Hidden Gem On Main is just that... a hidden gem on Main Street in Wallingford. It's hidden on the backside of the building with Archie Moore's for which there is a lot of public parking back there too. I've walked by the shop a few times on my way to other businesses in the facility and my curiosity finally lead me in. The Hidden Gem is a descent size shop, clean, organized, and has a lovely aroma of incense. It felt very inviting and open. They have a huge assortment of crystals, stones, and gems--small and large. There is a large display of incense too. Many other treasures can be found throughout the shop like candles, plants, and unique items from local artists and brands. I found adorable Alice in Wonderland candles that I may need to return for. Everything seemed fairly priced too. The shop's staff are beyond nice and they have readers (tarot, physic, crystal) at the shop everyday. Whether you are looking to add some enchantment to your everyday life or looking for a unique gift for a crystal loving friend, Hidden Gem On Main is the spot! It's also fun to browse around too like I did on my first visit. I will likely be back to do a little gift shopping soon. read more

Hidden Gem is one of the closer metaphysical stores near me, so I have frequented this place over the years. The people working there are friendly, knowledgeable, and no question is too silly for them. I am not consistent with my practices, so I usually have some questions about materials and uses. The pace is well organized and not overwhelming. Sometimes these places put way too much out and it looks messy/cluttered. The store hosts events like readers, sound healers and classes. My new obsession is Hidden Gem On Main. This store has all the good vibes and is like walking into a breath of fresh air. From their stunning crystals and adorable volcanic rock statues, this shop stole my heart. I didn't get her name but I assume it's the owner who was in the store when we went, she is lovely and so helpful. Her positive attitude will brighten your day and all her items will uplift any spirt. This is a place I will be stopping in frequently into. read more

I was in the area and found this store online and was excited to visit. At the front door they have a sign about "discrimination". They said they don't care about whether you're vaccinated or if you wear a mask. It's not discrimination to ask someone to wear a mask to protect themselves and others. Needless to say I didn't even go in the store because I don't want to give someone my business who thinks protecting others is discrimination. read more

This shop is such a special place; I don't say that only as a customer, but as a teacher there as well. I am openly liberal, I work in healthcare/ choose to mask and vaccinate, I support the BLM, and openly do not condone what happened at our nations capital, all while having differing views then several of my colleagues without ever having been made to feel lesser than or outcast because of it. I have seen the shop accommodate all levels of need, including offering private shopping time for those worried about what is going on right now. That being said, one of the things I love about this place is that we can all leave the world, the politics, the heaviness at the door and enter into a place of peace and energy restoration. It is a true melting pot of ideology, and they have never been close minded to anything I have wanted to say and I try to do the same. While I may disagree with how others feel, for them to outcast someone for their views would be just as wrong as doing the same to me for mine. Peace read more

While the shop is cute and had what I was looking for, I was shocked at 1. how many people were in the small store at once (I didn't notice until I was already in so I grabbed what I needed and tried to be quick), and 2. mask laws are not enforced. I was waiting at least 6 feet away from the person in front of me at the checkout counter when the woman turned, walked towards me, and coughed directly in my face. Of course, she wasn't wearing a mask and was seemingly a friend of the owner's. I will NOT be back to a shop that doesn't care about the safety of customers. read more

It was concerning to see a sign on the way in that explained this shop trusts that people will do what is right for them in terms of wellness. When it comes to mask wearing, it is not just about oneself, but the safety of the community and the message presented by this sign made no consideration for the more vulnerable among us. While the store is beautiful I will not feel comfortable returning without the store taking more precautions to help protect the community. Additionally, to the sign that states no discrimination is tolerated - having an opinion about those who choose not to mask or get vaccinated for no solid reason (I.e medical condition) is not discrimination as it is an opinion about one's choices not something they are unable to control (race, sexual orientation, gender, etc.) read more

They don't wear masks inside and encouraged others not to wear masks. They "keep an eye on" people of color and go out of their way to take items while they're shopping so that they can't be stolen, under the guise of "customer service." It's clear they are not ok with people of color in this place. Disappointing crystal selection. read more
