Undoubtedly the best selection I have seen in the Midwest, but going there leaves me hugely frustrated - so I won't be back. Visit #1 - greeted by a door guy asking to see IDs (I get it, although I am 40+ years old and could not possibly pass for someone too young to be in there), but not spoken to by another staff member for over 20 minutes even though they outnumbered the customers 3 to 1. Finally had the opportunity to ask some questions about a vaporizer. Wow, educate your staff (or yourself) on the products you sell - at least to some basic level. This girl was not only ignorant to the function and use of a vape, she started spewing forth such b.s. I had to just smile. Clearly overcompensating for her lack of knowledge by going crazy trying to convince me that her opinion of different vapes was fact. Talking down to customers and bad about competitors is tacky and bad business. Good price on the vaporizers, overall. Visit #2 - not greeted by anyone and ignored regardless of what section of the store I was in or how long I hung at a cabinet, case or counter. Left after waiting around for assistance over 30 minutes. Thanks for saying, "Have a nice day" as I left the store, though. I guess I'll swing in when you are less busy... oh wait, I was the only customer in the store. 3rd and Final Visit - Called on Thursday to get the price and availability on the Plenty Vape before driving up (from south of Owatonna) on Friday to make the intended purchase of over $400 to start with. Arrive. Not greeted by anyone. Plenty of customers and staff in the store. Stood at the vape counter for about 15 minutes before a girl stepped back behind it. She stepped in front of me, avoided eye contact, bent down, picked up a cardboard box, turned and left. Hmm. Just a couple minutes before another girl stepped behind the counter, never acknowledged me, walked to the opposite end of the counter, opened and adjusted something, then called over a customer whom she had spoken to about something and continued to work with him. Upon the completion of their interaction, she walked out from behind the case and never came back. Awesome. I feel really important and appreciated, once again. wth? 40 minutes after arriving, I approach the register counter and ask for some assistance. Nearly 10 minutes later, an irritated looking girl comes out to "help" me. I tell her I want to purchase the Plenty vape, but that it is marked (a mere) $10 more than I was quoted less than 24 hours earlier. I am told that there is "no mark up" on the vapes and they couldn't sell it for less than priced (yeah, right, NO markup. whatever). Less than a minute later I am informed that they don't have any of that model in stock at this store. I called this location. Yesterday. I was told the wrong price and was told that my drive wouldn't be a waste because they had this product in stock. Bad business. Lost business. I will not return and I will tell every soul I know that this place is well worth avoiding. Competition (especially online) is way too great for a business that treats people like this to have hopes of staying in business, no matter how many people (like me) want to show patronage to local business. To Hideaway Management: 1. Customers - "You should only shop on Sundays here because is free parking" lol 2. There have been others comments about your staff. The first staff was great. Brought me right to right spot. Was going to BUY a $20 item but then she talked me to a $55 item and YES I did have several hundred in my pocket and NO I didn't spend it on parking. I was from out of town and didn't come broke! I run my own business, have no boss, Work my own hours. Blah blah blah.money is no issue to me. 10% meant nothing to me , 50% would mean nothing at that point. 3. The outward assumption on her was the blue hair yellow teeth and jumpy personality. Not being able to handle customers and being at the cash register was also part of it MANAGEMENT. I told here I'll be right back with my Id - she said " yeah you better." And that's why she gets the grade school child rating! 4. The reason for the bad review is the blue hair girls comment " yeah you better go get that!" That is the reason for this review. Yes! So next time your staff wants to freak out in front of customers and MANAGEMENT wants to call their customers out and say they have no money to spend and they are window shoppers... LOVED THIS PLACE! Just wrote a super long review about how awesome my experience was.. but it disappeared on me. Maybe that's for the best so you guys don't have to read my novel on The Hideaway :-P All in all, EVERYONE SHOULD GO HERE!! Like other people have said, it was busy when we stopped by but we made sure to tell someone when we had found what we wanted to see - as soon as someone was able to help, they came right to us! Enjoyed looking around at their glass gallery located right in the middle of the store - what amazing glass art, pretty sure you can smoke out of most/all of them too!! This place is the best pipe shop in the area!!! Hard to get help when it's busy, but that just means you get to look at all the heady gallery pieces while you wait ;) I've bought cheap $5 pipes here and even fancy hundred+ dollar water pieces... they've got everything and all the right prices.
