I was welcomed so kindly and respectfully by Christina and Fonda, then I have met Dr Tabbal who was very thorough and very kind and understanding. On check out I met with Ashley who booked my follow up appointement. So from start to finish it was PERFECT care and service. Poor care, staff is very highly underpaid and understaffed leading to a lot of waiting and waiting and waiting. People are also very rude, I saw an EVS worker disrespect another employee for nothing more than recovering my breakfast tray. I have been to baptist before when it was better and I really and honestly think it's fallen far and off from its heyday. I believe it's a problem with the leadership as they fail to inspire anything but fear and loathing a lot of the time. So the smiles feel very put on. My care team was good at least. They took care of my foot issue as quickly as possible but I am still very upset about the seeming removal of any sort of decorum or elegance that once seemingly permeated the premises. read more

Talk about a bad experience. You know its bad when you have to watch everyone like a hawk. Our night nurse was so detached that I was actually concerned for future patients. No commumication. No care, Everything transactional, not to mention all the techs thinking that my brother is a rag doll, not knowing he is full of fractures. He got splints done by 3 clowns that had no idea what they were doing. The room was a mess and every transporter thought they were in the bumper car ride at the fair. WOW. I could not be more appreciative of the professionalism of all concerned, including being led by Ziggy..In the prep room Noel was the coordinator - he was so attentive, so professional that I would like to take him to dinner at a Cuban hideout . !!!! Once again had a referral that ended up with Baptist ENT.......and yet once again (like my 9 month long attempted appointment scheduling with the gut health department) I have spent 5 months to no avail leaving messages and getting disconnected from their phone system over and over again. This is not a provider where you can even get an appointment for your medical needs in any sort of timely manner. The fact you can't even get an appointment scheduled from a referral needs to be investigated by some kind of entity that oversees hospitals in the US. I'm filing another complaint with the federal government's complaint department for medical needs. read more

After over a year and a half of arguing, I was finally provided with my husband's medical file. My wonderful husband, a US Navy Veteran that was only 42 years old, never should have died. One mistake after another, starting with allowing him to lose all of his blood over the course of 6 hours after blood was ordered. His regular doctors and files were not considered or consulted. Everything-- I mean EVERYTHING was done improperly, despite his best efforts to come home to his loving family he died in this horrible place, which if not for them, I truly believe he would still be with us sharing his loving personality and warm smile. While I think very highly of the nursing staff, I feel my father's care was severely compromised by a lack of coordination by doctors. They were slow to react when his conditioned worsened, especially neuro, and I do not feel oncology tailored his care appropriately considering his age and risk category. While there are good ICU doctors, there is not overall coordination and case management, leading to confusion and a lack of holistic care, the social workers are mostly useless, and the patient experience office is totally ineffective so don't tell me to call them. read more

All of our doctors are from Baptist but the system to leave a message for them or their nurses is seriously in need of change. I called to leave a message for Dr. Darabant on a Monday and was told he or his staff would get the message in 24 to 48 hours. I called again and left another message after 48 hours and then another message. He is our cardiologist and my husband has had there cardiac surgeries in 2025. I got no return calls . My son, a Baptist orthopedic trauma surgeon emailed him and then on Tuesday , 8 days later, he returned the call. A more egregious issue was the call we got the same day from his nurse Cindy who had left a voice mail to call her the previous Friday at 4:00 which I did and was told she was busy. Today, she was calling to find the name of the dentist we use to send a clearance. I wanted to explain to her the frustration we felt but she kept talking right over me and repeated she only needed the number of the dentist. Finally, after attemping a number of times to ask her to not speak over me, I asked if she would please give me a minute to tell her about the frustration we were feeling at which time she hung up on me. Interestingly , hours later she called to say she had emailed my husband but we were "cut off" . Usually if you are cut off you call back not wait a few hours. She was extremely rude. The entire experience trying to get Dr. Darabant's office is completely unacceptable. I would love to know who thinks of the idea that is better to have people milling around at the entrance of the emergency room instead of inside where the area is bigger and people can really spread out. Instead family members are standing on top of each other waiting to get in because obviously you are there because you brought a love one for an emergency of some kind. Be assured this is a terrible idea, you are not doing anything great by having people stand outside with only two benches and the flow is steady, while people could be inside leaving space between chairs and sitting and not loitering the front of an emergency room. Whose great idea was that? You are literally creating a bigger problem due to the incoming and the waiting people. I love to know when the world is going to start using their brain again? At this hospital by trying to avoid something you are literally without doubt creating a bigger problem that shouldn't be there if you simply do business as usual. And before you say is not possible I will tell you it is, if a children hospital can manage to have people enter their emergency room and sit, so can this hospital. I know this because I was there, everything was cleaned organized and no one was milling on top of each other as you are now forcing people to do here. I visited the Baptist ER on 6/16/25 after a fall with a subsequent visit (due to being unable to see my PCP) to the Baptist Urgent Care on 6/20/25 and was diagnosed with 4 posterolateral fractured ribs. The Staff at Baptist ER & Baptist UC could not have been more considerate and helpful given my situation (my rating for the ER/UC is 5 out of 5). I was prescribed pain killers & RICE and advised to make an urgent "Pain Management Follow-up" with a physician affiliated with Baptist Health. I called the following day and I was still waiting until I called them again today (6/24/2025) only to be told no MD would take my case because they only do "interventional"...no opioids or oral scrips and no other option offered after requesting to speak to a "Lead". I am still waiting for a list of other physicians I may contact for support. I hope none of these MDs or their loved ones have to live through my pain and frustration. Is this the future of medicine? Do they even care? I worked as a Registered Nurse for over 20Years!!! read more

