a drink in a martini glass

This is the coolest bar, and Jerry is the best bartender! We were in town for a family event, and stopped in here for some cocktails to unwind. The drinks were great--- I had the aviation and one other, and my fiance got a Sazerac and two others. The best part of the visit was the history of the place-- it's 100 years old-- and chatting with the bartender/owner Jerry. Jerry told us all sorts of interesting facts about the space, and really cool stories about his own life. That's not to mention that he somehow remembered all of our names without being introduced. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in town!

It's a go-to place if we want a cocktail to start the evening. Casual, nice staff, good drinks - what's not to like?

First I had some pastrami egg rolls that are surprisingly delicious. Crispy on the outside and flavorful on the interior. The shrimp were very average and didn't seem freshly battered there. The sauce however was tangy, spicy and a perfect match for the crunchy shrimp. Jalapeño poppers were the star of the night here. Spicy, cheesy, and they come with a rugged texture on the surface. Ranch dressing was thick perfecting for dipping. The brisket macaroni and cheese was a bitter sweet experience. The meat was shredded and flavored. It honestly tastes more like pulled pork butt. That part was delicious. However, the macaroni has NO flavor or seasoning whatsoever. There's no cheese pull or roux to be found. I would not order it again. Overall this is a very friendly bar in a small town. So far it's number 2 in this area.
