The kids bedroom and the master bedroom are on either side, both with combo locks. Not sure how "secure" this setup is, especially for ones that truly have little ones staying in that room. The beds were so soft and squeaky, none of us got a good nights rest. They did a good job with the decor in all the common areas, bedrooms and bathroom. The two dilapidated RVs in the back of the property were quite the eyesore though. 100% contactless check in and out. I received a code via email 15 minutes before check in at 3pm and instructions later on how to check out. My parents were stoked to find the help yourself well stocked fridge and pantry items for breakfast. They cooked themselves some soft boiled eggs in the early AM and were happy campers.

We walked those routes many times during our stay. It was also very conveniently located within walking distance of the Alaska Rail station. It is not located near any grocery stores, however, so we did a big Costco shop shortly after our arrival in Anchorage. Our room was on the top floor and we had a great view through the living room window. The bedroom has plenty of closet space as well as a comfortable queen sized bed and ceiling fan. The bathroom is small with no bathtub, but has an awesome rain shower. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Because we stayed as long as we did, we did not receive the bagged breakfast offered to other guests. We were asked what we would like and were given fruit, bread, eggs, yogurt, butter, bacon, bananas, apples, oranges and granola. Basically, everything we asked for, we received. It was great being able to make our own breakfasts! Compared to the price of hotels, many of which are located only a block or two away from the Arctic Fox, this place is a good deal. As well, as the privacy of your room, you have access to a large outdoor deck with tables and chairs as well as a grassy area with a table and chairs and there is a common room and a laundry room. A cab to/from the airport cost us just $25. Now, as for the negatives. Anchorage has a homeless problem. Many homeless are attracted to a soup kitchen located within a block of the Arctic Fox. They did not harass us or approach us at any time, but they are there in numbers and it wasn't all that pleasant having to walk by them as often as we did. Most nights we didn't hear them either, but there were a couple of nights where they kept us awake with their shouting. This b&b is also located near the train tracks and during the day, especially if you have your windows open, the trains can be noisy. We were not bothered at night, however, because the bedroom is on the side opposite to where the tracks are located.

There are no elevators so if you have bags they will help you carry them up. The common area is on the 2nd floor and so was our room. Some rooms share bathrooms. We didn't want to share so we requested a room with your own bathroom. When we checked in, Carol took good care of us, she was our host during our stay. She was a sweetheart, every morning she made breakfast and it was good. Yes, your stay comes with free breakfast. If you can't stay for breakfast just let your host know the day before and they will prepare you a bag and have it ready for you in the morning. House keeping was great! Our room was spotless! The whole place was spotless! The only complaint I have is that the walls are thin. It's an old house, I understand. We are from the east coast so we were in bed by 8pm. When other people came back from dinner we could hear them loud and clear, the walking and closing doors, etc. This was our first time at a Bed & Breakfast so we didn't know what to expect. While we enjoyed our stay we have discovered that we actually preferred hotels over B&B's. If you like B&B's and don't mind walking to the center of town or driving, then I would say give this place a try.

It's a quaint little hotel located a few blocks off of Anchorage's 'main drag' where all of the tourist shops, restaurants, and night life places reside. It's in a nice quiet area with gorgeous views overlooking the mountains that surround the city and the Cook Inlet (bay). You're walking distance from everything downtown Anchorage has to offer, yet secluded enough to not be ridden with constant noise and traffic while you're relaxing in your hotel room. But how are the rooms? Every room in this hotel is a suite. I am staying in the queen size suite and I'm very impressed. The place is decorated in traditional hotel fashion and everything seems very well-maintained. There is a hole in the wall in the bedroom- but when I approached the front desk about it they apologized and even offered to change me to another room. I declined- a small hole in the wall isn't going to deter me, and if nothing else I was very impressed with the efficiency in which the hotel staff tried to accommodate me when I mentioned a problem (I'm sure if I complained about the loud furnace- they'd do the same thing). The suite is very roomy. I paid $110 for one night (including tax and all additional fees). With that price I got a large apartment-style room. There is a bedroom with a queen size bed, built-in dresser, end tables, clock, and flat screen TV. There is also a living room with a large desk in the corner, sofa, chair, armoire, and another flat screen TV. Off to the side of the living room is the kitchenette area complete with a small kitchen table with two chairs, a fridge, an oven, a dish washer, sink, coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. The kitchen is stocked with all items needed to cook comfortable including pots, pans, dinnerware, silverware, mixing spoon, spatula, and a can opener. Impressive! The bathroom is fairly large with a nicely sized bathtub with a built in shower and a vanity area. This room alone is very big and could comfortable fit a group of 3 to 5 people. A GREAT hotel for families and small adult groups. The hotel is very comfortable, tastefully decorated, and just a genuinely nice place to sit and relax (once that furnace shuts off for a minute!). Overall, I'm very impressed with this hotel and for the price would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Anchorage and wanting to stay in the downtown area.

Great B&B with wonderful hosts!…read more My friend and I stayed three nights in July 2016. We were in town for the Her Tern Half Marathon, and we couldn't have asked for a better location. The start line was literally right in front of the B&B! Super convenient! The B&B is also conveniently located to attractions in Downtown Anchorage. For example, it's only about a 20-25 minute walk to the Alaska Railroad Depot. The hosts really go out of their way to make you feel at home. Vic is super sweet, and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him. He offered to drive us to the Alaska Railroad Depot and even offered to drive us to the airport at 5:00 am on our day of departure. We really couldn't have asked for better hosts! The rooms are clean, and we found our room very spacious even though it was the smallest room. The shared bathroom was always clean and had all of the essentials - towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair dryer, etc. If I'm ever in the Anchorage area again, I will definitely stay here!

I chose to stay at a BnB instead of a hotel for recovery; mostly because of an intimate setting instead of a busy hotel. They had hosted others for surgery and knew a lot about the schedules, the recovery of others and calmed a fear or two. The breakfasts were over the top with fruit, cereal and hot breakfasts. There was always tea and coffee available. They were helpful, provided a few rides to the surgery center, played cards with me, and had great conversations! Thank you Jim and April! I plan to be back to see you soon and stay whenever we have a need to stay in Anchorage!!