Absolutely BEST staff ever!!! But...... why don't they clean and disinfect the wheelchairs after every use, why don't the doors in the very new Cancer Center work automatically? They don't even work when you push to open for the disabled. It's been months! Why isn't there any water for guests- even the water fountains are turned off. My family member is a patient of Naomi Grace Dempsey MD she is at the Miami Cancer Institute at Florida Baptist! She should not have a license to practice! She has neglected by family member and is letting her just suffer in cronic, acute pain and sufferiung! All she does is push Chemo ! She admits people to the hospital and leaves them there for days and orders no testing! My family member is on week 2 of no pain relief and has not been able to Eat for months! I don't know if any hospitals get good ratings, but overall, it was a good experience. It has private rooms which is a huge plus. It's really nice visually and some rooms have a great view. Overall, I think the medicine is good, but there are some issues with being short staffed and response time. I also like the sushi Maka in the hospital. So you can get bubble tea or sushi. On May 6th I had a D&C performed at Baptist Hospital in Miami. The tissue was to be biopsied to determine if I have endometrial cancer. Through the incompetence of a staff member, all of the tissue was lost, leaving me with no possibility of a diagnosis. Five weeks later, not only has the hospital not had the decency or professionalism to contact me to apologize and take responsibility for their gross negligence, but they brazenly lied to my surgeon, claiming they had spoken with me about the matter. I'm fortunate to have not spent a lot of time in hospitals over the course of my life. When my doctor told me I'd be delivering my baby at Baptist Hospital in Kendall, I wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing. When all is said and done, I had a great experience! We visited two times prior to my baby's delivery for an infant CPR class and a breastfeeding class. The CPR class was great, but we didn't get too much out of the breastfeeding class (didn't love the instructor). It was great to visit prior to become more familiar with the parking situation (there is a large lot near where labor and delivery is which I prefer to parking garages) and all the different buildings. I'll spare you the details of my birth and instead focus on the AMAZING staff. Every nurse we encountered was out of this world. I felt so taken care of over the course of the three(ish) days we were there, I didn't want to leave. Even the security guards were funny and welcoming... Giving birth can definitely be scary, but I felt very comfortable at Baptist. When it came to sustenance, the food you could get delivered to the room wasn't half bad and there were always options. My husband made his way to the cafeteria a couple of times and they had even more to choose from and stayed open late. We had the basic room and it was tiny. I felt bad for my husband who slept on the squeaky pullout couch three nights in a row. I did catch a glimpse at the bigger suites and they looked very nice! Definitely worth the upgrade if you'll have a lot of visitors. While I hope I don't end up at Baptist again anytime soon, I'm happy that this was where I gave birth to my healthy babe! read more

