Pitch black and trying to avoid conflict after a bogus claim that could have easily turned violent, i simply removed myself from the situation and waited for my ride. Shortly after I entered the dark secluded area, i hear someone yelling "get up here now!" Two times followed by "you're going to be tazed" Pointing a flashlight at me. Not knowing who it was, i kept my distance, walking away and I asked "for what?". immediately after, i was tazed and placed in handcuffs, taken to the hail. When arrived at the jail, officer Malin was being pushy, i asked him simply to stop push me. Malin says "if you don't stop, I'm going to push you to the floor and taze you." I said, "in hand cuffs? that's silly" Officer Malin then leg swiped me and proceeded to taze me for 20-30 seconds, stops and asks me "are you finished?" i said "f*ck you!" and he tazed me again. He then picks me up and takes me to the booking room and when another officer walks in, i told him "this officer just tazed me in handcuffs twice right down that hallway" the officer asks Malin if that's true and Malin says yes. They both leave the room and come back with changed tones, being excessively nice. They tell me I'm being released and walks me out without signing anything. No charges filed, however several months go by and without warning, i find out I have been charged. I hire Sam and later find out he's best friends with the judges calls them after hours on their personal phone lines and acts like a little lapdog when speaking with them. I also find out that officer officer Malin lied about 4 key components of the probable cause statement he filed with the prosecutor. He stated "he identified himself, his lights were on, i was running and he replied to my question "for what?" Sam knew my position from the beginning, i plan to sue the f*ck out of these actual criminals in effort to stop certain officers believing they are untouchable and can get away with anything. Well if you hire this firm and your innocent, be prepared to get hammered with phone calls to take a plea deal and that your going to be found guilty. I couldn't believe this dummy and any moron could've had this case dismissed with 1 simple deposition of the officer but Sam decides to set the case for bench trial without telling me and tells me that he needs $10,000 for trial but I may as well flush it down the toilet. I told him I can't just come up with that kind of money that fast. I tried to tell the judge that I need time to hire another attorney but was denied and forced Sam to stay on. I told Sam we need to depose Malin before trial, Sam says, he could impeach him on the stand. Day of trial i asked him if he was submitting the probable cause so we can make sure the officer gets impeached and he says no because it the PC statemen mentioned stealing. I said "who cares! , those charges were dropped and the jury is going to hear that anyway" Sam says in an agitated manner, "Its my decision and I believe it will hurt the case." At this point i knew this case was lost and this lapdog, dummy is the reason. 3 hours later I was found guilty. I've had several good attorneys I've dealt with throughout my life. I can assure you, Sam is more concerned about pleasing the system and their representatives rather than his clients. I highly recommend avoiding this man and probably the firm itself since any reasonable person would recognize his true alliances because honestly my case could have been beaten "pro se". If you want to risk the silly BS that comes with hiring a person that will sandbag a case for 4 years and then submit zero evidence during trial, and instead help the prosecutor and officers by telling them what he's going to do every step of the way so the case goes in favor of the state. Sam Hotchkiss is your man for sure. I highly recommend, ...literally anyone else

If you want…read morea lawyer who literally NEVER replies to any phone calls, NEVER looks at your case until he's in front of the judge at your court date, is completely negligent and rude to his clients, and will most likely result i'm having your sentancing worsened, then look no further because you have found your guy! Jeffrey ended up getting my 90 day breathalyzer sentance turned into a 2 YEAR sentence because of his complete lack of effort in my case. in hindsight, I would've been better off representing myself and i would've saved myself a lot of money doing it. My mother and I live well over an hour away but chose him due to his "years of experience", we clearly made a horrible judgement call. He refused to speak to both of us on a 3 way call because we both work very different hours and had no time to personally drive the hour+ drive to his office just to have a phone conversation. If you want to talk to him, just know that it will take at least 3-5 business days to receive a call back no matter how many times michelle promises he will call you back ASAP. He never looks at your case until the day of court and therefore usually doesn't have a clue about what's going on. He will go to court dates for you and never let you know the outcome until you repeatedly call his office and wait days at a time for a response. Save yourself the time and stay as far away from him as possible.
