I have had excellent work from the maintenance staff and repairs have been very prompt. I have had same day repairs in many cases and always the gentlemen who work in maintenance have the attitude that they are happy to help. My apartments here have been spacious and very nice. I actually transferred to another unit recently (needed a ground floor unit with a garage) and that has been a Godsend. The neighbors I have met have been friendly and I this is my 3rd year here. I would not want to live in any other apartment in the Norton Shores area.

But how am I suppose to teach my kids to tell the truth when some grown ass adults don't even know how to do that? I am also a firm believer in the truth being what sets you free and lots of people are lying here. I will say, this post is about 10 months late. Better late than never, right? This was also suppose to be a joyful highlight of a big leap of faith I took in myself - starting over from scratch. I thought it was going to be a story of mom who quite literally just wanted a safe place to love on her babies. Now this has turned into a public service announcement for anyone who's looking into applying at Shoreline Landing Apartments. DONT DO IT. Back in March I signed my lease and began separating and packing up my life after ending a 8 year relationship. I was very happy/sad for sure. The very same day I signed my lease, I received a friend request from someone who I found out later to be one of the maintenance guys for my apartment complex. To make the story even more crazy, this guy was the one who did all the updates on my apartment before I moved in. If you can't read through the lines, my name was all over this place and it's pretty obvious that this person implanted themselves in my life - without my consent. Totally breaching the contract I signed with Shoreline Landing. By the end of April this guy had tried flipping my reality upside down on me more times than I care to admit. I tried nicely telling him that I was not having it and that I didn't have anything to offer him or his delusions. My first mistake was being nice but I didn't find that out til WAY later. This seemed to work until I went single on Facebook and he unblocked me to tell me "how proud he was of me" blah blah blah. We had the conversation about how you can still care about someone and know they aren't good for you. I ended up blocking him on Facebook and hoping that would just solve the problem. However, it made things worse. LOTS of instances happened between September - December and I'm not even going to get into details. So, Monday December 16th I went to my apartment complex and told them that I no longer felt safe. I literally let it all out and told them exactly how I was feeling...and their response was "he's not allowed in your apartment". Friday December 20th I was walking across the parking lot and this guy had the nerve to revv his engine and skid off like an idiot right next to me. I was LIVID and still kinda am. OKAY SO THATS THE MAINTENANCE CREW.. Now let's talk about the front office ladies. Not a SINGLE ounce of accountability has been taken for ANY of this lol. They are quite literally trying to pretend this didn't happen to me. Kinda like it's my word against theirs except I'm the one paying $1955 a month to live here. It seems to me like they are really good at making sure your rent bill is posted but can't tell you whether or not a sociopath has a key to your apartment. The cherry on top is the fact that they are still holding a $500 referral from a June move in. They also did not ever give Christy LeClear her $500 referral credit when I moved in. All I can say is I will be SO glad when this chapter of my life is OVER. I don't care if you believe in god, the universe, aliens or even big foot at this point. Some of you better get right with something bigger than you before the new year sets in. I will keep standing in my truth knowing that karma is a bitch.

The property has an outside pool and hot-tub that are well kept and available during warmer months (summer). The area is near Meijer and Walmart, but is still a very pretty area. The trees and landscaping make the area feel suburban while still having great accessibility to grocery shopping. There is a community center available which residents host small gettogethers and can connect with other people living in the property. I usually go there when I have homework or want to get out of the house. Plus, it is next to the pool. The fitness center is a little small, but has plenty of equipment to satisfy "home gym" requirements such as treadmills, ellipticals, weights, and exercise balls. The apartments are beautiful. I live in a 2-bedroom; 2-bath. They are properly maintained and in good condition. The counters are dark grey. The main floor of the apartment is wood and the bedrooms are carpeted. It is a great place to live. It is a non-smoking atmosphere and residents are help accountable to clean up after their animals and trash. It keeps the property clean and maintained. I think it is a great place to live in the Grand Haven area and would highly recommend the apartment complex and community.

Beginning in October, conditions at this property deteriorated markedly. After my conversion to…read moreJudaism, I observed a distinct change in the conduct of leasing consultant Cody K. He and his roommate, Lancelot M., repeatedly passed my door, knocking and fake coughing directly outside my apartment. This antisemitic behavior had not occurred previously and created an environment that was consistently unwelcome and hostile. Multiple incidents were recorded. The halls consistently smell of marijuana odor. Neighbors do not respect quiet hours. For example, one of my neighbors played his guitar and sang at 3am almost every weekend and management did nothing. My lease renewal was denied shortly after I filed a civil rights complaint with MDCR. This was purely a retaliatory decision and the timing was notable. Trillium management MSV/ Trillium Ventures has caused me hardship and suffering by denying my lease renewal, as a disabled Veteran, my lease renewal denial is exposing me to homelessness. This account reflects my experience at this property. Consider your options elsewhere.

Poor overall experience, they claimed that there was rules in place where they could not accept a 17 year old to live at an apartment even if they were not on the lease. This rule didn't exist for the first two days they knew this information. Didn't sign the lease. Looked like when i toured one of the apartments there was mold on the ceiling as well, something to keep a eye out for. There's also a larger than normal gap on the doors leading into the units, I found it strange.

They refuse to fix it and say it is the city's problem. They supposedly scheduled a meeting for the week after christmas. It is March, and I am still waiting. It would be at least four stars if it wasn't for the lack of action on a severe case of barking dogs. I really like my apartment here compared to anything I've lived in before. The price I pay is really good compared to Grand Haven, Holland, and Grand Rapids. The appliances are standard, nothing new, but all do the job. The apartment is spacious and the complex is nice. I've had maintenance done once and it was quick and the person was nice. I do think the people in the leasing office want to help you, especially Issac. The complex is very pet friendly so there are a lot of dogs and my experience with most of them has been good. That's where it leads to the bad. About 3 months ago, neighbors moved in above me with two medium size dogs that bark and howl all the time. I waited about a month before going to the leasing office to give them time to settle in and see if anything improved. After that time I went to the office and reported the barking and sent them clips of the dogs barking over the last month. Every few days to a week over the last 1.5-2 months I have been in the office updating them on the ever worsening situation. It literally sounds like I am living below a kennel from 6:30am-5:30pm every day Monday-Sunday. Over the time reporting the incidents, they have been emailed, called, and been shown the audio and the dog owners have done nothing to improve the situation. I am currently on hour 12 of listening to them back on my day off. Here's the problem, Isaac in the office has been helpful the whole time but the process he has to follow is so slow neighbors have been living next to a kennel for months. I do recommend living here you will just have to take the risk of this happening to you. If it does, I recommend getting public safety/animal control near the beginning of the process. Will update this review as the problem is handled. In order for this place to do anything to help you in these situations you have to spend months to go to court. They will not help you during the process, they will not reimburse you. You are a number on their financial checkbook to them and that is it. Do not live here.
