I am writing this review while still admitted in the maternity unit. While my experience with the…read moresurgical team during my scheduled C-section was excellent--my OB-GYN and the operating staff were truly outstanding--the level of care on the maternity floor has been deeply disappointing. After being transferred out of recovery, the quality of care significantly declined. Aside from one attentive night-shift nurse, the majority of the nursing staff and support team have been largely unresponsive. Routine check-ins are minimal, and I have often had to call repeatedly to request updates, medications, or assistance. As a new mother, I expected guidance and support, particularly with breastfeeding, but there has been little to no proactive education or hands-on help provided. In other hospitals, staff typically introduce themselves during shift changes and ensure patients feel supported--this has not been the case here. Additionally, basic aspects of care have been delayed or overlooked. Meal service has been consistently late, and important postpartum care, such as fundal checks, was delayed for hours until I specifically requested it. My surgical incision has only been checked once during my stay, which is concerning. To make matters more difficult, my newborn required transfer to another hospital's NICU. While I understand there may be policies in place, the inability to transfer with my baby as a first-time mother caused significant emotional distress. Keeping mother and newborn together whenever possible should be a priority. Overall, while the surgical experience was positive, the postpartum care on the maternity floor has been extremely poor. This has been a very stressful and disappointing experience during what should be a meaningful and supported time.

My experience with Baptist Hospital throughout my times of being in the Emergency Room by Rescue…read morebecause of traumatic brain injury even that cause me episodes of seizure and then I get treated like a delinquent and judged me infront of my folks and mistreated by these Nurses and Doctors (STOP PUTTING THESE PEOPLE ON HIGH PEDESTALS THEY DO NOT DESERVE IT) even to this day I WILL NOT EVER GO TO BAPTIST HOSPITAL is BEYOND HORRIBLE I RATHER DIE IN MY HOME...AND IT DOES NOT STOP THERE.... Another issue is I could NEVER speak with someone regarding my concerns and/or receive any support regarding my question(s). I call and the Operator is to direct my call to whom I request...But, NOT BAPTIST HOSPITAL they interrogated me and at the end I NEVER am able to speak with that person. It is BEYOND FRUSTRATING and UNPROFESSIONAL and a VIOLATION of my privacy that I do not need to extend my reasons for calling or speaking with whom I requested it is DISRESPECTFUL and NONE OF ANY OTHER EMPLOYEE's BUSINESS. Til this day no one has ever contacted me to know what has happened nor do they care. Your company does not communicate with me as I was a patient...there is no follow-up call to know how the patient is doing etc. All this company cares for is these insignificant surveys that they ONLY care for the positive and not the negative to fix and repair what needs to be...But, without the negative how will this company get better. The President of Baptist Hospital as well as the CEO, COO and whomever else DOES NOT DESERVE a Bonus every year at the end of the year-you don't do nothing ...absolutely nothing for no one, not even for any patients or even families and their sick loved ones. Everything goes to those whom do no labor whatsoever in Baptist Hospital all they want is money and more money to build and never raise any salaries or hear the concerns of any one. Every thing is all to the higher ups Every hospital is the same Always discriminatIng; even-though, they state they don't.

Extremely disappointing experience with the radiology department at Nicklaus Children's Hospital…read more Appointments here feel completely meaningless--if your child is scheduled for 8:00 AM, don't expect to be seen until 9:00 or even later. Chronic delays seem to be the norm, not the exception. It's clear they are either understaffed or poorly managed, as they "never have enough rooms" to handle patients on time. On top of that, the customer service is unacceptable--unhelpful, dismissive, and far from what you would expect at a children's hospital. For the level of care and the cost associated with this hospital, the experience is simply not justified. Families deserve better--especially when it comes to their children's care.

The staff knows how to take care of everyone. At least this has been our personal experience with both hospitals. My son's endocrinologist, Dr. Diaz is associated with Nicklaus Children's Hospital. We came here the first time for a Growth Stimulation Test several months back. They were very efficient and organized. We parked in the Green Parking Garage which leads you straight to the area on the first floor to check in at the desk. We approached the main check in desk upon entrance from the parking garage elevator. They guide you to Patient Access around the corner for registration and to complete any paperwork. Once that is done, insurance info confirmed, payments processed, they inform you to go to designated area. We went upstairs to the infusion area where the staff was absolutely wonderful in taking care of my son. He got a room and they offered Xbox games for him to play. Apparently, all the rooms on this floor has Xbox games per bed. This was a generous donation to the hospital. What a wonderful gift for the kids. The growth stimulation testing took several hours but my kids was a trooper. The young lady taking care of him was seriously THE BEST. I thought I wrote down her name but alas, I did not. I'm sure they can locate who exactly took care of us with the patient info. Anyway, she was so patient, friendly and kind to my son. What every parent wants to see, especially when you're in a hospital environment and kids may be nervous as is. We came back again recently to get an MRI, as requested by the specialist. Same check in process except our appt was later in the afternoon at 6:30pm and it was so quiet and peaceful here during this time. Not chaotic at all. Like nobody here. The young lady who helped us register was very nice, even offered my son stickers when we were done. Then we went to the radiology dept where a nice man helped us prep for the MRI. Eventually, another young man who was the MRI technician, Alex, guided us to where they were going to take photos of the brain. Sounds scary and looks a bit intimidating but Alex helped ease any discomfort. He was great making my kid comfortable and very patient. The MRI took about 45 minutes and they have to be very still. I was able to sit in the same room with ear muffs, the MRI process is very loud and again, intimidating. My kid moved a little in the beginning and we thought we would have to come back but he eventually eased up and fell asleep during the process. Ha. Worked out nicely. Alex had left and another gentleman helped us finish up. All in all, they really do take such wonderful care of the families here! Beautiful and super clean hospital.

Dr. Citron is an outstanding oncologist, at MCI, whose expertise, compassion, and dedication to his patients are truly remarkable. I was being erroneously treated for RA at another institution. From my very first appointment, Dr. Citron took the time to listen carefully to my concerns, make all the necessary investigations to find that I was fighting multiple myeloma. He thoroughly explained my condition and treatment options, and has always ensured that I am well informed and comfortable throughout the entire process. His professionalism and depth of knowledge has always inspired confidence, but what impresses me most is his genuine concern for my well-being. Dr. Citron treats his patients with kindness, respect, and empathy, making what can be an incredibly challenging experience easier to navigate. Dr. Citron arranged my appointment with Dr Ariel Perez-Perez , MCI BMT Oncologist, for my bone marrow transplant. My entire experience at Miami Cancer Center has been positive, and Dr. Citron's commitment to providing exceptional patient care is evident at every visit. I am extremely grateful for the care I receive and I feel very fortunate to be under his treatment/care. Please extend my thanks and appreciation to Dr. Citron for the outstanding care he provides. He is a tremendous asset to Miami Cancer Center and the patients whose lives he impacts every day. Sincerely, Francisco Hernandez
