Shot a 30 on the back nine yesterday, Soup was on the house!! After my soup, I enjoyed some nice relaxation in the sauna. Fine gentlemen in there, I talked to my co-worker, Edith's, ex-husband, Roger, and it was good to check in on Edith post-INT. I digress. Table Creek is a fine establishment for golf, heart-warming conversations, and a fine bowl of Split Pea. I will probably make the drive back, as it is not far from my house, hopefully I can get a couple more shoots in before the weather turns south. I am excited to see how the leaves change, as since moving to Nebraska, the scenery hasn't been as exciting as I please- LOCALS ANY ADVICE? I guess I am a local, sigh. The first time my wife and I played we were 45 minutes early and they let us on early (stupid mapquest!) and they next time we were 20 minutes late (stupid interstate construction) and they let us on when we arrived. Nice people! This 9 hole course west of Lincoln is well-maintained, affordable (via great on-line rates) and a fair test of golf. While not overly long, two holes have split (elevated)/blind lay-up/go for it tee shots. A couple other holes have a creek that splits the fairway, again, lay-up/go for it shots. Both par 3s play uphill. No sandtraps. Oh... and no beer or liquor but it seems everybody brings their own cans of beer in. Works for me! Clubhouse has pop and snacks but outside of balls and tees they offer little else in golf stuff. I find the greens here very putt-able, they roll very fair. Overall, I really like this course (my wife does too).

A nice mix of hazards- sand traps at a lot of holes and a few water hazards. Some of the sand traps were in rough shape, several had standing water. Most of the greens were in good shape, surprisingly fast but every once on a while there would be a green with dirt patches. Several tee boxes were also any issue, a couple had no grass whatsoever, it was odd. I was here for a tournament and the beer cart girls came around and regular intervals and the club house staff offered up a free keg when the tournament in front of us delayed our start.

The new carts were fast and "executive" like compared to other courses. No two holes were alike and several were challenging as far as length and elevation. Wow! What a difference 3 months makes! The first time I tried the Mexican Night here (Previous…read morereview dated 5/25/16) it was outstanding! I went back tonight for takeout and it was a sad, sad experience. Sides were less than half the portion and tasted like warmed up Old El Paso. The Enchiladas that took up an entire styrofoam take out container and were smothered in melted cheese, fresh lettuce, and a wonderful homemade salsa were less than half the size, soggy from swimming in some watery approximation of mole' and filled with unseasoned ground beef. A good thing gone horribly bad. Too bad, it WAS really good.