I never thought I'd be smiling leaving a hospital. All I can say about the staff here is WOW. I came in for a torn meniscus completely immobile unable to walk. After being laughed at by a doctor in my own hometown of Jupiter, I was recommended Baptist by a close friend. Today I made the 1.5 hour drive down and let's just say I regret absolutely nothing. From the front desk staff to the incredible doctor (unsure of her name but she had big beautiful dark eyes, intelligent and attentive) to the amazing radiologist who cheered me up with the funniest conversation (thank you MaryAnn) despite not getting the MRI I hoped for I did get an x-ray and sound advice as to how to care for my knee. All around treated like an actual human being. No confusion, just straightforward protocol. Staff seems to work well together, making this hospital a functional unit with a positive environment. Parking can be tricky but it's well worth it. Driving 1.5 hrs is something I'd gladly do if I ever needed care again. Thank you guys for existing. You saved my friend's life and you're saving my ability to walk. No dramatics. All of you are amazing. read more

Wrong medication list on chart, despite me showing them medication list. Wrong weight by 30lbs. Computer system doesn't work. Didn't ask me for insurance. A mistake was made with registration and instead of speaking to the patient about it they start loudly talking shit about the whole situation in front of me. When My wife arrived at the emergency room area they took a long time to transfer her as an inpatient even though She had a massive headache when they finally transferred her to the neurology department at room 2222 She developed hiccups which it could be neurological related . The nurse with the name Claudia ext 48410 stated " there is no treatment for it " keep in mind I am not a doctor but it could be related to her headache, the lack of communication is unbelievable the neurologist came really early and and he was excellent evaluating my wife but the staff they just took their time assisting us. In addition. If a person comes with a headache and there is construction in her window with the drilling and pounding did not contributed to my wife well being , not to mention the view of debris is unbelievable , not bedside manner from nurse Claudia overall I am very disappointed with the experience. read more

I just called the Baptist health system telephone line. I was waiting to leave a message for my doctor. Instead after 17 minutes on hold I lost the music and then the call hung up on me. I think it is pretty ridiculous for one of the best hospitals in this country to have a telephone system that is so in adequate that patients cannot even leave messages. We typically have very good situation s and experiences with this hospital and our doctors, however, the telephone monitoring system to make and change appointments or to try and get in touch with your doctor has never been a good experience. read more

So many things wrong with the standard of care in this hospital. Let's start by the risk of falls which is extremely disturbing. The nurses hands are tied and there are no resources in which the hospital uses to assist with getting sitters for patients at risk. My father almost fell many times and they had no answers except that the are severely understaffed and that the sitters are basically not available. The handoffs from one shift to another are incomplete and the patients are not getting the care followed through. From the charge nurses, resource nurses on up it's a disaster. Shame on you Baptist Hospital and Patricia Rosello and administration for letting it get this bad!! I can't even find an email address for the CEO Patricia Rosello to be able to write her. Wow, what an absolute mess of a hospital. I am unfortunate and that I've spent a lot of time in hospitals between me and my other family members, this used to be the hospital we would always go to but based off our last visit this hospital is an absolute train wreck. They insisted my father had diabetes and decided they wanted to treat him for that while he was trying to recover from the surgery he had. We completely refused the insulin they continually tried to push on us they gave us diabetes meals trays which would be fine except this hospitals idea of a diabetes tray for food is a diet soda, a diet Jell-O, pudding unsweetened applesauce, yellow rice and chicken. FOUR sweet items and not one vegetable are you fucking kidding me. When we went to visit him after surgery there were sheets piled up under his ass and his gown laid on top of him and he was wrapped around his IV not one nurse did something about it and we had to do it ourselves. We had to go back to the hospital after he was released because they decided they weren't going to make sure his urine flow is constant so his bladder was backed up not one nurse measured bladder outtake even though we asked them if they needed to. The bedside manner is nonexistent and the nurses don't care if you get your pain pills there was several times my father was two hours late and crying in pain and not a nurse in sight. Every nurse that works on the floor should be absolutely ashamed of themselves and should be forced to go back to nursing school because clearly they didn't learn a goddamn thing. We are in the Hope building ICU. Loud conversations, laughter and bellowing voices! People are dying, and are chronically ill. HEALTHCARE AT ITS WORST! Patient care AT ITS WORST. Blame on Covid is what I hear, but shame on the facility for indifference.
