Both were seriously unbelievable therapists! You honestly wouldn't expect to find such top-notch therapists at a little Asian massage place like this, but they absolutely deliver. Came in tonight for a much needed shiatsu massage. I booked 45 minutes each for my husband and myself. I didn't realize how tight my upper back was until he started applying pressure using his thumbs. Shiatsu is different from Swedish massage, but I find it to be rejuvenating and relaxing nonetheless. 45 minutes is just enough time to get most of the kinks out of my back. Of course, 60 minutes would be nice but I'd rather come in more frequently. There is privacy with the tables separated by curtains and patients remain fully dressed during a shiatsu massage. Prices are reasonable for the quality of massage. Whenever we come in for a massage, we can't wait to come back again. read more

I was recommended to this place and I was excited to try. The recommended massage therapist wasn't available so I got someone else who turned out to be less experienced. The facility is clean and service was professional. It's Shiatsu and you don't even have to take the clothes off. They also work over a sheet of paper so no touching involved. They do use the elbow to achieve the deep tissue massage. I do prefer a more experienced therapist who would rub and detect knots for me. In general, I think this is a good place, but like others personal services, it's highly personal and you might try a few therapists to find your preference. read more

I had months of constant pain in my upper back and neck -- especially around my shoulder blades. It got to the point where just lying down would cause sharp, uncomfortable pain. I finally decided to try a 30-minute shiatsu session at Hide's, and honestly, it was life-changing. The massage was intense (this is not your typical relaxing spa massage), but in the best way. It felt like my body was being reset. The pain that had been bothering me daily is now significantly reduced -- more of a dull ache than the sharp, constant discomfort I had before. Obviously, 30 minutes isn't going to fix everything, but I genuinely feel like my quality of life has improved after just one session. I'm already planning to come back for a full hour next time. If you're looking to relax and get pampered, this might not be for you. But if you're in pain and want to get your body back on track, I can't recommend this enough. I just got a 75 minute massage by Ashley W. (Crenshaw location) and the massage was phenomenal, one of the Best massages I've ever had. I like a massage with a lot of pressure --- effective pressure where it is needed. Ashley's technique was on point.She got all my knots out. She has indeed mastered her healing artistry. I had left shoulder pain from sleeping on a different pillow. I could barely move my shoulder without pain. It's taken a few sessions but my shoulder is almost back to normal. Sangjin was great. He works at your comfort level. He also worked out my lower back. Ever since my shingles infection my body has been out of whack and hide shiatsu it getting me back to normal one session at a time. Ps. I tried Gardena but the tables aren't separated. No private rooms. I prefer Torrance for that reason. Lately I've needed to put in many extra hours at work, even with a stand up desk with an ergonomic chair, both at work and home it was bound to catch up. Began to have aching pain in my lower back, to the point where I could not bend over without pain. Decided to try Hide's Shiatsu with Sangjin as my therapist for 75 mins and oh boy, was I in for a treat!! I regularly work out and at 240lbs I understand I may not be the easiest appointment many therapists look forward to, but Sangjin had no issues applying enough pressure using his body weight to have me feeling refreshed and new again. Sangjin was amazing! I initially went in for pain in my upper body -- shoulder, head, and back -- but somehow, he figured out I also had pain in my left hip, even though I never mentioned it. The session itself was intense, but he consistently checked to make sure I was comfortable with the pressure in each area. I just walked out of Hide's and I feel like I just got ran over by a Zamboni about 5 minutes ago. 60 minutes with Ted and I lost my balance and I'm sitting in the car sleepy as hell like I just had Thanksgiving dinner. Highly recommend getting Ted to work on you. I feel so damn good, the Catholic guilt is hitting hard right now. My man didn't even take a breather or nothing. Just 60 straight minutes of beating this crotchety ass body up. Hide Shiatsu is always my go-to place to get a massage in Torrance. Now, I go to Hide Shiatsu for injury prevention or if my muscles are feeling extra sore/tight. As of today, I always request to work on the upper body - mostly the back, shoulder, and chest. I managed to try some masseur/masseuse. also, Hide' Shiatsu is still the most affordable massage place in the Torrance area. Ted = is very good if you are looking for a full-body massage. However, if you book over 45 minutes and ask him to focus on a certain area, he will still do a full body massage and spare the last 10 minutes to focus on the area you requested. I can't say if he does the same if you book less than 45 minutes. He can share some stretches at home or equipment or gear to purchase if you have a special injury - such as a meniscus tear. Ryan & Tadashi = are very good at focusing on a bigger area such as the back, shoulder, and chest - which is why I am going to Hide's Shiatsu in the first place. Both provide some stretch in the end but extra points for Tadashi as he does some big stretches. Ashley = is my new favorite. She is similar to Ryan & Tadashi. However, she digs the knot even harder and deeper. Occasionally, she leaves some nail marks because she works above and beyond to get the knots and relieve muscle tightness. Octavian = is the most "relaxing" masseur as I fell asleep briefly. Unfortunately, he is the least engaging masseur and does the bare minimum. Meaning, that all he did was pressing his fingers and elbow. He doesn't look for the knots, move your arms to get the right angles/knots, and stretch you after. I asked to press harder but nothing changed. I came in with knots and tight muscles and came back with knots, tight muscles, and sleepiness. I am not saying he is bad but relaxing massage is not what I am asking. Will update my reviews after trying other masseur/masseuse. read more

