PROS: 1. It's cheap ($2 parking, $6 tickets). 2. There aren't usually many people there (unless it's July 4 because they have fireworks after the game), so you'll get a seat for sure. (When I went, they said they were almost sold out of the $6 tickets and there wouldn't be many seats left, but when I got in, only 1/4 or 1/3 of the stadium was full.) No matter where you sit, you'll be able to see. 3. On Family Feast days, hot dogs and sodas are $1. 4. There's a Juice it Up tent, which is one of the best parts, in my opinion. ;) $4.50, which gets you a 24oz drink at a regular location, gets you a 16oz drink here. 5. There's a big, fenced-in grassy area next to right field for the kids to play on, and there's a small jump house there too. 6. If the Mavericks get 9 runs in a game, the whole stadium gets coupons for 2 free tacos from Jack in the Box. It happened when I went! 7. Wooly Bully is the mascot, and a lame slice of pizza is a mascot too (Papa John's advertising). The mascots dance on the dugout, try to get fans to cheer/do the wave, and throw a couple bags of popcorn to the audience. 8. The kids get to run across the field after the 7th inning. Lots of silly games and entertainment between innings. 9. They pass a hat every time a Mavericks player gets a home run. The employee told me that 100% of the money goes to the players. CONS: 1. Let's be honest, the Mavericks aren't a great team. They're not a terrible team either, but I stopped rooting for any team and started rooting for whoever made a good play. On the bright side, Mavericks actually won against the Storm 10-9 when I went. 2. The score board person didn't keep track of the errors, which was disappointing for those of us who did. 3. You can't understand anything they announce/say through their speakers or mics. The system is very poor quality. 4. I waited in line at the concession stand for at least 2, probably 3, innings. The workers were hurrying, so the stadium REALLY needs to have more than ONE window serving food. 5. They served me cans of hot soda (which I was able to trade in for cold ones), they were out of pepperoni pizza, and they were out of hot dogs by the time I left. 6. Sometimes you honestly can't tell if you're talking to an employee or a fan. The employees need to wear uniforms, and the same uniform at that. 7. They don't recycle any of the cans and bottles that get left in their stadium. Think of how much money they could make (and the impact on the environment they could have) if they recycled them all. 8. During one of their between-innings shows, they had "cowboys" with real guns. The good cowboys stood on the dugout and watched the bad cowboys fight each other. After a little while, the good cowboys drew their guns and shot the bad cowboys. The guns really did go off with empty rounds, and the bad cowboys pretended to die. Was this supposed to be heroic? Teaching all the observant kids that if you see someone doing something bad, shooting them is the praiseworthy response? Not trying to break up the fight? The stadium announcer provided no intro or explanation. So much for a family-friendly atmosphere. I plan to ask for an explanation from the stadium tomorrow. If the conversation goes anywhere, I'll post an update. CONCLUSION: The Mavs need to open more than one window for food at the concession stand, and they crossed a line with the fake shooting in front of a ton of kids. But I like the place overall, and it's a cheap night of fun. I'll come back again (I always do), but I won't be in a hurry to do so. read more

I'm a baseball fan at heart. The stadium, although in decent shape, really needs a facelift. It is good, casual and cheap entertainment for the family, so that's the reason for the 3 stars. Food is decent, parking is cheap and tickets are generally available unless it's a holiday or some super special event is happening. If you decide you hate the seats you purchased, you can generally move to another without creating a scene. Love the kettle korn, but it's not available on all game days. Glad the Sunday games were changed to 5:05pm instead of 1:05pm. Would like to see their Facebook site updated more regularly, especially in the case of time changes for games. The announcer always sounds like he has a mouth full of marbles and we can't understand what he's saying - good thing we're baseball fans otherwise we wouldn't know what's happening without a color commentator. The scoreboard also needs to be updated, fixed or replaced. It's currently just blank. People like to know the score, players' names, batting average and other baseball stats during the game. With the increase in billboard sponsorships, perhaps this can be looked into as an additional expense. read more

