Pros: They were friendly on the phone, and the technicians who came were also very friendly and explained exactly what they were doing. This is a company that proved they care deeply about service and the quality of their work. I learned that they have a 30-day Customer Satisfaction guarantee, and they came back a second time and did a WONDERFUL, much more thorough job! Cons: On the phone, I was told they charge $1.50/sq. ft. I also told the lady how big my area rugs were, so we both knew about how much this job would cost at that point. When the technician arrived, THAT is when I was told there was a minimum charge of $155. If I had known that ahead of time, I likely wouldn't have used this company. Nevertheless, I ended up agreeing for an extra treatment- deodorizing- to equal the minimum. The technician was friendly, but not all that professional. He was asking questions about how much we were going to sell our rugs for and pointing out flaws in our flooring. Also, if you take a loo the before-and-after, you'll notice that this is a higher foot traffic rug, which I mentioned on the phone. You'll also notice that the before and after don't look much different. I was very disappointed with how little came out. Our plan was to clean and sell this rug, but there's no way we can sell this rug for much looking like this, and now we're out all of that money for a job not very well done as well. In addition to all the dirty spots that are very visible throughout the main surface of the rug, the edges weren't even hardly touched. I understand a round rug can be quite difficult to clean the edges, believe me. But that's why I decided to call in a professional! I'm pretty disappointed! ***The second cleaning was amazing, so much better than the first! The technician used a smaller attachment to clean the edges of this round rug, and WOW- what a difference! I will add an updated picture once the rug dries! So much happier with this cleaning! read more

We were in the process of selling our home and we wanted the carpets to be cleaned. Once I contacted Higgins they were so nice and had someone out to clean the carpets within a couple of days. The cleaning was very thorough. While the carpets were drying I could smell a mildewy odor. I called Higgins and they sent the person that cleaned the carpets out in a hurry. Several friends had recommended Higgins Carpet Care over the last year. I recently completed some remodeling work and my carpets were full of dust and dirt. I called and scheduled an appointment. This is a family operation so there is no office staff to take calls so you may have to leave a message. I did and got a call back a couple of hours later. I explained what I needed and an appointment was set for a few days later. They qouted me a price for the job over the phone. Jeff Higgins arrived a little early and asked if it was OK. Nice. I'm used to late arrival contractors who don't even acknowledge being late. A quick visual check of the areas I wanted cleaned and Jeff and his helper went to work. Their equipment is truck mounted and heavy duty. They set up corner guards to prevent the hoses from marking the walls as they pull the hoses in and out. Then they pretreated the carpet to be cleaned. Moved furniture and placed clear tape on any legs that would come into contact with the damp carpet once it was moved back into place. The price was the same as quoted. No upsell or extras. They also do tile and grout cleaning. I asked for a price for cleaning my grungy floor grout. After finishing up the carpet Jeff did a small area of tile and grout in my entryway. It was to see how dirty it was to assist in giving me a price but also to demonstrate what the floor will look like when cleaned and sealed. Wow! Like new! I will be scheduling that job soon. But he advised me that it takes several hours to clean the floor, let it dry and then seal it. But it will be well worth it read more

In the past when I have had them cleaned the dirt always seems to resurface after a few days, but when Jeff and his team clean them it is gone for good.