Sangjin has the uncanny ability to know what muscles are causing pain/tension and how to massage effectively. I knew I had to get help so I immediately made an appointment. Coco was great. She's very strong but gentle at the same time. She massaged the cr*p out of my neck, shoulders and back. I've had massages at various places but nothing like an authentic Japanese shiatsu. It was pure bliss (albeit painful) but it was exactly what the doctor ordered. I went home feeling much better. Was having some residual pain from the day-to-day life and not give myself that self-care. I've gotten massages, acupuncture, chiropractic services before and always loved a good deep tissue massage. After my brother-in-law recommended this place, when inside for a walk-in, and it's good to see when a place is busy, and dozens of phone calls for appointments were being made while I was there for my session. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I booked for Taro for the first time.. and while I was getting a massage, HE FELL ASLEEP! 5x!!! Eventually, when he went into deep sleep I took off my eye cover and was staring at him and I had to wake him up!!! I still can't believe this happened to me!! I have gotten massage around the world for 40+ years and this NEVER happened to me!! As he woke up, he went on saying that he stayed up late last night, horrible receptionist named Terry overbooks all the time (to get commission) and exactly that happened to him today again, and that he just ate so the Sun hitting his face gave him food choma!!! I don't care!! I just can't believe why a shop does not take care of their employees and hire the right talent to protect their service!! I feel it was a half ass job and I feel worse than when I started. I've also never been told to do work myself (i.e., put hand here, put leg here, etc.) at a Shiatsu massage for "correction".. where he makes me position myself and do the work. This is crazy!! And when he is awake, he talks so much!! Saying "you are so tight".. I know! That's why I'm there!! This is NOT Japanese!! I booked a 75-min with Yoshi last night as I have a stiff neck and shoulders. I've suffered from pinched nerves and I have waited too long to get back here. I normally go to Gardena location as it's closer, but since I'm in pain, I drove to Torrance which I'm glad I did. Right when I laid down, I can smell the scent of the sanitizer on the headrest. I'm thankful that he made sure it's clean before each client. Mostly glad it was Yoshi, who right away concentrated on my neck and shoulders. Immediate relief and I couldn't thank him enough when I was leaving. In the morning, I couldn't turn my head; after my massage, I can look into my blind spot while driving. There's quite a bit to relay on how much I love coming here. 1. I picked up a groupon end of 2019 and used it Feb 2020. I purchased for 2 massages and after the 1st one the entire world went into lockdown. Luckily, now that they've reopened, I was delighted to call and hear they'll still honor my second massage even though the entire groupon was previously redeemed but with 1 massage left over from that overall purchase 2. 1/5 adults have experienced some form of depression since COVID and I, myself haven't been actually diagnosed with depression but the anxiety of living in an pandemic environment has caused insomnia to bubble up for the past few months. I've tried all medications and 'natural' homeopathics and nothing's worked. After I strained a muscle from improperly stretching during yoga, I was desperate to get it fixed. Yoshi focused primarily on my left shoulder and I will be blunt, it hurt but only the good kind of pain. That night, I tossed and turned from full body sore since he activated all the dormant muscles from staying home all day and not properly working out. By day 2, I've never felt looser and more relaxed. For the first time in many many moons, I had a good nights sleep and woke up happier than I've been. I started researching online the effects/benefits of Shiatsu and it's actually recommended to get treatment every 2-4 weeks. I came here couple of times and had several different masseuses. In general, everyone were all good, I didn't have anyone I didn't like, but I do have my two favorites: Jay and Altin. Both Jay and Altin were my favorites since they both focused on shiatsu techniques and deep tissue massages. However, if you have really bad knots, Sunny is really good getting it out. Sunny uses more of the shiatsu technique; holding the pressure point for about 10-20 seconds and moving to the next pressure point. Therefore, he will focus more on the shiatsu technique than the deep tissue massage. For the price point, this place is very affordable and the quality of the massage you receive is amazing.
