I really got the best bang for my buck and is a true all inclusive experience that I will never forget. The owners here are also very friendly and their mission about starting this place years ago shows their dedication to the hospitality market. This place is clean and it feels like I'm staying at a four-star hotel. They do have a lot of terms and conditions when it comes to booking so be aware before booking please don't make any changes. The lobby itself is beautiful , the rooms itself are incredible. They have a beautiful balcony if you stay in the main part of the hotel. The outdoor area is also really good and has great views. you even have a bonfire. The guests here are really down to earth and friendly. This place hosts weddings and other Gatherings as well. Since there wasn't a lot of guests here, I really wish there was an opportunity to actually have the bar open during our visit. The Innkeeper also does a great job taking care of the hotel. Even though it's a bit far even though it's a bit far from a grocery store I recommend buying your stuff in advance. If you're making your way to the winery Trail or to the hiking trails you're in the absolute heart of it all and that's why this whole house and the prime location that it is! If youre not already aware, this area is fast become the Napa Valley of the Midwest. If you love fresh air,good food and wine, and genuinely nice people, this is a great destination. Regarding The Alto Wine Trail Loft: This is a really beautifully restored building in the old, historic downtown Makanda, Illinois area, literally in the heart of the Wine Trail area. The actual street looks like youve stepped back in time to the late 1800s...It looks like youre on a movie set! Very nice amenities, very comfortable beds, beautiful appointments, full kitchen, and wi-fi provided. We definitely noticed and appreciated how meticulously the place was taken care of, its nice and CLEAN! Also, very courteous staff. Brian, the owner, is a great guy...he is very helpful, and knowledgeable about the area: its history, and all the best places to see and visit. The location couldn't be better, close to all the vineyards and restaurants....minutes to downtown Carbondale,and very close to all the great shopping and restaurants in Marion,and Benton,Ill. When we got here at about 7pm, we were greeted instantly by a front desk clerk who was really friendly and quick. Check in was such an easy process, which was really helpful since I had a 5 year old who was dying to swim after spending 10 hours in the car with the promise of the end goal being to swim at the hotel. The hotel lobby and hallways were all really clean and well maintained, and the room was nice but I was really surprised at the size of the bathroom. Everything was well stocked and the shower worked amazing. The pool area was clean, it was nice that there was a baby pool that's 1.5' deep attached to the pool. While the pool area felt a little crowded because of all the people there, everyone was really nice who was in that area. While the friendliness of the guests isn't a reflection of the hotel itself it is a helpful reflection of the travelers that go through the area. There is a handful of restaurants nearby with Red Lobster and Olive Garden literally being in the same parking lot. We walked to Olive Garden in about 2 minutes. The continental breakfast was ready and out by 6am start time, and was pretty decent. They had a good selection of breads, pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, waffle makers, eggs & sausage and biscuits & gravy. I'd definitely stay here again if I'm in the area, and I'd recommend it to anyone staying with kids.
