Yes, there's breakfast but it's nothing special and it is not a sit-down hot breakfast. The location is awful. Yes, it's close to the airport so if you need to be close to the airport that's a good thing I guess. But there's nothing other than a gas station and a couple of chain restaurants (McDonalds, etc.) within walking distance. And because it's right on Lake Hood the seaplanes are taking off and landing throughout the day which is VERY loud. If you're hoping for a mid-day nap be sure to bring earplugs. The entire hotel is decorated in a plane/flying theme - it was way over the top in my opinion but I guess that appeals to some people. The rooms are very dated (think early 90s) but clean and comfortable. The prices are really high, it was more expensive than the awesome B&B we stayed in just a few days prior (Wildflower Inn near downtown Anchorage, do yourself a favor and book there), and it didn't even have a full breakfast. The woman (owner?) who checked us in was nice but a bit disorganized. Overall I would not recommend this hotel, there's places that offer much plusher rooms and amazing breakfasts for less cost.

Delight!!…read more Our flight was delayed, so we didn't arrive until 4 a.m., but the staff was suuuper welcoming, and we were able to rest comfortably for the remainder of the morning! Breakfast was an extra-special treat because they had multiple gluten-free options AND gluten-free toast!! (It was a shared toaster, but since I'm not celiac, it was a welcomed gift!) We were able to catch our bus to Seward without a hitch, and the saloon (off the lobby) where we waited and enjoyed breakfast was absolutely magical! There was so much history to take in, and it was such a fun way to experience a little piece of Anchorage's past. The location was also great--close to all the touristy fun and gift shops! It is an excellent get away spot that is just right to relax and enjoy being in Alaska. The cabin is heated with a modern bathroom and partial kitchen. By partial kitchen I mean: refrigerator, microwave, sink and coffee maker. There is a gas grill on the front porch however. The cabin sleeps four with two in the master bed and two in the small single beds in the loft. There is also plenty of room for others to stretch out on the floor. The owner, Maggie, is very friendly and helpful. Hope, AK is small but is a very clean and nice historical town. Check out the Seaview Cafe for a great beer selection, delicious food and an amazing view. Definitely add the Black Bear B&B and Hope, AK as a side trip as you tour the Kenai Peninsula.

It turns out that the two-block walk is up a steep hill, so we needed to wait about 15 minutes for a taxi because walking uphill with all our luggage was impossible. We ended up at the hotel at about 11pm and had an 8am flight the next morning, so all we wanted to do was get some sleep. We arrived at the hotel with a security guard standing by their luggage carts, watching us schlep our four rolling bags. He or nobody else offered to help. The check-in staff was efficient and friendly enough, recommending we take the far elevator because the closer one would involve steps. We walked the length of the hotel, about as long as the cruise ship, pushing a heavy luggage cart. The cart came within millimeters of hitting the smoke detectors on the low ceiling, an uncomfortable feeling like driving a minivan through a low parking garage. When we arrived at our room, we opened the door and there was somebody sleeping in it! More correctly, they were in the adjacent room and the connecting door between the two rooms was open. We closed the connecting door and found ourselves in a studio with a double sized murphy bed with a couch in front of it. We moved the couch, lowered the bed, found pillows on a shelf and tried to sleep. We ending up sleeping only about three hours. The air conditioning was very loud and we used towels from the bathroom as pillows because the pillows were far too thick to be comfortable. Now awake, we checked our reservation and saw that we had reserved a room with a king bed, not a double pullout bed. We called the front desk staff, who again was friendly enough, but there was no manager on duty so they said someone would call us back. We expect in the end we'll get back the points we used for this room as Hyatt Rewards members, but that's not going to make up for the very poor ending to an otherwise wonderful vacation.

They have a super cute pricy gift shop as well with fun and unique items. Otherwise? Meh. The room we stayed in was aesthetically pleasing but not entirely functional or ready. The two beds left very little space between them or to their sides so often felt cramped. The bathroom door, a slider, had a useless lock that couldn't function due to the gap between the track and the frame. The water pressure left much to be desired and the bathroom itself was tiny. The room's condition was suspect upon check-in. The carpet between the beds was very damp and the smell of cleaner made me wonder if the carpet had been hastily cleaned. Which may have explained the splattered material on the bottom of the bathroom door which I could not determine what the splatter was. The room was not quiet. Frequent train whistles punctuated the night. The interaction with the front desk staff was unusual. They were quite evasive with every question. We inquired why the downstair entrance doors were always locked and were told there were characters nearby. We asked if there were safety concerns upon seeing the very attentive, actively patrolling visible security staff. We were told they were there primarily for the parking lot but I always saw them inside the building. The item that got me the most was their insistence we take an alternate route to our room instead of going up the elevator to our floor. No explanation, just insistence. Turns out there's four stairs leading down from our floor's elevator lobby to the hall. That isn't difficult to explain, and not difficult for us to manage. The hallway is very long when staying at the opposite end. The Wildbirch's interior, especially the lobby areas, are very fun and beautiful. For the price point, tho, I'm not sure I'd return with everything else.

Three downsides: the bathroom wasn't all that clean, I could hear every word and movement of the people in the next unit, and they leave their dog tied up with no bed or shelter. I didn't check the hot tub to see whether it was clean. The other people staying there werent being loud, the walls are just obviously not well insulated. That poor dog sat in the dirt for hours and hours on a short chain right outside my door. As a dog lover, this bothered me greatly.

Guests can use the living room, tv, and deck, and you have limited use of the kitchen (due to B&B health code requirements, I think). They have a mini fridge for you to store your food, and you can use the microwave. I stayed in the Moose Trails room, which is decorated in a moose theme (of course). The bed is great (brand new mattress), with a cute stuffed moose to keep you company. There is a small tv and some Alaska videos to watch. The bathroom is shared with the next room over (it's attached), and is stocked with plenty of clean fluffy towels. The room has a view of the mountains out back. The breakfasts here are amazing. I got a full home cooked breakfast every single day. The menus included french toast (with a choice of maple syrup, strawberry rhubarb syrup, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar), reindeer sausage, western style eggs, hash browns, breakfast burrito, and toast. Fresh fruit was also at the table every morning, as well as juice, milk, and coffee. All in all, it was a wonderful experience staying here. The owners are great people and gave me a real Alaska welcome. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip.