First time catching a game here and it was quite fun. Being a fan of MLB wasn't quite sure what to expect. The players have to be respected as 90% of them will never see the big leagues but are playing for the love of the game or simply chasing a dream. Fans in attendance seemed to be having a fun time as I did and my $10 seats right behind home plate were totally worth it. $2 for parking? I'll be back!! High Desert Mavericks - Professional Sports Teams Near Me - Adelanto, California

My sincerest appologies to the residents Adelanto CA, someone gave you this travesty of a stadium and told you it was minor league baseball. This is FAR FROM minor league baseball. I have been to minor league parks in Fla, VA, OH, TX, CA, NC and SC and this stadium is by far the WORST by far! Middle of the desert and no ice in drinks just bottled bath water warm drinks. Only ice cream is sandwiches. If you want to be a millionaire get a food truck that makes snow cones and soft serve ice cream and park it outside this dump! The stadium itself would better serve as a land fill because all it is is a sad hole in desert with seats. There is no shade! Who builds a stadium on the desert with out an overhang for shade? I have season tickets to two Florida State League teams and both of them have a shaded areas. In fact every Stadium I've been to accept this one has shade somewhere. The stadium itself is dirty old and needs about a three and a half week cleaning to be considered suitable for human use. The visitors Clubhouse looks like it needs to be condemned. The game I was there the visiting players were saying that all the toilets in there club house were backing up and not working. The team shop would be better off to be called the teen closet because it was about 4 foot by 8 foot in size. I've been in public restrooms larger than this store. Out of that 12 hats they had in stock, amazingly one was actually my size. I felt sorry for the poor lady working in there, she looked like she was going to die heat stroke in any second. If you live in Adelanto California and you really need to see baseball go to a little league game at least that's free! read more

This is a great ballpark in an odd location for the High A Seattle Mariners. The park sits alone off of the 395 in Adelanto near nothing. In fact, the nearest hotels are 10 miles away in Victorville and Hesperia. The stadium is relatively new and someone dumped a lot of money into build a fun family-oriented facility. Unfortunately, the draw for games is "quiet" at best. Expect to see shoot-outs, kids riding horses and lots of other fun activities in between innings. I don't know what the economics of minor league baseball are, (like revenue sharing with the big league club), but High Desert which has a wonderful stadium seems to be in a really odd place to draw fans. In MLB, the Marlins did something like this by building a stadium in the middle of a swamp, but they are protected through TV revenue sharing. This is a nice park and local folks should support the Mavericks, else this will be soon be desolate! read more

We came to the third game of the season and was presently surprised. This year there are cleaning staff all over the place doing great work! The Latino Sunday is GONE‼‼‼ Great service and food at the concessions stands! We are looking forward to a enjoyable season, GO MAVS The only thing that would make for a 5 star review would be a improved score board with stats of players and improved sound system. Maybe broadcast on low power AM so fans could use hand held radios or app on smart phones. Last year was -2 stars due to: 1) The food concession stations with poor service from poorly trained staff, very high prices for simple food items, bi-lingual menus difficult to read, and long lines. 2) Spanish Sunday's. I grew up across the street from Mavericks Stadium and my mom brought us to many, many games from 1994-99ish - the hell years I spent in the High Desert. I still have a Jack McDowell (remember him) signed baseball and the article from the Daily Press in my baseball collection. Me and my brother would go to games all the time and hunt foul balls and roll down that little grass hill that they had...I actually had my first job there with Brandon Randall (one crazy MF that I had some great times with back in the day) and sold souvenirs there...I was the best. Seriously. Oh and I met the guy from IHOP there when I was working...Remember Cliff From IHOP? Here is his IMDB in case you don't: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0069856/bio. Anyways, he strolled in to our Maverick Stadium sporting an IHOP hat...I walk up to him and I say: "Dude, what's with the lid? This is Maverick Stadium. You wear a Maverick Hat at Maverick Stadium." He said, "I like my hat - it's an IHOP hat." I responded with..."Dude come on, what are you Cliff From IHOP?" He said yes...took off his hat and it was D-List Celebrity Cliff. He gave me an autographed picture - which I still have to this day - bought 10 hats and gave them to kids. Will never forget that day and that story. Good Dude. He was a fire fighter or was involved with a charity for fire fighters or something like that and he was there to support that effort. Good deal. I also once picked up a girl named Jennifer there...she was my first love and one of my first sexual conquests. I lost her to a friend of mine...you know classic HS BS. He and I are still tight after all these years. Mom also took us to CHURCH at Mavs Stadium...I know some of us view baseball as a cathedral, but back in the day High Desert Church would host their Easter Service there...I had the funniest pastor - Pastor Tom Mercer. I believe he was the one that coined the term CEO Christian - Christmas Easter Only - which I'd be lucky to qualify for that at this point. Anyways, so I have a ton of great memories here...so why the three stars? Well Travis Lee never became the super star we all though he would.... (Just kidding, but you real baseball fans will attest to this). Honestly, its just that there was no consistency in ownership (I hear they might leave which will break my heart), affiliation and general care of the facility has wavered over the years. This location blows. Sure, parking and tickets are cheap, which is nice, but the buildings surrounding the stadium form a horrible wind tunnel which is guaranteed to blow sand into your eyes. Also, the bathrooms are badly taken care of - not even halfway through the game, the paper towels were gone, and were not replaced (don't bother trying the hand dryers, they're broken). Having some basic janitorial staff on duty may have been a good idea. read more

