My 5 year old wanted to have an art themed birthday party. I searched around and Hidden Talent got great reviews. The staff was very nice and friendly. The studio is clean and easy to get to from our house. I had a couple of issues with the party. First, this was a group of 5 year olds and the teacher chose an art project that was super challenging. My son loved it but I think it could have been a little better chosen for the age group. Secondly, I think that there should be some sort of paper trail after I booked the party. Everything is done verbally. I wanted to pay for the upgraded package or at least thought I told the manager this but when it came time for the party we did not get the upgraded package. It was a bit confusing. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend this kind of birthday party to others. read more

To our surprise, in 3rd grade, my daughter's picture of an oak tree was selected to be the cover of the school yearbook. Wow!?! As parents, we'd always been impressed with her creativity, but now the world was giving us feedback reinforcing that it wasn't just silly parental pride. What to do? Somehow we came upon the great answer of taking weekly Father-Daughter art classes at Hidden Talent. We've been doing it for 2 years and my daughter and I just love it! The teachers at Hidden Talent are all very caring, talented, friendly, and genuinely interested in teaching the students. We've explored a variety of mediums, techniques, and materials in our projects. We spent last fall working on the human form - something really great for a 5th grader to begin to learn. Simply a wonderful way to expose children to art. They will learn the concepts and different approaches and fun fun while doing it. My six-year-old son lives it here. Found out about this place when I was up in Norcal visiting friends. We took my friend's daughter to a class here and found out they teach adults too. My friend and I ended up having her husband babysit later in the week so we could take an adult art class!! Super cool way to spend time with friends while creating a little art. Plus, the teachers were encouraging and really nice...even if my previous art experience stopped at drawing stick figures. Definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

My 9 year old daughter went to the summer camp program and is scheduled to attend the school year art program starting Sept 9th. We love this studio. The summer camp is definitely worth the money, $50 per 3 hour class. That's right 3 hours per class. You can sign up for multiple classes per week or just once a week. My daughter would bring home 2-4 art projects each time. The art is unique and creative. She felt she could express her style under the guidance and direction of the instructors. The schedule is very flexible for the camp and regular classes for the school year. We enjoy coming here and can't wait for the next session to start this weekend. She will be attending once a week for $30 per class for an hour. read more

I was very disspointed with this place's customer service and teaching style. If you want your child to just copy off someone's art instruction in a huge hurry and not use his/her creativity then this is the right place for you. I took my son here and was actually taken back by how rude the instructor was. She was so stressed and in such a hurry that made me stressed watching her. He has been with them for 2 years now (after school program first year, and now at the studio). The art school teaches him to think of the colors he wants to use, after the theme/activity is decided. Class size is small which is good because children tend to get more attention. Teacher quality depends on who you get to work with. It seems to me that older teachers have more patience and communication techniques with kids. It would be nice if the class can start and end on time. To be fair, teachers can really try to begin the class on time while waiting for those who are (constantly) late. In that case, kids who are on time won't be rushed through because of others' mistakes. I mean eventually we all pay our fees equally. Also, it would be helpful if parents and kids know a bit ahead of time what will be working on in the next lesson. It doesn't have to be very detailed, maybe just verbally bring it out at the end of the lesson to help kids build up the excitement. Again, that has to do with teacher experience. It sucks the whole plaza does not have a strong cell phone signal. It really makes me nervous to imagine what to do if horrible things happen. read more

Love this place. My son expressed an interest in an art class, and we chose this place based on reviews and location. Everyone there is genuinely nice, and classes are very flexible. You can sign up for a whole session, or come on a drop by base. Classes are an hour long. I was afraid it will be too much for my 5 year old, but they have a small play area where my son like to play if he needs a short break. I like that they are experimenting with different materials, and that they hold an art show in which every student can participate. Bottom line - my son enjoys it and brings home beautiful artwork. read more

I took my son this weekend to hidden talent. The teacher Christina was very rude. My son dint understand what she said so instead of helping him understand in some other way she said mean things to him and made faces at him inspite of me sitting right there. I was so disheartened. She counter argued saying he did not listen. What a teacher! She just wanted to get through the class instead of taking time to help him understand. read more

I am amazed at their patience and understanding since I am not an artist but would like to think I am. They were really helpful and very creative ideas. I met Jean & Shana three years ago. I was so impressed by their art work that I hired them to do a couple of murals for my business in Willow Glen called Our Sacred Space Wellness Center. The ladies worked hard and completed the murals in a short time. I was surprised. Pleasantly surprised!!! The murals were soo beautiful!!! Since than, I have been keeping my eye on them. I have seen them put forth their best foot and take off. Its just amazing to witness. Now, Yelp said don't write a review for friends, but what happens when you start off being business associates and take it to the next step? These woman are so great with their art work that it rolls over into their personal life. Those are the kind of friends I value. Friends with integrity, honesty and love. And those are the kind of woman I want teaching my loved ones. I took four of my granddaughters to Hidden Talent Art Studio for an evening of private studio time. Our instructor, Palerie (?), was knowledgeable, friendly and her passion for art was great. So, the owners and instructor were able to help us pick out a painting project that we could complete in two hours for ages, 8, 11, 14, 15 plus old me. We had a wonderful time and the girls and I were thrilled with our paintings at the end of the evening. There was lots of encouragement, easy to understand instructions, and a comfortable studio environment. The price was great at $30.00 per person for over two hours of studio time, a private event/instructor, everything we needed for our art projects, and the time I got to spend with my granddaughters! Let me start by saying I'm not much of an artist. I was dragged here by some friends of mine on a friday night for an adult art class and beer sampling. It turned out to be a ton of fun. We tried a few different types of beer and I was actually able to create something that could be called art. They only have these classes every once in a while. Shana and Jean bring out the artist out in everyone. We have been attending since they opened and what a delightful experience. We have been involved in Girl Scout activities, Girls Night Outs, and regular art classes here for my daughter. Each event is special. My child has grown artistically and I have gorgeous art work as a bonus framed in my home. We hope to continue in the years to come. We certainly wish local public schools still valued art. Hidden Talent Art Studio is a great place to introduce children to art and have them continue learning and growing. My older daughter did a few sessions and the teachers always came up with new projects. I appreciate the fact that they get to try out different mediums and explore different types of art. They also put on an amazing art show which showcases all of the talent that comes through their studio. The children get to choose their favorite project from the session that they completed and the kids (and adults!) get to show it off.
