 2 plus hours in your vehicle with an unwell-pet is miserable. No one even came by for an assessment or anything. We just waited and waited... when I called for a follow up I was advised we were next and when a tech is available they would come out... that was 45 min ago... she could have been home in a less stressful situation the 2 plus hours we waited... and then we could have came back when they were ready!!! Was advised via phone that emergency vomit inducing procedure would cost $170 and was asked to remit over $215 after medication and services were rendered while I was not present. I was required to wait in my vehicle while my pet was taken into the office; therefore, I could not authorize the additional expense in the office. Personnel onsite were defensive and rude when I requested an itemized invoice justifying the additional expenses incurred. It felt uncomfortable and deceitful. read more

Our puppy has parvo, all I asked is a base price for treatment, all the treatment consists of is ivs, nausea medicine and maybe pain medication and a few days of same treatment and all I wanted to know is how much I was looking at in price! I don't think that was to much to ask, I know it could be more based on the severity of the puppy's health when you bring it in but their has to be a base price and since I would be paying cash that's a very crucial question but they chose not to give me a base price and the woman I spoke with had an attitude about my simple question I will never use them! If price doesn't matter to you by all means try them, they maybe great doctors but they need better customers care! read more

I have visited this vet 2 days in a row with emergencies and they all have been wonderful!! Very caring!!! Gives you all the information and estimated cost beforehand. Gave us updates every day that our sweet dog was there. We were able to visit any time we wanted and call and check up on our dog any time. read more

Overall great experience at this location. I waited about an hour with my Yorkie. Once they took Zoey to the back, they performed a physical assessment. I do appreciate them letting me know the prices of everything before they went to the next step. I do feel that $250 for drawing blood panels was a bit pricey. However I had a great first time experience at this location. I left with 2 medications and a special can of bland food for my fur baby. I took my dachshund in December 2020, for throwing up, HIs vet was out of town, and we told to go there, He had a hard cyst on his left shoulder which was not bothering or anyone, I repeatedly told them not to touch it. When they finally told me he was ready to go 500.00 later, nothing was done for the throwing up but she took it upon herself to remove the hard cyst, I am having my dog put down today because of that . 3 HOURS. 3 HOURS OF WAITING AND NOT BEING SEEN. My cat was BLEEDING inside of my car, called 3 times "oh it'll be this long" "oh we'll send someone out". NEVER DID. Yet kept seeing others being assisted who got there way after me. I completely understand that there's "more severe cases" however my cat shouldn't be BLEEDING IN MY CAR MIXED WITH THICK WHITE FLUID. I have brought my dog here because of possible snakebite. Dog has swollen ears, shaking head, and eye swollen shut. I filled out paperwork and have been waiting in parking lot for 2 1/2 hrs. no one has even came out to do assessment on her. I do not understand their system. I arrived here at about 2:30am because my dog was suffering from a loss of appetite, vomiting, and shortness of breath. They took my paperwork and had us waiting for over 30 minutes when there seemed to be no other current visitors.I left and received a call about 15 min later. My cat has been extremely sick for over 2 weeks now, we took him to Points East Vet to figure out what's wrong with him, they did xrays, ultrasound, hospitalized him over night, did blood tests and still couldn't give me a diagnosis and gave us no form of medication of any sort. They charged me $1,600 for nothing. $1,600 and my cat is still slowly dying and I don't know what's wrong or how to help him heal. I am highly unsatisfied. How can you call yourselves Vet specialists and yet can charge me $1,600 and not even be able to give me a diagnosis. This establishment saw my puppy that was on the verge of dying apparently and just NEGLECTED TO TELL ME. Not even 24hr later my puppy died. They did let me know there was blood in her rectum but neglected to help due to insufficient funds on my half. Isn't the point of animal hospitals to help the pet??! It's really not computing in me. Before going to the EVet I asked for advice over the phone and they wouldn't tell me anything until I went into the establishment. They had no problem taking $100 from me and when I called to let them know her progress they asked for me to bring her back in for an additional $100 even though she came in the day before. They took extra special care of our 3 lb Yorkie and took precautions above and beyond for our tiny dog. Took their time going over all the information on the procedure and answer all the questions we had. Surgery for our little one went perfectly, they even gave us excellent home therapy care instructions, as well as follow up appointments.