Guess we're in a transition season with the new owners, already noticed less variety of vendors, beer is $9 and flat, long waits for even the basics items at the concession stands. Sound is aweful the further away you are from homeplate plate. Last season was moving in the right direction, what happened? We watch a lot of California League games in Lancaster and Rancho Cucamonga. We've even been to Inland Empire, but this was our first visit to Adelanto. It will probably be our last because of an almost unusable online ticketing process. I haven't been to the Mavericks stadium, so I cannot comment on the home experience, but I did see them play at Lake Elsinore and want to share a story that shows the class of the players and coaches. Last night we took my 4 1/2 year old son, Wyatt to see his first professional baseball game - The Lake Elsinore Storm vs. The High Desert Mavericks. We had great seats in the second row at the end of the Mavericks dugout. Wyatt is fascinated with catchers and wants to be one as soon as he graduates T-ball, so between innings he would wander to the end of the Mavericks dugout and watch the catcher, Kellin Deglan, put on and take off his equipment. Late in the game Kellin was returning to the dugout and looked right at Wyatt to throw him a ball. Wyatt was paying attention to something else and Kellin threw the ball to another kid. When Wyatt realized what happened he was crushed. He cried and cried, to the point where we almost took him home. Apparently one of the Mavericks coaches, Alberto Puello, noticed all or part of this and during the bottom of the 9th I saw him keeping an eye on Wyatt from the dugout. As soon as the game ended he walked directly to the end of the dugout and called Wyatt over and game him an Official Major League baseball! Wyatt was stunned! I've been a baseball fan since I was four years old and this was the classiest, most memorable thing that I've ever had happen. I am forever grateful to Coach Puello, what a first class guy! He had no idea this was Wyatt's first game and that he was creating a memory that will last a lifetime. I'm going to follow his career because I know I will see him coaching in the Majors one day. My husband and I have lived in Victorville for 3 years now and we finally decided to attend a Maverick game. Sadly we should have stayed home. The beer my husband got from a small lemonade stand looking table was not worth the 10min wait. There was foam filling 1/2 the cup. We told the lady that was poring that there should be more and se ignored us as she called out "Next". Then we sat down in our seats after trying to find them with no one insight to help. (The numbers are so worn off you have to count the seats yourself) After siting for a few innings we noticed there were not any cup holders not were there open top trash cans. They literally have the street trash cans siting out with their lids closed and in order to throw your trash away you must open the grungy lid. Also as left after the 7th inning we were rudely stopped by the door men and told that we must return to our seats unless we are smoking. I do not recommend coming to this ball park.... read more
