My appointment was at 9:15 a.m., and I arrived early at 9:05 to fill out the paperwork. At the front desk, a guy told me the X-ray and exam would cost $290, and he repeated it several times. However, when I was taken to the room, the assistant said it would actually be $309. When I asked why, she said, "It's just a $10 difference," which is not true -- it's $19. I told her I would be paying cash (no insurance) and that I didn't appreciate the price changing before we even started. She said she would go check the price and never came back. After 40 minutes, I went out myself and found her just standing there. She said they had increased the prices and that the front desk "didn't know." Then the doctor, Robert Huggins, came in and said prices were higher because I made the appointment "a month ago." That's not true -- I scheduled it three days before. He apologized and agreed to honor the original $290 price, and even said he'd do it for $280. He gave me anesthesia at 11:10 a.m. and said he would start in a few minutes. But he didn't come back for almost an hour -- until 11:55. By that time, the anesthesia was already wearing off. When I told him this was unacceptable, he said, "You're right, I should've told you to come next week, because I'm too busy today." Then he gave me two options: he said he could either start right now and finish everything in 15 minutes, or reschedule me for another day. So basically, after sitting in that chair for three and a half hours, hungry, numb, and ignored, he suddenly decided my treatment could be rushed in just 15 minutes. That's not normal, and it's absolutely unacceptable. Even though it was an emergency for me and I decided to let him fix the tooth that day, I left the clinic completely drained and disappointed. No one offered water, no one apologized. At the end, he gave me a $50 discount, and I ended up paying $618 in total. I will never come back to this place again -- and I don't recommend it to anyone who expects respect, honesty, and professionalism read more

They had a fire in their office late last year and have recently moved back into their newly built office. It is very nice with a much more comfortable waiting area. The first day I visited their office, my very first question was: "Do you accept Cigna Insurance?" The very nice appearing lady quickly replied: "We do accept Cigna Insurance!" . . . That's where the SCAM started! Years later I had a very painful and costly awakening! I learned that it is not sufficient to merely ask: "Do you accept Cigna Insurance?" An inquiring patient must ask: "ARE YOU A PARTICIPATING MEMBER OF CIGNA?" If you are not informed enough to include those TWO LITTLE WORDS -- PARTICIPATING MEMBER -- your dental insurance policy will pay little to nothing . . . In bold letters on THEIR VERY OWN Web Page, are the words: "Our administrative staff is ready to help you with questions about scheduling, financial policy and insurance." HYPOCRISY I Say! They can't possibly help you with insurance questions, because they have no affiliation with any insurance company . . . As a matter of jurisprudence, this form of deception is fraudulent and according to the Cornell School of Law: "Nondisclosure of a material fact is tantamount to an affirmative misrepresentation when a party is duty bound to disclose pertinent information." PROCEED TO Dr. KARKANEN AT YOUR OWN RISK My wife went to this dentist only once and that was enough. We questioned some of the charges during this visit. (Total initial visit cost with five x-rays $225). She responded by fabricating a bunch of falsehoods about the visit and refused to refund anything. We were seeking a partial refund of less than $60. The oral exam was non-existent: she was running between multiple patients at the same time. The cancer screening was never performed and she talked to the x-ray video monitor rather than directly to my wife. She did not really answer questions and used dental jargon only in her answers. Based on our interaction with this doctor it was apparent that she was only there for the money and must have personal issues in her life. I emailed the practice and asked if it might be possible to get an appointment. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from an office receptionist at 9:00 the next morning, inviting me to come in as soon as possible to fill out paperwork and be examined by Dr. Berry. My visit to the office was a very pleasant and productive one, I was examined and worked on by three professionals: Dr. Berry, Jana, and Annie. They were very generous with their time, made me feel relaxed and comfortable, and diagnosed the issue. By the time I left the office Dr. Berry had taken X-Rays, modified the crown, and set up a follow up visit.
