I chose MdT over some of the more established options because they showed up in DC temporarily at the right place and time, and they seemed a little more conservative in styling than SuitSupply. I ended up buying two suits from MdT during a pop-up event they did in DC. I'm pleased with the finish, styling, and price point, I ended up spending about $1400 for 2 half-canvas suits. The overall experience was pleasant, including selection of fabric, options, and measurements. The "style valet" talked through what I was buying the suits for and what my work and office environments are like, and my general wardrobe and style. After about an hour session (including measurements taken), I had to wait about 3 weeks for my first suit. I had to have the first set of pants tailored, but after communicating the issues back to the "style valet", the second suit addressed those issues and was good to go straight out of the box. Given the inherent challenges of building a suit off a single measurement, I'd recommend that MdT is best if you're in New York and can go in for a second measurement once your first item is ready for you. But I made it work from another city. My assigned "valet" was pretty responsive and helpful by email. In sum, I recommend MdT, though if you're in NYC you've got a lot more options. This is a very competitive niche but I'm happy with the quality, service, and value I got from Martin de Tours.

In other words, they were expecting me to do they own job without even saying thank you or that they were sorry for the inconvenience they caused me. They promise to refund your money within 1-2 days of receipt of the package. This did not happen in my case. It took them 15 days and three emails, and they still would not issue the refund. I had to do a chargeback through my credit card company. This was after I provided UPS proof of delivery showing that the package had been received at TB's return facility. They claimed to have "technical difficulties" and promised to investigate, but they held the refund hostage during this process. In other words, they punished me for their own ineptitude. Many similar complaints on Google Reviews and the Better Business Bureau show that this was not a one-time occurrence. Thom Browne has a history of dragging their feet when it comes to issuing refunds. It's a deceptive business practice to advertise a policy and then refuse to follow it. I have never experienced such poor customer service from a luxury brand; most of them go out of their way to accommodate customers because they want repeat business. But I'll never buy from Thom Browne again. I will be donating my only other Thom Browne shirt to the thrift store.

Varun was late in every single appointment we had. One time he did not appear at all, with his assistant giving excuses like that he was stuck in traffic (it was 12pm). The clothes were OK, but not the quality fit you would expect for the price. The entire process was quite frustrating.
