I've been going here for a few years and this will be last time. My masseuse Wally was eating food during my massage.. I noticed every few minutes he stopped and I heard a sound like wrapper crinkling. First I was tried to block it out and convince myself it was nothing, but then I started smelling the food. When he took his next "mini lunch break" I got up and asked him if he was eating. He quickly tried to hide it and denied it. When he did it again I stopped the massage altogether. I spoke to the first desk lady. She apologized and didn't charge me anything. While I was talking to her, Wally tried multiple times to defend himself and I shut it down because he would flip flop between making excuses or just denying it saying he was only drinking sips of his soda. Crazy because 3 secs ago I saw a burger wrapper with fries inside before he threw it out. Eventually he got frustrated and drove off and left the place during his shift.... You don't remove your clothing (it's not allowed) as the five beds are all open and next to each other in the one large room. My only complaint is the front receptionist who is an older lady. There's no greeting or acknowledgement of your arrival. She's not welcoming or pleasant. Phone ringer volume is off the charts loud and you have to listen to it ring or her loud conversation with callers throughout your massage. I was assigned to Jessica, and my husband saw James. Unfortunately, my experience with Jessica was frustrating. Since I booked a 30-minute massage, I specifically asked her to focus on my neck and shoulders, but she repeatedly moved down to my hips and thighs instead. The pressure was also inconsistent, alternating between very light rubbing and sudden, intense elbow pressure. As a result, my neck and shoulders (the areas I needed the most work on) were barely addressed. On the positive side, my husband really enjoyed his massage with James. I had a deeply uncomfortable experience at Hide's Shiatsu in Gardena today. I had a 2:00 p.m. massage scheduled, and unfortunately, it was the worst and most uncomfortable massage experience I've ever had. During approximately the first 5-10 minutes, the male masseuse repeatedly pressed his groin against my arm while massaging me. At first, I assumed it was accidental and expected him to reposition himself. Instead, it continued. At one point, he positioned my hands facing upward and slowly moved closer until I could feel his groin against the bottom of my wrist. That was when I immediately moved my hand away and told him he was too close to me. The situation made me extremely uncomfortable. I spent part of the massage genuinely questioning whether what was happening was intentional and whether I, a 33-year-old large man, was being sexually assaulted by this masseuse. Regardless of his intent, no client should be put in a position where they are questioning something like that during a professional massage. After I told him he was too close, the remainder of the massage was also unpleasant. The pressure was extremely rough and painful despite me telling him at least six separate times that he was pressing too hard. He also repeatedly rubbed my shirt against my skin with enough force that the friction left my skin feeling like it had rug burn. Whether the inappropriate physical contact was intentional or the result of extremely poor professional boundaries, I can only describe my experience as disturbing and uncomfortable. A massage is supposed to be a setting where you can relax and trust the person providing the service. Instead, I spent much of mine uncomfortable, on edge, and questioning what was happening. This is a budget friendly no frills shiatsu massage parlor. There's no individual rooms, or even room dividers. Everything is out in the open. The beds and equipments are also dated and not exactly the cleanest. Appointments can be easily made online or by calling. My masseuse was excellent. He will stretch you in ways you didn't know you could. The constant placement of white cloth onto my face felt absolutely suffocating. Felt like I couldn't breathe and actually very unpleasant. Getting beads of sweat dripping right onto me coming from the masseuse also grossed me out. I appreciate his hard work and effort he put forth but it was a bit much for me. Perhaps this place isn't so bad for those who enjoys their routine 30 minutes massage. No sweat coming from anybody. Don't sign up for a 90-minute session if you're looking for a relaxing massage. It's not relaxing hearing commotions of people coming in and out, having no privacy between tables, and having to smell other people's residues through the headrests/table/or face cloths. Sunny is the GOAT. I've been experiencing muscle and fascia tightness, numbness, and pain. I've been coming here the past couple months, and my body feels looser, lighter, and more flexible. I was really exited about this place. I went the first with Jason who was amazing and really relieve my hip pain. I was excited to make a second appointment and requested deep tissue. When I arrived I was placed with Sunny, he was nice but i do not believe he should be giving massage for people who request deep tissue. I've been coming here for years. Their receptionists are hit or miss. I could deal with it as long as the massage was good. This last time missed the mark. The massage at best was OK. What really annoyed me is the unmanned desk. There's a sign telling you to turn off your device. Fine. But, when the receptionist is not at her desk, no one answers the phone. And there's 2 ringers going off. And then the answering machine goes on. You can hear all of this. The phones rang at least 6 times with the answering machine. Hidè's Shiatsu always has its front door open which is reassuring since circulating fresh air dilutes and flushes out any bacteria or virus so infection rate is lowered. There is disinfectant hand gel conveniently at the reception which has a plastic shield.  指圧/Shiatsu (shee ah tsoo) means finger pressure in Japanese. There are different pressure points in the body that coincide with Chakras. Accupressure tries to unblock the various Chakras for more flowing energy throughout the body.    Fees are $1 per mInute in 15 minute increments. I opt for 45 minutes. Tip your masseur accordingly.  There  are 5 massage tables with no partitions. Every time I have been here I was way over 6 feet away from other customers since there was only one other guest.  However, if all 5 tables were used, the physical separation may be closer to  6 feet.  Leave your mask on at all times.  Take off any watches, wallets, cell phone, etc out of your pickets. A tray is provided which they slip under the massage table.  Keep your clothes on, but take your shoes off. A sheet is placed over you, and you're mostly massaged through the sheet.  Takè (tah keh) is my masseur. He will ask  where in your body you are hurting.  Very instinctive in knowing where your kinks & weak spots are, and works on them to just beyond the point of comfort. (Remember, no pain, no gain.)   Nondescript, quiet, soothing music lulls you at Hidè (hee deh). Takè pretty much does a full body massage. Time flies quickly. Great to have a body tune up now and then. I highly recommend Takè who is very competent at his craft.  Takè disinfects and cleans tbe massage table after very customer. Female receptionist (7/21 4:00pm) was exceptionally rude and curt. I attempted to make 2 appts, but she was unwilling to book 2 masseuses with strong hands for the requested day. She stated they were all strong and was adamant that I choose who I wanted! I've never been there, so how would I know who to request?? I have never come across any receptionist in my decades of having massages, who wouldn't want to assist me with my particular request. Receptionist then told me to choose from 4 available masseuses for the particular day/time requested, so I chose two names and then she tells me that I need to call back because she has other calls she needs to take. Really? I repeated that I would like to book 2 appts with the 2 masseuses available who I chose, and she repeated that I need to call back! Made an appointment for one hour. When I arrived I asked if it was possible to change my time to 90 minutes. They were able to accommodate my request. Sunny worked on me and he was absolutely amazing. My shoulder has really been bothering me for the past couple of days and my neck. Sunny's magic hands and elbows knew exactly what he was doing. The pressure was perfect. What I didn't care for is it's too bright and can get loud when people walk in asking questions. I little barrier to help break up the noise and dimming the lights would be my suggestion. However this place is very convenient and has long hours. I will be back - soon.
