However, when I was taken to the room, the assistant said it would actually be $309. When I asked why, she said, "It's just a $10 difference," which is not true -- it's $19. I told her I would be paying cash (no insurance) and that I didn't appreciate the price changing before we even started. She said she would go check the price and never came back. After 40 minutes, I went out myself and found her just standing there. She said they had increased the prices and that the front desk "didn't know." Then the doctor, Robert Huggins, came in and said prices were higher because I made the appointment "a month ago." That's not true -- I scheduled it three days before. He apologized and agreed to honor the original $290 price, and even said he'd do it for $280. He gave me anesthesia at 11:10 a.m. and said he would start in a few minutes. But he didn't come back for almost an hour -- until 11:55. By that time, the anesthesia was already wearing off. When I told him this was unacceptable, he said, "You're right, I should've told you to come next week, because I'm too busy today." Then he gave me two options: he said he could either start right now and finish everything in 15 minutes, or reschedule me for another day. So basically, after sitting in that chair for three and a half hours, hungry, numb, and ignored, he suddenly decided my treatment could be rushed in just 15 minutes. That's not normal, and it's absolutely unacceptable. Even though it was an emergency for me and I decided to let him fix the tooth that day, I left the clinic completely drained and disappointed. No one offered water, no one apologized. At the end, he gave me a $50 discount, and I ended up paying $618 in total. I will never come back to this place again -- and I don't recommend it to anyone who expects respect, honesty, and professionalism

Called a few and when the receptionist at Market Common Dentistry answered the phone, I knew it was the practice I was looking for. It's not a drive through dentist like so many out there. The dentists, dental assistants, and hygienists are some of the best that I have ever visited. They treat you like a friend, not a nameless customer. I feel super comfortable there. I moved to Surfside Beach from Ohio last May and had my first appointment here June 2025…read more My hygienist was rude. she dug into my gums until they bled (and was sore for days after), when I told her she was hurting me, she said she had to clean the plaque off my teeth and that I had terrible gingivitis. She told me I didn't brush my teeth properly, and got the giant teeth mold out to "teach" me how to brush, then said "people up North don't know how to properly care for their teeth". I cancelled my 6 month check-up and made a new appointment at Surfside Family Dentist. Today I had my 6 month check-up at Surfside, and as expected, had a perfect checkup, with no issues, no concerns, and a "we'll see you in 6 months".
